I find this Oud Malaki to be pretty close to Penhaligon’s halfeti. Similar scent profile. Does anyone else get that? Both Oud and Incense Malaki are amazing. Well worth the money. Really good quality. They would be worth 2-3 times as much as they cost right now. Amazing. I’m glad you’ve posted this Marc!
Nice review. I copped Oud Malaki and Black Incense Malaki several months ago and enjoy both. I find Oud Malaki a bit cleaner and brighter. You're description about not having real oud is spot on - even tho there's (probably) no real oud, it's a great blend of spices.
Great review of this one Marc! I get somewhat of a sparkly, buttery, tobacco cola vibe off of this one. Really enjoyable wear for me. Like you said beautifully blended and smooth. Was wearing it a lot in the winter but I think you're right its more of a fall scent the more I spend time with it. Appreciate this one and for letting me know about that Cedar Malaki! Wasn't aware of that release but looking forward to checking that one out. Thanks for the heads up!
I actually sprung for the Cedar Malaki from Harrods. Really good fragrance as well. The notes are a little different, but there is a strong family resemblance with the wearing experience.
@@justaddlight Without writing a dissertation, it's a woody & green fragrance. If you are familiar with some of the others in the Malaki line, you'll know that the smoothness & blending is the the hallmark. That is the case here as well. The only difference is that the stars of this fragrance are the cypress & cedar as opposed to the oud, amber, tobacco, leather, and incense in some of the other fragrances. Performance is similar to the others. Lasts a decent amount, but with moderate projection. Right now it's a Harrod's exclusive so it's pricey especially with shipping. If you can wait it should be very reasonable priced once it hits discounters. I only paid up because I'm impatient and am a big fan of the line. Overall if you like Oud Malaki & Black Incense Malaki, I don't see why you wouldn't like this, because Cedar Malaki has a lot of that dna.
the lack of bite from any of the notes makes me think a lot of Iso E Super -type molecules were utilized here instead of naturals. It is a very well blended, smooth composition - but it simply isn't an S tier - compare this opening to the opening of Ambre Sultan that can kick you off your chair, different planes of existence, really.
Please buy samples first . This is a very light smelling perfume with a soapy smell . Projects just for an hour and after that its low down very very much , i suggest save ur money
I feel like I need to call Chopard to ask if it's pronounced Malak-eee or Malak-eye. 😄 I feel oddly self-conscious when I use either. Anyway, if you ever get to smell the new Cedar flanker, I'd love to get your take. So far, it doesn't sound as foresty as, say Zara's Mountain Woody Forest. Ps, I heard Lapouza tweaked his Angels' Share formula for Zara's new Sand Desert at Sunset. 🏜 Potentially a great alternative for those who dislike clones.
Loving the consistent content!! Best nose in the game
Appreciate it!

I agree Oud Malaki and Halfeti have very similar vibes...
Appreciate your thoughts. I still need to sniff Halfeti

Knowing the nose, he's a master with spices and this was a show of it.

NP my friend! Thanks for stopping by!
Interesting. Out of the Malaki oud, amber and cedar, which is the best? Kinda looking for something semi dark and woody with a touch a sweetness
Great review and I enjoyed it and I'm going to try it and have a blessed day
Appreciate it!
Hey Marc!! GREAT review as ALWAYS but do you get Tom Ford Tobacco Oud VIBES with Oud Malaki?? Thanks!! 🙏🏽
hmm interesting. I will keep that in mind next time I test them. I know I didn't at the time, but we will see
Keep them coming!!
will do 💪
I always been curious about this one, I will get a sample or blind buy it, for the price it's a bargain. Thanks for the Test Drive Marc!!!
NP!
I agree. The Malaki line are blended incredibly well, but Black Incense is the only one with any real oomph to it.
truth!
I’m glad I found out about the caraway. There are only 2 things I hate - caraway and black licorice! I do like cumin though.
Interesting 2 that you don't like.
Nice review. Thanks.
I love it
And also got musk Malaki
Both are great.
I still need to get that Musk!
I love the Malaki line have Oud Amber and Black Incense they are good Tfs

Could you elaborate? Incredible amount of varying reviews on Fragrantica. Everything from drab and boring to lavender to mango bubblegum. Thoughts?
let us know how she is

@@kevino73 Excellent response and very thorough. Thank you!!
@@kevino73 Jomashop just got some testers and full presentations in stock. I was able to grab a full presentation, testers were sold out.
Robes the OG 👍
That's me!

of course this isn't mind blowing good artistically however for price found vs comparables you kinda have to give it props for being solid.
Don't have this one, purchased Cedar Malaki from Jomashop last month. I also have Amber, Rose, and Musk Malaki from the line 👊🏾
Joma!
Hi ya mate..what’s the musk one like..? Got my eye on it as I want a dominant musk fragrance but I’ve heard it’s not that good..
I love it ❤️
Appreciate seeing you here!
@@robes08 My pleasure ❤️
I did a blind buy on this and though it isn't bad, I never find myself reaching for it.
I could see that with someone with a larger collection.
Oud Malaki a beautiful hidden gem especially at the prices it's sold at by discounters.
Truth!
Halfeti is the name of the district of a city in Turkiye.
👍
What about black insence
he just talked about it at the end
It's the darkest of the bunch but if you want more info I do have videos on it! Any questions don't hesitate!

that's great to hear that it works on your skin

It's Malak-ee pronounced like (Mala-key)
Means regal/royal in Arabic
@@hassanjrt.9475 Thank you! That clears things up!
