- This is a totally original, unrestored, low mileage show stopper. It has 100% original paint from the factory. Nothing has ever been touched up or "spotted in". It still retains original tires. It's nicely equipped with factory air conditioning, tilt steering wheel, deluxe body side molding, color keyed floor mats, door edge guards, twin remote sport mirrors, cruise control, AM/FM stereo radio, deluxe bumpers and guards, auxiliary lighting, and landau top. This car is spectacular! It is the ultimate survivor 1976 Monte Carlo with 28,625 actual miles.
Documentation: The car is fully documented with all important paper work including the dealer invoice, owner's manual, window sticker, and build sheet.
Engine: 145 horsepower 350 2-barrel V8. Notice that there are even factory chaulk marks on the valve covers!
Transmission. As with all Montes, GM inserted the three-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic automatic.
Underside: This car looks like it has received a body off the frame rotiserie restoration, but it hasn't. It's better than that. This is all factory untouched original. Notice the frame stencil on the passenger side of the vehicle. Originality is what you're getting with this car.
Wheels and Tires: The Turbine II wheels that came with the Landau package are original to the car. The tires are the original General Dual Steel two GR 70-15 radials that came with the car including the air from 1976. The excellent condiion of the original tires attest to the low miles on the car. Note the amount of tread remaining on the original tires.
My grandfather passed away a few months ago. Just found out he left me his 1976 Monte carlo with less than 10k original miles. He kept it inside his climate controlled garage, kept it washed and waxed. Best part about it, he bought it fully loaded!!! Still has plastic on the seats. I just sit and stare at it as im scared to drive it. Im planning on getting its blue paint ceramic coated soon. Maybe ill drive it then
Sorry to hear the sad news about your grandfather. Your Monte Carlo description sounds even better than my car. The family connection to the car is wonderful.
Drive the car
I own a 1976 Monte Carlo white with a full Burgundy roof, I bought the car in November 1988 ...39,000 miles on her in my junior year of High School off the original owner who I did yard work for .I’m the second owner I’ve kept mine out of the winter months all these years still love driving that Land Yacht 🛥 🇺🇸🙌😎🙌🇺🇸
My parents had a 77 monte, not heavily loaded, but they did purchase the heavy duty/sport suspension....Best $50 they ever could have spent...That car was so tight and handled pretty well also...
So jealous, beautiful car!!
I'm glad the Monte and the 72 Caprice are still together. Both are well-kept survivors. I knew the original owner.
This and the related Grand Prixs, Cutlasses and Regal were just about everywhere...and even at the time in which they came out!
Nice my parents bought the exact same car in 1976 same color (Firetone red)same white half top same 350 brand new . I learned to drive in that car and got my first piece of tail in the car .. They sold it in 83 .I loved that car ..
Me gusta el carro un Chevrolet Monte Carlo Landau 1976; es uno de mis favoritos; saludos y buenos días
Congratulations! That is a SWEET car. I wanted a 76 REAL bad back in my late teens early 20's, just never had the type of money that allowed it.
LOVE IT 💘!!!!! I wish I still had my 77!!!
This is a very nice car from 1976. It looks great.
I had a 1976 emerald green metallic w/tan Landau roof in 1982...loved it🤩..it replaced .y 5 speed '73 camaro. Loved them both❤
Omg this car is still in such an excellent shape😍. Absolute beautiful 🤩. The owner is a lucky guy( I'm jealous 🙊😉). Thanks for showing us this!
This car is going to be sold t no reserve during Back to the 50's by Mid Auctions.
Mine was exactly like this, same color Landau. 400 Quadrojet. Center console. I ordered it special.
Absolutely beautiful!
My Dad's 76MC was also low mileage (26.6k when he passed in 2001), garage kept, and only driven on beautiful days. His was the reverse coloring: white paint, with maroon Landau vinyl top, and maroon vinyl interior. Fully loaded with P/L, P/W, A/C, swivel buckets, split rear window, floor shifter and console.
I always loved when he would take it out, or heck, I just loved admiring it's beauty in the garage -- the sculpt on this car is GORGEOUS, to say nothing of the FLOATING, COMFORTABLE ride, and EASY steering!!
I especially liked your note about "the original 1976 air, in the original tires." This was something my Dad had also noted when one had eventually fallen victim to dry rot on a brief road trip -- probably best to get a fresh set of tires on there if you're planning on doing any driving other than local.
Man, do I miss those days, I miss my Dad, and I miss that car.
Thanks for bringing back such great memories. You have a real survivor and collector piece there! Enjoy, and thank you, again!
great looking car
Saw one of these today in a junk yard, rip
sweet I had a 77 silver gray with red wine interior swivel bucket seats with a landau roof the same color of the car 350 4bbl carb i wanted to keep that car till I died but the area i lived in i needed 4 wheel drive i was sorry i let it go best car i ever owned
What an amazing time capsule indeed...With the original tires that don't even appear cracked....Just wish I knew how folks can keep a car so nicely....Even left in the garage, the would still be a little surface rust on that frame, and worn rubber seals, etc...The garage must have been climate controlled... What a beautiful car. Too bad the rest of us didn't appreciate cars like this back when we had them....
Um....Why is there a 1977 hood ornament on it? I question survivor status. I have a 76, with much wear, that I've owned since 1980. It is a 100% original "survivor" Having said that....very nice car!
Good eye! I don't know, MAYBE the time of year it was made & sold, toward the end of the model year???
Thats a 1977 monte carlo a 76 did not come with the hood ornament
@@painisreal4299 If it's a 77 it's got 76 taillights. 77 had the two separated lines going across
the width with the logo in the middle. This has the plain red lights with the logo in the middle.
@@ZippyThePinhead your 100% right
@@painisreal4299 Maybe we can agree it's the bastard child of the 76/77 Monte. LOL
Garage Kept!.
Good lord...all that 50 year old rubber...
Can the smog stuff of and make it more powerful ?? Thanks great car !
I Own a 76monty same color. BUT Without the Vinyl top. But I Believe that is a 77 because of the hood ornament.
