Hi TC. These murders were done out of pure greed & corruption. How anyone like them doesn't have a conscience is the craziest behavior & should get the death penalty in my opinion. Mike thanks for another case solved & ready to give it another go on the next show. Peace, love, Janine Smiley✌😏😉😍😎😇🎵🎶
I'm surprised he didn't say he had to stab her in self defense. "I broke into her house to rob her and she lunged at me! I had a knife she could have hurt me with. What was I supposed to do?"

“He had no past of doing that” that we KNOW of. Criminals often have a long list of crimes that were never discovered. He may have had a juvenile record that was suppressed.
With teacher unions it is impossible to get fired. He did something real bad to get fired. Teachers that are pedophile just get moved to another district. They don't even put it on the record.
or just previous "adventures" breaking into neighbors' houses, or getting away with sexual assaults, or stealing and not being caught, whatever. No record doesn't mean a first time criminal. And being a school teacher doesn't make you an upstanding character, either, especially if you mysteriously stop without changing to a different job or career. There was a reason, just not one the ex-employed person wants people, especially cops, to know. This guy is OBVIOUSLY trying to trade on "teachers would never do crime!" social credit to let him get away with murder, hoping to scrape all the blame off onto the guy WITH a record. Pretty sure that happened to me, too as I was looking through Mikes stories and noticed I already “liked” this one but don’t recall the story at all! I remedied that straight away.
Sorry, Shawn behaves and interviews exactly like I'd expect a serial type murderer to respond. On the stand when he was saying what Tim "told him" happened, he actually looked at his own foot when he said Tim hit his foot on the bed. He did it, her was definitely there, and I would bet that Tim was just there for the robbery, and it was Shawn who, by his own rambling story, actually went back in and killed the victims. My guess is he's done it before. Glad he won't be getting out.
You should definitely look into Sean Vincent Gillis’ interrogation. He behaved kinda similarly from what I remember. My boyfriend used to live just a few houses down from the house where he ~u know~ and his then-girlfriend (who also gives very bad vibes) still lives there. It’s v dark
If he's done it before, you should get a side job as a sleuth :) I didn't think about that until you mentioned it. Why was he let go from teaching (or quit?) and what was he doing now? Did he have a career or a job now? And why?
Can you imagine him as the cheating husband..? Wife: "You cheated on me??" "No. I don't even know her!" "Well, I knew her from work. But that's it." That 911 call from the son in the beginning is exactly why you can’t judge how guilty or innocent someone sounds when they’re in shock. I was sure it was the son based on that call 😱
I honestly disagree, he is an army man with some character and i expect him to be familiar with the death reality ( yeah death is death but still he has been around it before), it is not expected that he would be breaking into tears, his breathing and shaking voice and tone when he said".. killed my mom" is more than enough to know that he is a strong man in distress. Extra feelings can never be a proof of honestly, saying that as a psychiatrist who has been working with psychopaths and ex murders.
@@imenbenkbaier246 I’m extremely worried about you being a psychiatrist and not understanding how being in the military and unexpectedly finding your own mother murdered are wildly different circumstances that would evoke extremely different reactions.
@@imenbenkbaier246 Also very odd that you think everyone who has been in the army is completely familiarized and is now longer effected by death. Do you actually know anyone in the military? You know people can have very different experiences right and not only that not everyone copes with it the same.
First you have yourself said that people react in different ways that's why it was wrong to judge fast. people react based on their life experiences, Emotional Personality ability of processing an acute situation and many other complex factors and that whether it is his mom or someone else. I see enough schock and distress in his 911 call that u obviously can't see and here we also as different people judge reactions differently, we cannot set a standard to how someone is supposed to react so you can judge it Normal / appropriate or not. Ans yeah i know people in army and i understand what you say and you are right on that but what i also know that there is a certain education , discipline that affect one's personnality and that's in many professional Fields and army is one of them so one requires some character. So to resume i don't find it odd or suspicious at all, the opposite. You can surely disagree based on your standards again of what's normal or appropriate reaction to finding your mom murdered. I wd like you to hear that 911 call one more time with high volume and full concentration on his breath and voice maybe you'll see what o saw. Nice day
I agree. When I heard the call I thought it sounded suspicious. People react in very different ways. Honestly I wouldn't know how I would react if I found my mother dead at her home. (Hope i never have to find out either)

