SlickRick4EVER I think salah started in the early 90’s. It’s pretty amazing. There’s videos of salah and Bruce being judged together and just being friends. They’re both amazing.
Salah, as I've seen, is pretty hit and miss. A lot of the time his performances aren't fantastic. I mean, he's sick, but the majority of what I've seen doesn't really show his best. Bruce killed it, without a doubt.
U can see that Bruce has much respect for Salah (and vice versa) which he shows every now and then by cheering Salah when he comes on strong. But perhaps the clearest is @ 3:28 when he is about to do one of Salahs trademark moves "lifting his shirt to reveal his insane stomach as if he was only to wipe the sweat from his forehead" but then doesnt finish the move ending his turn while making a statement and suggesting to Salah to keep strickly with in the context of poppin.
Bruce won cuz he has more technicality and salah lost well hes an entertainer the judges vote on who popped better not on who could entertain the crowd salah is still sick with it but bruce won cuz he does some crazy moves which i bet almost no one couuld possibly do unless the practiced a lot
how could you tell if you've seen salah's back almost all the time? it was a tight battle. Bruce is very funky and has great moves, his waves are one of a kind. And salah is an excellent popper that uses many tricks, mostly because he's not just a dancer, he's an artist.
I don't agree that Salah is the superior dancer at all, i used to love Salah, but now, his stuff doesn't impress me, he does the same stuff in all his dance battles, with Bruce, he is completely versatile, every move links with flow, originality and best of all.. Style! Bruce is by far the best dancer around and Salah didn't see it coming and LOST, respect to my main man Bruce Ykanji

He does a circus act, I mean swingin a hat around your body is not dancing, i see a battle recently of him, and he pulled a load cloth out his mouth!! That is a circus act, not a dance performence!

My theory is that the crowd was biased. You could clearly tell. EVERYONE that I've shown this video to, including people who have no idea WHO Salah is, because I don't want a biased judgement, says that Salah clearly should've won. Bruce was dope as HELL, don't get me wrong, but Salah shoulda won. Whenever I tell the people I show this video to, that he lost, they are ALWAYS surprised.
to me, dance is first and foremost about expressing, not impressing. And btw not every so-called dancer has his own groove, many many dancers lack any kind of groove. In my opinion you don't just dance by doing movements... and entertaining and dancing is so not the same... of course you are entertained by Bruce as well but if the whole point of your performance is to show off, that sucks.
you cant really say what a real dancer does or is, because anything u do is a real dance, its up to you and what you want to do to the music. but if you watch salah in any com he tells a story and yes he does finished moves and yes i get tired of seein the same things sometimes but the skill level to even the same moves that they both do no com and the flow of the center of gravity as well

It's hard to decide and I wished I could say "both are equally good" without sounding lame. bruce has the same 'ol moves. salah is just free stylin and outperformed him. bruce is good, but he aint salah quality. salahs moves are not prechoreographed, but he just pulls them in accordance to the music and beat thats happening at the moment. if bruce was any good, he would be a top performer at the world championships. salahs been there, done that, and has many world titles under his belt.
that was FUCKIN' INSANE!! i think this was a little bit more in bruce's favour (unfortunately) both INCREDIBLE poppers, but i think if salah would have put more of an effort in his first round (which he definitely has in him) then he could have beaten ykanji. maybe not by a landslide, but still would have beaten him. salah remains king. but i have to say this is an amazing battle.
both are excellent. as a matter of fact, bruce could be labeled as the next up and coming SALAH. the difference? experience. just look at the videos, salahs been competing for years and years, and has a whole repitoire of moves to call upon. bruce is awesome. very technically sound in many of his moves, and has a wide variety. but not as wide a variety as salah. and the competition experience of salah, in appealing to the crowd and his timing with the music is why is rates #1.
everyone does the same moves as they do all the time its there moves. you try making moves and forgeting all the old moves WHy? you dont need to dancing isnt the moves its the dancers ablity to express old or new moves. and salah doesnt do the same exact moves he put in different moves but mixes in his signature moves. signatures are always used to show style and flash(and win the battle easier/faster)

