So glad I found your channel mate. I'm loving these videos. Yeah the little Mitsubishi L300. Coping well with all that. I've got an L400, I love it!!!! I need to join a club so I can explore with a little more confidence, and enjoy these epic views first hand.
@@realneilsadventures I got plenty of time to watch videos I’m parked up in bed I was involved in a head on collision just out of Blenheim broke both my ankles but the right ankle needed more repairs , just had it done so I got lots of time ATM cheers
Found your channel the other week and have subbed, really like your videos thanks. Beautiful country up the rangitata. How many kms from Peel Forest would you say it was up to the hut where you camped if you know by any chance?
at Carneys creek head across to the Curtis Memorial Hut is a long grass island on the true left of the havelock with a good track on it that leads to the hut. The bolders have been breeding on the Forbes river just before mistake flat the last few years st winifrids hut is a cool spot a bit more up the valley if you want a bit of a challenge you want to give yourself 3 day's to enjoy it if you go that far.

The L 300 does all the tracks we do. Joining the club taught me where I can go 4WDriving.
Thank you for that. It all looked very different back in 1989 when I got there with my friend Karl in my LR 2A.
Glad you enjoyed it
Amazing video, my fav part is the foggy river crossing at the start.
Yes, it was unusual weather conditions at the start of the valley.
Some great footage Neil!!! What a lovely adventure
Thanks Poppy
Yeah that’s on my agenda not as bad as I thought I have been to growler hut great video
Yes, I thought it would be harder than this.

It's 50km from Peel Forest to Mesopotamia Station where you turn onto the river track, then about 30km or so on the tracks
@@realneilsadventures Thanks be nice to head up some day. Look forward to your next adventure 👍
Do you have to crawl to lease holders to get access?
No, as long as you follow the DOC sign to Havelock you are on the river.
What snorkel do you run on the Fortuner
I have the Toyota oem on my N80 comments say they are not that well sealed
Ta
Gazz
It's a Toyota snorkel, I got Toyota to install it before I got the car.
@realneilsadventures So far it’s performing OK then ?
@@GazzMcara I haven't been in deep water yet, so it's just a high air intake to get less dust.