TC "That Chapter" is one of a few crimes shows, that came out of the "Epidemic Quarantine" on top of the rest of it's peers. The unique kind of narration and live recording bloopers (or aren't ?) sold me.
Crazy how criminals think they'll never get caught, but always forget someone is ALWAYS unconsciously watching! Whether it be footage from your neighbors security cameras outside or a neighbor thermal scoping late at night! Heartless murderers like this deserve whatever consequences they get!
@@marys3127 whenever really terrible things happen in my life I have a delayed response. I'm fairly calm in the middle of it, but afterwards I lose my mind. It's useful in the moment, but really terrible later on.
You maintain calm because you have learned to. He was in the Navy and likely learned that he needed to communicate, at every less of stress, in a concise and clear manner. I learned this working in health care. There are likely recorded ambulance or police calls from me that sound exactly the same. No matter the circumstance, you learn to maintain the clear, concise communication. You learn and it becomes automatic. Things don't work in any other way. If you find the situation upsetting - well you deal with that afterwards.
@@casondrastinson8525 Same here. The crazier the situation, the calmer and more logical I become. But if I lose my keys or my phone, I am immediately a hot mess.
Losing his high school teaching position for no clear reason and living with his mother... I would guess old Shawn had a very disturbed psyche and was in the "caper"with Tim because murder was the interesting potential for him while Tim was in it for the money. Shawn didn't seem that bothered that he didn't get any cash out of the whole thing. Tim screwed up big time taking on a partner for those robberies. Shawn's vibe and behavior was very "off" in the video clip of the police interview and the clips of him talking in the courtroom, completely affectless (not to mention all the changing claims without batting an eyelid).
@susan ivy It seems to me he's confident that no matter how much he has to admit because the cops know he's lying, he can keep changing his story just a little bit each time and always make sure each version puts the "real blame" on the OTHER guy. Like he's SO sure that the buddy with the long criminal history can be made to look like he's the "real bad guy", not the "nice school teacher with no previous record." By the end, he's even admitting to the actual killing, but still pretending the whole thing was the OTHER guy's fault because he was the one who ended up with a little money from pawning the victim's necklace! "I'm the innocent one, I didn't even get paid after I stabbed her!"
@susan ivy 💜 AT ABOUT 16:52 OF THE VIDEO, IT'S SAID HOW SHAWN GANT TOOK SLEEP MEDS BEFORE THE POLICE INTERROGATION. WHY WOULD HE HAVE TAKEN THEM IN THE DAYTIME? DURING THE QUESTIONING, HE SEEMED TO BE NODDING OUT MORE THAN SLEEPING. SOMETHING THAT AN OPIATE USER DOES. SO WAS IT DRUG ADDICTION THAT GOT HIM FIRED AS A TEACHER? DID HE COME UP DIRTY ON A DRUG TEST? WAS THAT WHY HE LIVED WITH HIS MOTHER & WAS OUT COMMITTING CRIME'S? THEN HIS HABIT BECAME TOO MUCH & HE ESCALATED TO MURDER 😒 DEFINITELY A DEMON 😑

@A Publick Domain why do you doubt the second part? Its pretty much like testing out new glasses, you want to use it all the time because its new and cool. In terms on seeing in the dark: this is always just curiosity to seeing things you usually wouldnt see. Who wouldnt want to use it late at night just for fun and see what the deer are up to? I know I would
lol so first he "didn't know anything about it", then he was "in the same city", then he admitted "Okay, I was in the car as a passenger", then he admitted "Okay, I went inside, but I never killed her", then "Okay, I killed her but it was an accident". LMFAO
It was a really lucky coincidence a guy was testing his brand new freaking infrared camera across the street. If not for that I think he’s probably still a free man.
This was probably a fantasy in his vicious mind for a loooong time . Man probably jubilated watching this poor lady die. What a piece of sh*t, and to think he was spending his days with teenagers that were supposed to see him as a role model… sickening.
The next time a cop or prosecuting attorney say someone must be guilty because when they called 911 to report a family member found dead, they were cool as a cucumber, needs to watch this video. When Kathy Blair's son called 911, he was COOL AS A CUCUMBER, AND HE WAS NOT THE MURDERER.
I'd disagree. He lacked politeness in the call whereas there was a lot of urgency in the call. Both signs that he wasn't the killer. The calmness you perceived is probably from his military training that gave him the ability to size up the scene and explain it clearly to 911. I found it more interesting that the actual killer was able to say "I didn't kill her", as that is supposed to be a sign of someone who's more likely to be innocent. But I think in this case it was a sign of a psychopath.
truuue I thought the shoeprint would be his ahahah imagine seeing a loved one brutally murdered and blood everyone and you go like: "I think someone killed my mom" 😑