salah is an intelligent dancer. he makes surprises while dancing but this performance is very poor for him i think plus he s not feeling it. Bruce is a good dancer very active and speedy but don't forget dance is an art and it s in the show business. In this way salah is more creative, more artistic, more impressive and more successful than bruce. This is very very clear.
Whats with the audience in cheering for Bruce when he didn't do much that was special -__- Like when Salah did his hat move that was just crazy and like no seemed impressed! That video was taken in Düsseldorf/Germany. Bruce and Salah are known there for years and many of the people there took classes by both of them. Both are very resprected dancers(!) in the german dance scene so i doubt anyone was really biased, just prefered Bruce's style over Salah's and i think that's ok.
Man, we watchin' the same video? Bruce was spinnin on his toes on one foot...and then on two, perfectly. That's hard. Salah's move, while sweet, doesn't really match up to that. On two hands and feet...idk man. Though, both of them shoulda got more noise for different moves, that sure as hell wasn't their best. I respect what you think tho man. Peace.
From an amateurish but unprejudiced standpoint, Salah's moves impacted me more than Bruce's, though many are annuciating that Bruce won. I feel Salah's just more flexible and less rigid prior to this battle. If anyone can get an affirmation to the REAL scores, it would be helpful. As for the closure, Salah obviously took the lead. Both rock, but Salah = wow.
When i started popping all i did was basically "power moves" if i was using breaking terms to say. but then after watching countless battles and getting advice from pros .. the way to win battles is not through Power " salah" but through style and hitting beats using some power moves with them" being just technical poppers isn't good enough..

the judges probABLY seen all bruce's moves what does that mean? honestly if its smoothness;salah wins number of creative moves:salah tricks:salah bruce is just new and has mystery factor to us but put all his on here we all will get used to seeing his moves. but he wont get recognition like salah because is the best. but bruce is good.
I think both dancer were great but, I really think Salah didn't come hard this time b/c he felt he had it in a bag. I mean to be truthful Bruce is nice but he's NO Bionic man or J smooth. he uses his moves in every battle. how many times have you seen the tissue come out, or watch him go into a hollow back, or flip his shoe up into his hand, or roll his hat down his arm. he is very repetitve in some respect. not taking credit away from him but. like i said he is unique and original in that no body does what he does but that doesnt take away repetitiveness...

i think what happens with salah is he has a certain set of moves he's going to do in each round for example his first round he was planning on doing that hat trick etc. where as i think bruce more or less freestyles and collaberates with the music and just dances instead of doing set moves.

Bruce is very good with coordination. Salah seemed not as tight as Bruce. But Salah got something else: artistic and creative moves that show wit and taste.

unlike most poppers who do the same moves most of the time, Salah had his own style, he's oroginal. If you get bored watching him now, I'm pretty sure you'll get bored watching Bruce in a couple of weeks/months. You need to stop watching too many videos.

I hope everyone sees that the angle of this video is somewhat misleading. I mean we see all of Bruce's moves directly from the front, as if he were performing for us. But Salah's we only see from the back. Still i liked Bruce better here.

Pablossoyos is 100% correct, you cannot see Salah as well in this video because of the angle. I have actually seen both of them dance better, so it is hard to say who would beat who on a consistent basis. My hat is off to both of them!!
tHe was better that day but overall he doesnt yet have the variety of moves and crowd appeal of salah. That will come as he competes more Bruce hits hard though, want to see more tuts and dimestopping for variety and pop the head!

Bruce won. The judges thought it was a draw after these two rounds, but after the extra round they gave it to Bruce. I personally think, he already won after two rounds, but I guess the judges wanted to give the crowd an extra treat.

everyone does the same moves as they do all the time its there moves. you try making moves and forgeting all the old moves WHy? you dont need to dancing isnt the moves its the dancers ablity to express old or new moves. and salah doesnt do the same exact moves he put in different moves but mixes in his signature moves. signatures are always used to show style and flash(and win the battle easier/faster)

salah is an intelligent dancer. he makes surprises while dancing but this performance is very poor for him i think plus he s not feeling it. Bruce is a good dancer very active and speedy but don't forget dance is an art and it s in the show business. In this way salah is more creative, more artistic, more impressive and more successful than bruce. This is very very clear.

