Motel 6 is a chain, with likely thousands of locations across the US.
I will say that the cheapest & seediest places do tend to attract the seediest people, best stay where normal folks stay.

While we appreciate you making these videos and seeing how things are, I think it's best for you to find a place that won't cause you this amount of distress.

If you want to leave the US with fond memories find yourself at least a decent hotel and enjoy your stay. You deserve it for all the crap you are putting yourself through.
Adam. Once you roll in at 3am with a couple of birds you won’t be worried about a loose ceiling tile or dodgy lock.

Have a bit respect for the cleaners and CSI they have had to clean blood and bodily fluids off everything in your room before you got there. They are brand new sheets and mattresses you saw the old ones outside because the blood and fluids had seeped through the old ones and into the room below.The door locks will be fixed next week because the murderer said he'd be back soon so what's the point of fixing it till he's smashed back in. The shower curtain was ripped down to transport a corpse and the fridge has body parts in so the cleaning job wasn't too bad. You can't expect a head to be in the fridge without losing a few hairs. On the bright side you might survive long enough to watch the match. Enjoy your stay!🙈😆

Adam, not sure what area you are in but anywhere within 5 miles of the Red Bull Arena is a no stay area, you should have gone to Hoboken, a little bit pricier but still cheaper than NYC and loads of bars and restaurants. I'll be at todays game as i live in NJ (formerly Whitley Bay)

That's an eye opener. 30 years ago the Motel 6 change was really good. Cheap but clean like the Travel Lodge. I'd always stay in them if I could and would recommend them. The problem seems to be they haven't been cleaned for 30 years. I don't like that door either. Stay safe Adam and keep up the good work.

😂😂That's a big change from the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta. I was staying there too and said hello to you outside the fan zone. Stay away from budget hotels in urban areas. Cleanliness is not your main concern in those places.
Lol I think someone has watched too many movies. Yes that motel is gipping and wouldn't pass any inspections in the uk but, it certainly not the worst place you could have stayed in NYC.
You could go to one of the hostels after the game, Jazz hostels in the city are really good, one has a rooftop area where you can take your beers up the top and chill out with other travelers from across the world, I think its on 96th street on the hudson side of central park. Usually turns into a great piss up. And not far to go anywhere on the underground. NYC is such a great city. Go explore, enjoy and take in the vibrant city for what it is.

common smell issues in motel 1 carpets 2 the ventilation system filter more likely clogged and never been cleaned for years a simple clean up .. wonder if you climbed up in the ceiling you actually end up above the ceiling of the room next door wouldnt be surprised if it did

Adam, the American english 'translation' for Motel is 'motor-hotel' meaning you drive up to your door. (It's "open" like you said, too open right?) You can't go too cheap in the US by staying at motels unless you're really desperate. Get ye to a hotel my good lad!

syayed in a few Motel 6's in my time traveling round Arizona, Nevada and California, not the best of places to stay, tried looking for stuff with our phone torches but gave up n went to sleep instead
Try The Jade East Motel, Jamaica, New York. I stayed there a couple of years ago on my way to Australia. The place was clean enough and the attached cafe served huge breakfasts with bottomless coffee, prices for rooms was also reasonable. All in all I had a positive experience there.

Well the "Austrian Affair" Bedbugs villa.. was something.- When a traveling team had the best hotel outside Newcastle the rates went double and were full so we had to stay at a discounted motorlodge in Washington square run by Fans of the other team from europe when we checked in the desk lady saw my NUFC cap she said dont wear that around here..she took our corporate discount card waiting for me to hide me cap in the jacket before givign us a key;3 that room m an.. you have id have a chair and table infront the door. and sleep on the floor by the AC with a lamp near. then send pics to the corporate of that unsafe door

It's one star motel, people just go there to sleep, it looks alright to me, just a bit old, . But safety concerns is something you should take seriously, this does give me Alfred Hitchcock vibes, not gonna lie, but it's a way to explore American culture I guess. Nothing is more American than motel after all