you see how classism played out in this. the guy who is a professional with an education and money gets a mistrial, but the dude who is a poor petty criminal is auto guilty in 3 hours
Yup I was waiting for Mike to say Not Guilty or 2nd mistrial he took so long Tim was Shawn's Patsy. Bet he did not have clue Shawn was going to kill, when he was done went back to car or called Tim inside so he would be implicated so could not report on him.
He had spent 30 years of his life in prison prior to this happening. More than just a "poor" petty criminal. The other guy had an education, but lost his ability to make $ with that education. Due to reasons Mike didn't know. He was working at 7 11 when he murdered these people. So it's safe to say he didn't have much by way of money. How about you use your pity on the 3 people who lost their lives to these shitstains.
Even if someone is extremely sleepy, being accused of murder would make them very alert. It's funny how naturally he talked about going there to steal jewellery, like it was normal, and not getting any money in the end.
Whenever someone has no obvious violent or concerning past, they need to do a full check on all that persons internet and computer stuff. I feel like the teacher dude was hiding something pretty well
Not all of us are psychopaths 😂. I have no violent or concerning past but legit all I do is work and come home and binge watch murder documentaries and mind my business 😂🤷♀️.
Makes me wonder if there were similar murders in Shawn’s neck of the woods. He could be a serial killer who preyed on his knowledge of Tim’s history of burglaries.
Maybe try saying thirty three and a third in Mike's Dublin accent (turrty tree an' a turrd) that'll REALLY confuse them. And when he says 'Schkale' in any of these videos, that means; Sceal which is the Irish word for 'story'. Which is appropriate for Mike !
Shawn should've gotten the death penalty for the 2 elderly couple murders. He brutally murdered those 2 on purpose. It seemed like he, Shawn, wanted to kill (anyone), and Tim just wanted money.
Can people buy that? My alarm sound right now sounds like, "Broken sippycup! Broken sippycup! Bash it up and smash it up and see if it holds water, Broken..." It's very unmotivating.
I'm friends with one of the grandkids of the elderly couple that were murdered. They live next to me. He doesn't like to talk about it obviously, but I appreciate you covering this story. Texas should have handed down the death penalty. This really affects him still to this day.
They could have steal from these victims when they were out of their homes and they wouldn't have to kill anyone, but I think Tim wanted the money and Sean wanted to kill so they came up with a plan where everyone would get what they wanted and that scary 😳
Sean had a science degree...maybe he was like a lot of other killers; what's inside?(gag) That's supposedly what Dahmer said when he was caught killing dogs, cats, etc. Gods, these types are less than scum. ✌🏻🐱

Just because Shawn had no documented criminal history, does not necessarily mean that he had no history of criminal behavior.
His affect during questioning was very, very strange. He also came across as an arrogant, lying creep in court and again showed no emotion. He struck me as one very creepy dude.

Shawn's interview was actually quite telling! He presented classic picture of a cold blooded serial killer/psychopath. Look how emotionless nonechalant & unbothered he looked during a criminal investigation!!! The fact that he didn't even "benefit" from the crime shows how he was in it for the killing

I was shocked to find out it wasn’t the son who committed the murder in this one. That first 911 call had me making assumptions!
Right!
me too.
Yup, he sounded very calm for just finding his mom
Same!
Yeah me too!
That 911 call from the son in the beginning is exactly why you can’t judge how guilty or innocent someone sounds when they’re in shock.

Sounds like he's a narcissistic sociopath... or psychopath. Definitely a narcissist.
Snap just said same. Should have saved time and read first.

