I seriously love the catchphrase "ONLY IN TDX", especially the development that's progressed over the years (ONLY IN TDX!!!!), WHICH feels just like yesterday. I'm honestly hyped up for this game from the dedication put into it.

Pretty cool video, I have never personally played this Tower Defense game so I am going to consider trying it out. I think the strategy you used to defeat the boss was awesome. I will use this strategy in the future.

can't wait for this game to come out also this has probably already been considered but it'd be cool to see a super hard mode/hidden wave or something where the tower attacking enemies have maxed out/very good AI (targets higher level/higher value/medic/healing towers)
The health system adds alot to the gameplay i imagine a tower that would specialise in tanking and tower that can health other towers i hope TDX will be more niche instead of being another td game where you cheese everything with high dps towers

I think the health thing is really balanced cuz you cant spam cheap towers to distract bosses stuns cuz they’ll die instantly, while your higher tier towers will survive a few attacks
Hey John, I have a bit of an interesting suggestion, the more damage a tower has taken, the slower they fire, im not sure if this would make the game way too hard in the harder modes, where towers are dying and getting hurt left and right though
Granted how fragile towers are, I think them dying without compensation is enough of a nerf to towers. Adding the slower fire per damage taken on top of that would be too much, I feel.
Yeah, thinking about it now, it’d definitely be too punishing on some of the harder gamemodes and waves, perhaps something minor, 5% less firing speed once damaged, max it could go up to would be 20% at very low health
its good seeing the towers have auctual consequences to protecting thier base like they dont only get stunned and get ignored by enemies they aucually die so the enemies dont just walk untill they reach the end they also fight back
@GDILIVES you should make it so in nightmare mode the boss from intermediate mode comes back upgraded (as a mini boss) because at 12:49 he sems to fly away badly damaged (not completely destroyed/dead).
He has confirmed the eradicater is coming back in [REDACTED] wich is nightmare and the other form of him with all the mini guns and stuff is probably his stronger form.
I love the idea. But instead of coming out of the hole in the side of the map I think that he should land from the sky and walk across the path. Another cool thing they should add is that when he looses health his armour gets chipped away.
Wow, this game actually looks like a good td game. It doesnt just copy and paste everything from other tower defense games, it actually introduces new mechanics for the players to experiment with.
Idea for when the game is released: make a yearly event where on the discord, you hold a competition for best tower idea/best enemy idea/best miniboss idea/best boss idea, as well as best ugc map. They must have a design as well as a unique mechanic on how they work(everything but the maps).
You should add a map called ''The Titan'', with a special gamemode. Harder than any gamemode in the game currently. The map would be a sea with a ENORMOUS skeleton of a mystical humanoid creature. You can make the path loop around the skeleton or even make the path pass inside the skeleton. Hope you can make this a thing in your game.

the pause button is really convenient because you could just pause and take a huge dump before continuing rather than holding all that nuclear bomb just for another couple minutes

I think events would really hold them back from ACTUAL updates to the game. As TDS said, they are mostly focused on Events rather than being able to provide new updates for the game

