actively resisting ones (idiots) get f*cked up really fast. Most of practitioners would fall/give up at the 1st sign of pain :p It would be nightmare if the master picked you to demonstrate the technique.
Nam Map, the “it’s too dangerous to be realistic with” is a poor argument. It doesn’t mean application at full force, it means actively resisting your opponent’s desire to acquire the position and limbs to put it on in the first place. I do Gracie JiuJitsu and can make the same argument you did, but we live roll with full resistance every class. Guess what happens, we find position for the submission quickly but we apply it slowly. No injury and yet active resistance. If Judo and other JiuJitsu find a way to be realistic, then obviously the “it’s too dangerous argument” isn’t applicable
You both have valid points. Some things can be a bit dangerous to practice on resisting opponents due to the possible joint injury. And with that being said the viability of a martial art is shown through live sparring much more clearly than in demonstrations.
It is good that Morihei Ueshiba managed to have a more circular view of Aikijujutsu thus creating Aikido. In this video we realized that practitioners use a lot of strength. There are still many orthodox movements but we cannot help admiring this art. I believe that Aikido is a great evolution of Aikijujutsu.
Real self defense art always require strength. You can not entirely rely on the attacker's movement/pose to perform the technique. Yes, any ****aiki***** are self defense techniques not a martial art (there is no offense move). Samurai uses it when they were attacked (w/o weapon in their palm). edit: I have not trained enough to learn about weapon's techniques (my master is also dislike them since it is very rare get ourselves in a sword fight nowadays... Fencing/hema/kendo handle weapon's stuff better)
These are basic Daito-ryu techniques and they are ancient. Some dojo also do various. For example this ua-cam.com/users/shortsDyOSV775Pok?feature=share . May be you’ll like it too.
they are doing it traditional. they should show how an aikido will fight using its technique against a a boxer or against a kicker. The boxer must punch multiple and moving as they do in classic boxing. and aikido will react against it.
This Diato Ryu Jujutsu aka Diato Ryu Aiki Jujutsu. It’s a very complete and comprehensive battlefield system of armed and unarmed combat as it pertained to Feudal Japanese individual warfare in close quarters. This video is far from all encompassing of the art. My advice is go to a Diato Ryu school headed by a quality instructor to get a better perspective. You may just surprise yourself with what you will learn. Boxing is awesome but it leaves a lot to desired in what would be considered even close to complete of a combat art. Same with every sporterized martial art. Those arts offer live resistance and sparing something that is definitely necessary to install confidence and develop proper timing but you still gotta combine that stuff with these older traditional forms of you want to be a complete martial artist in my humble opinion. A lot of of your really good UFC fighters have a traditional martial arts background and still go back to it long after their MMA careers are over. You aren’t gonna see a lot of people over the age of 40 practicing MMA or any of the sporterized martial arts that make up modern MMA with the exception of BJJ and some Judo players. It’s too hard on the body to get beat up on like that after a certain age. Hopefully by your older years you’ve done enough of that stuff to have confidence in what you can and cannot do on the street.
Aikijujutsu wasn't born against boxe, but against armed and unarmed warriors in "o yoroi" in XII /XIII century... Its target there's no boxer but generic aggressor. This can't do a boxer however.
Uhh... This is Daito-Ryu. Akido, Shorinji Kempo, Judo, Hapkido, and more all originated from this style. Note: even Akido practitioners call Daito-Ryu brutal. The attacks done are realistic to "pressure testing" as it can be in a routine where the other guy is resisting. Daito-Ryu is different from Akido. Your fucking arm should be bruised by next day if you properly fucking do Daito Ryu techniques correctly. Note: in Daito Ryu the moment o f contact you aim for the opponent's balance. Akido does their weird eNergy bull shit.
It's very nice but the music is very annoying I had to lower the volume I wish you guys would have put traditional music instead because it is an ancient art not a modern music art
So long as you have a training methodology you use against actively resisting opponents, then this can work very very well.

There was no evolution there was dillution
Aikido is a more soft version of Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu just like how judo is softer version of jujutsu
That's not correct at all
*Very interesting!* 🙋🏻♂️

This looks nice and more dynamic than Aikido but the only thing I dont like about this is that the attacks do not resemble real life at all.

Very efective against Gracie bjj.
Omg....please someone turn off this lousy music!!!!
Music is irritating