That video was taken in Düsseldorf/Germany. Bruce and Salah are known there for years and many of the people there took classes by both of them.
Both are very resprected dancers(!) in the german dance scene so i doubt anyone was really biased, just prefered Bruce's style over Salah's and i think that's ok.
Man, we watchin' the same video? Bruce was spinnin on his toes on one foot...and then on two, perfectly. That's hard. Salah's move, while sweet, doesn't really match up to that. On two hands and feet...idk man. Though, both of them shoulda got more noise for different moves, that sure as hell wasn't their best. I respect what you think tho man. Peace.
From an amateurish but unprejudiced standpoint, Salah's moves impacted me more than Bruce's, though many are annuciating that Bruce won. I feel Salah's just more flexible and less rigid prior to this battle. If anyone can get an affirmation to the REAL scores, it would be helpful. As for the closure, Salah obviously took the lead. Both rock, but Salah = wow.
When i started popping all i did was basically "power moves" if i was using breaking terms to say. but then after watching countless battles and getting advice from pros .. the way to win battles is not through Power " salah" but through style and hitting beats using some power moves with them" being just technical poppers isn't good enough..
Bruce iz jus out of diz world!! i knw therez a lot of salah fanboyz out there who knw no other popper than salah and will throw butthurt responses at anyone who sayz salah lost.. but man if u really appreciate salah like i do.. then give him his losses too.. diz iz gonna be shockin but.. the judges probABLY seen all bruce's moves what does that mean? honestly if its smoothness;salah wins number of creative moves:salah tricks:salah bruce is just new and has mystery factor to us but put all his on here we all will get used to seeing his moves. but he wont get recognition like salah because is the best. but bruce is good.
I think both dancer were great but, I really think Salah didn't come hard this time b/c he felt he had it in a bag. I mean to be truthful Bruce is nice but he's NO Bionic man or J smooth. Therefore Salah figured he could beat him without turnin up the heat, but it didn't go as planned. Much respect to both dancers!!!!
he uses his moves in every battle. how many times have you seen the tissue come out, or watch him go into a hollow back, or flip his shoe up into his hand, or roll his hat down his arm. he is very repetitve in some respect. not taking credit away from him but. like i said he is unique and original in that no body does what he does but that doesnt take away repetitiveness...
For total originality...Bruce by far..with no tricks...Bruce...flow and constant movement...bruce...i love Salah, but Bruce is by far the better dancer..Bruce takes the win

i think what happens with salah is he has a certain set of moves he's going to do in each round for example his first round he was planning on doing that hat trick etc. where as i think bruce more or less freestyles and collaberates with the music and just dances instead of doing set moves.

i agree with adambrashaw Salah does some moves almost in every routine but Bruce is so fluid and on beat Salah lost in this theres no use in getting fan bash when even in the contest the judges voted in favor of Bruce

Bruce is very good with coordination. Salah seemed not as tight as Bruce. But Salah got something else: artistic and creative moves that show wit and taste.

unlike most poppers who do the same moves most of the time, Salah had his own style, he's oroginal.
If you get bored watching him now, I'm pretty sure you'll get bored watching Bruce in a couple of weeks/months. You need to stop watching too many videos.
if u know these guys. salah has the same moves over and over. he can't improvise. it's the same hat routine and telescope arm.. or he does his handkerchief thing over and over. yawn... same routine. look up salah and watch him do the same move over and over.
I hope everyone sees that the angle of this video is somewhat misleading. I mean we see all of Bruce's moves directly from the front, as if he were performing for us. But Salah's we only see from the back. Still i liked Bruce better here.

Pablossoyos is 100% correct, you cannot see Salah as well in this video because of the angle. I have actually seen both of them dance better, so it is hard to say who would beat who on a consistent basis. My hat is off to both of them!!
tHe was better that day but overall he doesnt yet have the variety of moves and crowd appeal of salah. That will come as he competes more Bruce hits hard though, want to see more tuts and dimestopping for variety and pop the head!

but still a move losses its flavor after so many views in so many battles the same move isn't going to do much after judges see it and even the public see it. It makes your dance predictable and that isn't a good thing last time i checked.
IMO, Bruce's styl is bettr than Salah's. Salah is a mastr of wrkng a crowd. Salah knows exactly how to win a battle. But 4 sum reasn, here, he relied on style vs. style. No way he can fuk with Bruce like that.

Bruce won. The judges thought it was a draw after these two rounds, but after the extra round they gave it to Bruce. I personally think, he already won after two rounds, but I guess the judges wanted to give the crowd an extra treat.
no i'm not blind... "groove" is not about doing impressing moves, and I just think Salah lacks groove, which is more important to me than any other thing in dancing, for I think that's the whole point of it. My opinion.

You obviously don't understand what real dancing is. Bruce is a serious hip hop dancer as well as he is a popper. the guys a friggin legend in europe right now. friggin has a nike commercial for freestyling in europe.