I LOVE IT! This was worth the wait, I just recommend trying to make it like big hordes again, because if intermediate mode it too easy with op towers, then you should make it way harder, so it feels like nightmare is like, the ultimate challenge
Ideas For TDX :) There's gonna be a lot so only click read more if you wanna see. 1. Missile Troopers (or any other explosive towers) break zombies with armor for example the super heavy zombie or revived titan and allows other troops like ranger and shotgunner to deal their max potential damage. 2. Add in a zombie called a shrieker or howler that has an ability to make the zombies move quicker once it dies. (Would be in intermediate and advanced mode only.) 3. Have the bosses give an intimidation effect to all soldiers placed down which gives them a debuff of -10% firerate due to fear or hopelessness. 4. Have an attack option for troopers where they attack any zombie you click on until they are dead. (Can be changed if used again on a different zombie.) 5. Add in a mechanic or engineer that would buff one specific unit by upgrading their weapons. (Upgrades can be varied between raising damage and lowering firerate and will only be upgraded once by one engineer.) 6. Add in another ability like the battleship or AC130 except a cargo plane drops cash for all the players. (Money will vary on different waves for example, wave 1 will give 500 cash to everyone and wave 20 would give between 3000-5000 cash.) 7. Add in a hardcore or insane gamemode which requires a certain level to be playable which makes 3 different paths coming out and it's all of the 3 main bosses, Witch Doctor, Eradicator, and the advanced boss. (6-8 players will be needed for this gamemode most likely.) 8. If towers can die, a shielder that gives them antidotes and a cyber-like shield that raises their health a certain amount depending on their base amount of health. 9. Add in another ability similar to the one that was listed at (6) except it's an artillery bombardment similar to the battleship except with a bunch of mortar crews. (Could have a cutscene on the screen showing all of the mortars firing on the map shooting randomly on the paths killing any zombie in the way.) 10. Add in a tower that carries a 50 Cal. like weapon like a heavy sniper that pierces through zombies in a straight line and does a lot of damage but it takes a while to reload and would also be able to pierce through zombies with armor like the super heavy zombie or revived titan. (Reload speed would be 10-6 seconds.) 11. Add in a defender like tower that would use a pistol and would place down stuff like barbed wire, land mines, and barricades that slow, stop, and kill zombies near it. 12. Each maps could apply debuffs on towers depending on it's difficulty. (Easy, Intermediate, and Hard.) For example Heavy rainfall = -10% Range Hot environment (Desert or Volcano) = -5% Firerate Blizzard = Towers that spawn units on the path will have a chance to be unable to move through the snow or not come out at all Nighttime without lights around = -10% Range (Could display the debuffs next to the map name and difficulty in the lobby) 13. Add in a rambo unit that would be similar to the juggernaut but switches out with an axe or combat knife once enemies get close enough. (Another circle will be inside the range circle showing when it will be in the melee range.) 14. Add in a turret unit that would be a minigun turret or a rocket turret depending on which upgrade paths are chosen. (Minigun turret would be DPS, rocket turret would be AoE.) 15. Similar to an AC130 but add in an ability for a apache helicopter that's basically the same as the AC130 except it uses rockets. 16. (Only if advanced boss has not been decided yet) The advanced boss could be a large abomination of zombies combined together with arms, heads, and legs sticking out of the body where as each arm and head have different mini abilities. For example Radioactive zombie head = Spits out acid against soldiers dealing damage over time and lowering firerate by -10% Shrieker/Howler zombie head = Shrieks as loud as possible giving the fear debuff of -5% firerate and making all zombies on the field move 10% quicker. Charger Boss legs = Increases the boss speed by 15%. Predator Mini Boss arms = Grabs zombies and crushes them against the floor killing or stunning them. 17. Add in a mini boss named 'Cosmic Overlord' or 'Warper' that spawns in a portal beneath the units and teleports them somewhere else ranging from across the entire map to right next to the mini boss and can have a chance of teleporter himself a few studs forward but will be slow enough to be balanced. 18. Add in a city map where units can be placed in between the windows of the buildings and relating to (12) there could be rubble falling from the buildings as they are destroyed or run down falling on soldiers which would kill them or fall on the path which would stop the zombies temporarily. 19. Add in a 'Night Hunter' that spawns units on the path that look like Spec Op troops wearing Night Vision and full black equipment with a handgun and a knife. For example Path 1 = Deadliest Night Hunter with a VKS silenced sniper that deals a whopping amount of 200 damage and firerate will be shot every 5 seconds meanwhile reload will also be 5 seconds and the range will be large and satisficing for a sniper.) Path 2 = Eruditious Hunter that will set different traps containing bungee spike traps, landmines, mud, and snares for zombies while having a Karambit or a different combat knife. (Bungee traps would Instantly kill 5 zombies with health below 1000, landmines would deal AoE damage to all zombies near ranging from 100-500 damage, Mud would be splattered all of the ground making the zombies move -25% slower, and snares would stun a zombie for 10-15 seconds depending on weight and speed of the zombie. (Amount of traps will vary with the number of Eruditious Hunters on the field.) ) 20. Allow the Ranger to choose different grenades ranging from Incendiary, Explosive, Flashbang, Stun, and Gas grenade. For example Incendiary grenade = Deal 25 DPS to any zombies inside of it and zombies on fire will take 10 fire damage until fire effects wear off. (Will cost $750 to use and have a 10 second cooldown on ALL grenades.) Explosive grenade = Deal 100 Damage and have a semi/medium radius of AoE. (Will cost $500 cash to use and have a 10 second cooldown on ALL grenades.) Flashbang grenade = Deal 10 Damage and blind zombies (Blinded zombies will have a chance to walk opposite of the path.) (Will cost $500 to use and have a 10 second cooldown on ALL grenades.) Stun grenade = Deal 25 Damage and stun all zombies in it's radius for 5 seconds. Gas grenade = (Similar to Incendiary grenade) Deal 50 DPS to any zombies inside of it and will wear off once zombies are out of the Gas grenade's radius. 21. Add in a Jungle like map with ropes connecting to platforms where units will be able to use the environment and higher ground to give debuffs to enemies that can attack units (For example, enemies that attack towers have a -25% chance to attack units hidden in bushes, trees, and higher platforms.)
finally we're now closer to playing John (and his team)'s game, TDX, which has the most potential of being the most balanced of all TD games (...of course it will have bugs, every game has that)
It'd be cool if you could make it so like you have all bosses from easier modes on harder modes, so like in hard mode, you get the eradicator as a mini boss
having time control in game is probably going to be one of the biggest pluses for me because I am slow at micro management in most roblox games and I think it would also help people be more engaged when they grind

