No one has an answer for this: where are the believers? Doesn’t it say in the New Testament: “these signs will accompany those who believe: in the name of Jesus Christ they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues, they will take up serpents, and if they drink anything deadly, it will buy no means hurt them. They will lay hands on the sick and they will recover. The Lord will work through them, confirming the Word through the accompanying signs.” Where is this happening? I see a lot of teachers and preachers, but I see absolutely no DEMONSTRATION of God’s power. Like Jesus and His apostles did quite frequently in their missions. I have heard a number of “justifications“ for why we don’t have miracles today. Things ranging from “God uses doctors to heal people now” to “that was under a different dispensation because of persecution but we don’t need miracles now.” BUT THATS NOT WHAT THE WORD SAYS! So my question is is: where are the believers? Where are the accompanying signs? Where is the demonstration of God’s power?
It's not just about recognizing one's sin (that one chooses to come to Christ, "the great physician"). It's about desiring to be RID of it, wanting to CHANGE. That's why Jesus uses the word "physician" and the analogy of sick people going to the doctor. He doesn't use the word "policeman" in that verse (Matthew 9:12, Luke 5:31). A person primarily goes to the doctor because they want to be cured of their ailment and be restored. And that's what Jesus, the healer, the rescuer, the savior, the deliverer, the liberator DOES and does WELL: John 8:31-36, Romans 6, Acts 26:18, 1st John 3:8 etc.
There’s nothing wrong with not having children, but it is wrong to refuse to be fruitful/multiply because of a sovereignty that you think you can attain outside of the Lord’s will. Taking the attitude that’s displayed by your question is to jump over all of the commands in God’s Word about how to raise children because you have created a better system that overrides God’s revealed will. See 2 Pet 3:9 and Ezekiel 18:23
@@hablaf12 Thanks for a well thought out response. I had a discussion with a good friend about this last night. I found the sermon troubling because if most will end up in hell, then why risk it. The response I received was eye opening. He said that to think I’ve found a better solution, is to deny God’s design. From a reformed perspective, God is glorified by saving some and not others. It’s the system that He created. To think that I’ve discovered a better way, is to say that God somehow made a mistake. I does make me wonder why that system is in place, but I’m not God. Not perfect, not smarter. That being said, what do you think about the command to be fruitful being for those people at that time and not necessarily for us today? Not saying that having children is wrong for others, but definitely for myself. However, I don’t want to not have children because of some idea that I have a better way and it’s not a sin, so it’s fine. I’d like to know what you think if you don’t mind going a little deeper. Thanks.
I think MacArthur covers the topic well in this clip m.ua-cam.com/video/IUOmvGptjII/v-deo.html He emphasizes that it’s a divine and delightful calling to have a family and raise children in the power of Christ. There’s nothing to fear! Romans 8:28. To avoid this design of God’s is cowardly, because He has given instruction on how to carry out His will for children. Don’t you know how Christ treated children? The kingdom of heaven belongs to them, He said. We ought to consider it all joy to raise a child and share the most important truth in the world with them. The truth that there is One Who loves them far more than you ever could as the most loving parent. One who laid His life down for them so that they might die to sin and live unto righteousness. Wouldn’t you want to expose them to this glorious truth? For them to behold Christ and have life in His Name. What if your parents had the same idea that you’re thinking and caused you to miss life? The experience of life is God’s kind blessing to us. Is it possible that despite your best efforts in parenting, your child(ren) might reject Christ? Of course. Having said that, God will be glorified regardless of their final state. Which is the purpose of our lives, to glorify Him. Not to mention, everything belongs to the Lord. The question you raise seems to carry a sense of ownership of your potential child. What do you have that you have not received? If God wills for you to have a child, they would belong to Him.
Actually, the Church (Body of Christ) established by Christ on the Foundation of the apostles in 33 AD, is the authority, not the Bible. Baptism, which is necessary for salvation, is the Chief sacrament for the forgiveness of sins.
And your Catechism?? Anyone who has the Holy Spirit indwelling (i.e a genuine Christian: Romans 8:9) knows 100% that the Bible is the Word of God and the ultimate authority.

Since few find the path that leads to life, why would anyone have children knowing that they’ll most likely end up in hell?
That’s actually a really sad thing to think about.
Lol like Tim already explained. They don't know/think they are on their way to hell nor do they think that about their children.
