I'm most excited about Sangu Mandana's A Witch's Guide to Magical Innkeeping!! And I've never read Leigh Bardugo before, but I just added The Familiar to my hold list at my library so hopefully I'll get a copy soon when it comes out. Thank you for another lovely video!
Me too, I think. Irregular Witches just hit all of the right notes for me 😊 If you get to The Familiar before I do, I'd love to hear your thoughts! Thanks for watching 💛
Wow the cover of hagstone is gorgeous. I love the colours. 😍 Omg i had no idea sally rooney was coming out with a book this year. Definitely will be on my radar Ive been trying to read more backlist books this year but theres so many great new releases!!!
Yeah, I think the Sally Rooney one was only announced a week or two ago 😍 Ah, it's the eternal struggle as a reader, isn't it? So many books and not nearly enough time 🥲
I hope you enjoy it! I was so frustrated with that book in the beginning, I won't lie, but after a while I put my expectations aside and became absolutely absorbed by the characters 😊
I was wondering if you are going to read any of the 16 books on the longlist for the Women's Prize for Fiction. I thought you might be interested in either The Blue, Beautiful World, by Karen Lord (a quirky twist on sci-fi) or The Maiden, by Kate Foster (an historical fiction/thriller). I just finished Western Lane by Chetna Maroo. Liked it a lot but not quite sure yet what I read.
Thanks for the recommendations, I'll certainly look them up 🙂 I'm trying to focus heavily on reading the books on my shelves this year so I haven't paid the longlist too much attention but I imagine I'll get around to some of them eventually. The book I'm currently reading (Circe) was shortlisted in 2019, so I'm quite a bit behind 😅
Why do I mostly want to add US authors to my tbr😬🤣? IMO, Colm Toibin has to be added to your list with his novel "Long Island," coming out on May 23th. I love all his books that I've read so far (about 9). I am sending lots of Cape Townian sunshine over to you, we have it abundantly here🌞🌞🌞!
Oh I'm sorry. I think US authors are heavily marketed to Irish consumers, so it feels like they're everywhere for me. I'd actually love to read Long Island but I still haven't read Brooklyn so it'll have to be on the back burner for me for now. I hope you thoroughly enjoy it when you get to it! Colm Tóibín is actually from the next town over from me, so only a 20ish minute drive but I've yet to meet him 😅 Thanks for the sun! It hasn't stopped raining since this video went up ☔
@aiscahill no need to be sorry, I think US books are marketed heavily everywhere... Is it known where Colm Toibin lives, as in, where exactly his house is? If so, I would be pretty excited to live near him😁!
@@azu_rikka I believes he lives in Dublin now, so about maybe 2 hours away. I'm unsure about exactly where his family home is, or whether it exists still. I'm not sure whether you're aware, or if you'd be interested, but he's doing an event in London in May as an introductory thing for Long Island and I believe they're live streaming it too so you can buy a ticket to view it online, if that's your thing 😊
Yesss, I’m really excited for Instructions for Travelling West ☀️
Me too! I think it's the first time I've ever been so acutely aware of a poetry book pre-publication 😊
Ohhhh theres so many new ones here i had not heard of that just got added to my tbr!!!! Thank you for this video aisling!!! ❤️💕💗🙌🤩
I'm trying so hard to not pay attention to new releases and yet here we are 😂💛

I'm really excited to see what Leigh Bardugo is going to do with a stand-alone...I have high hopes!
Me too! I'll also be curious to see whether it actually remains a standalone after publication 😅
I send you flowers from California 🌷🌷🌷
Thanks for being here ☺️
I am looking forward to the next book after Irregular Witch.
Me too! I was so surprised by how Irregular Witches swept me away so completely so fingers crossed for more of the same ☺️

😊💛
Checking out Amor Towles - it’s an author I’ve never come across but keen to read Lincoln Highway! Thanks 😊
I hope you enjoy it! I was so frustrated with that book in the beginning, I won't lie, but after a while I put my expectations aside and became absolutely absorbed by the characters 😊
Rob sent me. He said to say that. 😊😂
Haha good man Rob. I was briefly chatting to him yesterday and this comment makes much more sense now! Thanks for being here 😊
