I had a HERO 3+ like you I wanted something with a line in. Mine didn’t work properly from the start and I had bought it second hand, and it kept eating my SD cards, a firm ware issue I think, but didn’t have the tech knowledge to fix so sold it on as broken. Now got a Sony AS15 again second hand, but totally unused and never lets me down. Again one of the few cameras with a mic line in it seems, That was a good fix Andy. Very fiddly.
Spanner Monkey the sony action cams are a great camera and the image stabilisation really helps with video quality
Yeah I know, I have found it so much better and totally reliable compared to the GoPro, and the image stabilisation is great. I paid about £90 for it new old stock, unused, still in original unopened packaging.
Nicely done, how to turn a decent profit with little outlay, if you were lucky, you could turn a couple of those per month and have a reasonable bike fund :)

I know this was a couple of years back, but I’ve just torn down my GP4 black in hopes of bringing it back to life after it just refused to turn on.
Ive tried every suggestion so far from button pressing sequences to changing batteries, cables and memory cards and thinking there’s something hardware related that has failed.
Any suggestions?
It’s not been in water or dropped, it simply worked one day then wouldn’t turn on the next.
Geez mate, sorry but I have no idea. Have you tried connecting to a computer via USB to see if it can download new firmware?