I have a suggestion or an odea whatever u call it. What about u add perks Perks gives buffs and something else like +15% damage, +5 Placements, +20% Tower Health or -10% Tower Stun Time, +15% Tower Explosion Radius or more idk any ideas but i bet the devs have. U can unlock perk points lvling up perk points is used to unlock perks or upgrade them.Every time u lvl up u get more perk slots... To make the game more unique and balance.... Just a random idea for me.

if ur ever gonna do a mode with a huge boss (something like pizza party in tds) then a spawn animation would look amazing like maybe a crawl out of the entrance bc its too big
The final boss in the fallen-like mode should have a tactical nuke that has a massive explosion range that deals at least 500 damage to the tower it hits and then stuns with radiation-like particles
love the eradicator's death animation, it hints that he'll come back in the next mode as a miniboss or buffed up boss (or he literally just retreated cuz he SUCKS)
if people are getting mad about the tower hp thing it can actually play off as fun. If you are max towers and ur near the end your towers can die which keeps you playing which is very engaging
I have an idea for the health system of towers. The more health a tower has, the more time stunned. (Ex: stunned towers recover 5hp/sec) This will make tower with low health be more usefull since they will recover fast, and beffier tower a double sharp sword, as they can resist more stuff but will be unusable for a long time.

I Feel like the DJ death animation should either be john coming up and absolutely DECIMATING the DJ with a bi___ slap, or the boombox just explodes and the DJ goes flying.
Honestly this game has so much potential and it outperforms TDS in many ways, mostly Becuase TDS zombies have no faces and the towers reuse the same face as for TDX has each zombie have a custom face and different unique mechanics. This game has high potential!
i propose an mode where zombies or enemies are actually smart and use advanced tactics such as hiding behind cover to minimize dmg taken, make a sprint to the exit or form walls to protect stronger enemies to ensure they get to the exit. Probably really hard to implement but would be cool otherwise

I have a pretty cool tower suggestion, the Federal FBI, he is inspired in Enforcer from old TDS, (Spawner Tower) Tower Design: FBI Black Outfit (Men) Level 0: Spawns an old 1990s police car, having 100 health and walking slow. (500 to place) Level 1: Spawns an Crowd Victoria (i think thats the name) that now drifts in corners and can walk a little fast. (150 health and 500 Upgrade Cost. Level 2: Spawns an Dodge Dart that walks fast and now has a 15 range and when it has a zombie on its range, it blocks the path and 2 cops get out. Cops do 5 Damage with a 0.6 Firerate. Level 3: Spawns an SUV with 18 range, drifts, blocks path and 2 cops that do 6 Damage at a 0.4 Firerate. (200 health + 1000 Upgrade Cost) Level 4: Spawns the same SUV, same stats but cops do 8 Damage and 0.4 Firerate. (300 Health) 3000 Upgrade Cost Level 5: Spawns a SWAT, has 20 RANGE and drifts, blocks path and 4 cops that do 7 Damage at a 0.2 Firerate with an AK-47, 9990 Upgrade Cost Ability at Level 5: Spawns an CONVOY, 2 SUV, 1 SWAT. They will make a roadblock (1000 Health) and 5 FBI will get out with an AK-47 with 10 damage and 0.3 Firerate. (400 health of cops) if they lose all of their health and also the cops, it will explode. (40 cooldown) Voice: Roadblock accepted, convoy in proceed. In the other side, stats are the same but from level 2-4, 2 cars will make a roadblock with the specific cops. From the other side at level 5, stats are the same but not the ability. A Dispatch will say "Backup will proceed in area" 3 SUVS, 1 SWAT will make a roadblock with 20 range, 2 Dodge Dart and 3 SUVS will continue the path and if all of them die, 3 Dodge Dart and 3 Suvs will also proceed with 3 lvl 5 FBIs. 1 Minute cooldown, 4000 Ability cost. I know it may seen op, and too op, but yea, thats my idea. Just nerf if too op. Cost: 8000-10K coins.