I thought that too. The rolling of the eyes, the attempts to make out that he was actually the victim in all this. Scumbag.
What are the odds, some guy is out in the middle of the night playing with his new toy, a thermal imaging scope, that records too.
"...Texas...the Lone Star State."
@@karaamundson3964 Ha....you're right, didn't think of that.
What an amazing channel! Thanks Mike, you tell these horrific stories in a manner that respects murdered people. I appreciate that a lot.
I wake up friday morning and I think to myself: «Yay, it's friday, it's Mike's day!»
Get a life 😉
Love it!!!!
Do you really?!?!?! Or are you just trying to get a bunch of thumbs up on your comment. Because that's more likely, and far less weird!!!
He’s one of the only people I am subbed to that I really look forward to see upload🤓🎉 mike is dope

Don’t be a debbie downer. Didn’t your parents teach you if you don’t have anything nice to say, best to keep quiet?? Mike’s awesome and his viewers enjoy both the effort it takes to do this and the tales he tells.
For the first time in my life I said to myself "Brilliant, he's posted!....I'm gonna give it a goo!". Holey crap....Mike...you've got me hooked! First YT channel to get me like this! Keep up the great work!
Tuesdays and Fridays 👍 mark ya calender. Usually around 3pm Eastern Standard Time here in GA, USA. Whatever time that correlates to in your area 🙂
This episode contains a rare “triple tree”.
Was looking for this comment That Chapter/ Mike O fans truly want a few trees... Tree Trees is quite rare!!

you see how classism played out in this. the guy who is a professional with an education and money gets a mistrial, but the dude who is a poor petty criminal is auto guilty in 3 hours
Yeah. Bet he's the type that'd pass a polygraph easily.
You must not do drugs.
@Bee Dot
Drugs don't completely dampen a person's physical response to adrenaline.
Do you mean that you think he has done this before? Interesting. That's what I think too.
@@brikitty1874 Same except for the bag of m&ms in my hand
Makes me wonder if there were similar murders in Shawn’s neck of the woods. He could be a serial killer who preyed on his knowledge of Tim’s history of burglaries.
Don’t thank us for watching Mike, we are here to thank you for the content. We owe you, not the other way around
I've said "Let's give it a goo" to my friends so many times and every time they have no idea what I'm talking about...hahaha love ya Mike
@@MultiHumptyDumpty 😅😅
Shawn should've gotten the death penalty for the 2 elderly couple murders. He brutally murdered those 2 on purpose. It seemed like he, Shawn, wanted to kill (anyone), and Tim just wanted money.
i need my alarm to be ‘let’s give it a goo’ because then id actually wake up
That’s actually an awesome idea! 😆💓
I'd want it as my ringtone.
@@MsRedwiz that’s a splendid idea
Can people buy that? My alarm sound right now sounds like,
"Broken sippycup! Broken sippycup! Bash it up and smash it up and see if it holds water,
Broken..."
It's very unmotivating.
I'm friends with one of the grandkids of the elderly couple that were murdered. They live next to me. He doesn't like to talk about it obviously, but I appreciate you covering this story. Texas should have handed down the death penalty. This really affects him still to this day.
One of the tree grand kids ;)
Idk he looks EXACTLY like a guy who would kill at random to me
yea he looks like Ted Bundy ...
It's them Manson lamps....
Just for the thrill
Great streroytyping he/she looks guilty case solved
@@thetruthk5138 pretty sure nobody said that but you pal. I was addressing Mike's statement of the "unlikely suspect". Have several seats.
I wonder if that was the case. We may never know. It was disgusting behavior either way.
I said that same thing out loud, to my cats....
When watching this, and I shuddered at the cold blooded mentality.
@@madisoncannoles4907 Did the cats have any reply or did they just look at you like usual? Lol. Fellow cat lover. 🤍
YES!! I just commented pretty much the same thing!
The thing I love about this channel is he never asks us to like comment and subscribe. Yet he always delivers fascinating crime stories keep it up mike your one of the few good crime channels out here.
Note to viewer: Do NOT try to binge watch all episodes while playing on the playstation, while entertaining as hell you will get nightmares of you being wrongfully accused.
I did it successfully. But that's probably because I was on Xbox 🤷♀️
Did Mike at least cover the accusations/case?

FYI: many states' criminal codes prevent convictions SOLELY on the defendant's admission. There has to be corroborating evidence. This is to avoid crazies from just admitting to things they didn't do.
But even were there are such laws and regulations it still happens. Such as in the "Quick case" / "Sture Bergvall case".
It's amazing to me how many false confessions there are for murder.
His shoe print was at the scene. Blood was found on passenger side and light switch. Plenty of evidence to corroborate his confession.
And it also stops detectives from getting a false confession from someone who has a low IQ.
