wow, i just surfed UA-cam for finding an appropriate video which explain the concepts of SDN, SBI, NBI, etc. and i founded nothing that describe them awesomely ! I really want to appreciate you sir for making this video and clarify these concepts for us. Thank you so much.
I'm extremely late to these courses you provide but the way you explain these terms and repeat it in a simplified manner is very helpful. Thank you so much for you continuous information! you've quickly became my favorite person to go to for study material and everything else
The best explanation and definition on SDN. I checked so many videos but was unable to understand the concept. But this video helped me a lot and i am able to understand the SDN concept. Thanks a lot. U r champ. Excellent Excellent.
The ambiguities that i had regarding SDN and Openflow esp routing concepts are all washed away. Thanks a lot David. Will definitely go through all your videos.
youtube has hell lot of videos on sdn but none of them has much understanding , just keep explaining same thing and none has proper clarity, thanks a lot for this video to explain simply and connecting different dots. Really appreciate please keep sharing more videos , will be great if you explain controller in more detail like all required configuration considering one actual network having say n routers and switches, also how this environment will talk with other environments that may be SDN of legacy network......thanks again.
Hello Mr David, You give three definition of SDN, but I am confuse. At 1:37 we can see those definitions. But I think that OpenFlow (same as Opflex) is an API itself and we can not speak about SDN without putting Vxlan/NVGRE/STT(Overlay) on the table. So please, how can you diffenrentiate it in 3? SDN resolve also numbers of vlans from 4096 >>16millions, so they can be also link together. Thank you very much for ur clarifications
Specifically defining SDN is just one of those things currently, where if you ask 10 people, you'll likely get 10 different answers. I agree with the sentiment that its become more of an umbrella term, since you have multiple competing solutions right now. I feel like it'll likely become more like a toolbox, than any one specific tool, since not every current approach addresses every aspect of what full SDN should be.
Thank you David for such a nice video! Best video I found for SDN intro. It would be great if you could tell me how to learn more of SDN. I am a novice and have taken only undergraduate level networking course.
The term SDN means almost anything these days.... Cisco ACI is a type of SDN. Other vendors like VMware have their version of SDN; and others like the ONF have theirs.
Sir I have a qus. .by the application we can program to the controller and controller talk with open flow switch by openflow protocol and update delete or edit there flow table ..but my confusion is that in sdn there have no routing protocol like bgp, ospf we can't configure?
hi. kindly. Sir, your video is great. I wonder do you have one lecture related to hybrid SDN. OSPF, Measure the Bandwidth, how to agumenting specific traffic demand in your course lecture. Thank you
+Nick Russler OF-CONFIG can be used to change device configurations. More detail is available on the ONF website: www.opennetworking.org/sdn-resources/technical-library
Finally, someone who understands it AND is able to explain it...