I hate having exclusive towers in a game I think the best fix is to add a one of a kind skin to the people who beat that event

1. Missile Troopers (or any other explosive towers) break zombies with armor for example the super heavy zombie or revived titan and allows other troops like ranger and shotgunner to deal their max potential damage.
2. Add in a zombie called a shrieker or howler that has an ability to make the zombies move quicker once it dies. (Would be in intermediate and advanced mode only.)
3. Have the bosses give an intimidation effect to all soldiers placed down which gives them a debuff of -10% firerate due to fear or hopelessness.
4. Have an attack option for troopers where they attack any zombie you click on until they are dead. (Can be changed if used again on a different zombie.)
5. Add in a mechanic or engineer that would buff one specific unit by upgrading their weapons. (Upgrades can be varied between raising damage and lowering firerate and will only be upgraded once by one engineer.)
6. Add in another ability like the battleship or AC130 except a cargo plane drops cash for all the players. (Money will vary on different waves for example, wave 1 will give 500 cash to everyone and wave 20 would give between 3000-5000 cash.)
7. Add in a hardcore or insane gamemode which requires a certain level to be playable which makes 3 different paths coming out and it's all of the 3 main bosses, Witch Doctor, Eradicator, and the advanced boss. (6-8 players will be needed for this gamemode most likely.)
8. If towers can die, a shielder that gives them antidotes and a cyber-like shield that raises their health a certain amount depending on their base amount of health.
9. Add in another ability similar to the one that was listed at (6) except it's an artillery bombardment similar to the battleship except with a bunch of mortar crews. (Could have a cutscene on the screen showing all of the mortars firing on the map shooting randomly on the paths killing any zombie in the way.)
10. Add in a tower that carries a 50 Cal. like weapon like a heavy sniper that pierces through zombies in a straight line and does a lot of damage but it takes a while to reload and would also be able to pierce through zombies with armor like the super heavy zombie or revived titan. (Reload speed would be 10-6 seconds.)
11. Add in a defender like tower that would use a pistol and would place down stuff like barbed wire, land mines, and barricades that slow, stop, and kill zombies near it.
12. Each maps could apply debuffs on towers depending on it's difficulty. (Easy, Intermediate, and Hard.)
For example
Heavy rainfall = -10% Range
Hot environment (Desert or Volcano) = -5% Firerate
Blizzard = Towers that spawn units on the path will have a chance to be unable to move through the snow or not come out at all
Nighttime without lights around = -10% Range
(Could display the debuffs next to the map name and difficulty in the lobby)
13. Add in a rambo unit that would be similar to the juggernaut but switches out with an axe or combat knife once enemies get close enough. (Another circle will be inside the range circle showing when it will be in the melee range.)
14. Add in a turret unit that would be a minigun turret or a rocket turret depending on which upgrade paths are chosen. (Minigun turret would be DPS, rocket turret would be AoE.)
15. Similar to an AC130 but add in an ability for a apache helicopter that's basically the same as the AC130 except it uses rockets.
16. (Only if advanced boss has not been decided yet) The advanced boss could be a large abomination of zombies combined together with arms, heads, and legs sticking out of the body where as each arm and head have different mini abilities.
For example
Radioactive zombie head = Spits out acid against soldiers dealing damage over time and lowering firerate by -10%
Shrieker/Howler zombie head = Shrieks as loud as possible giving the fear debuff of -5% firerate and making all zombies on the field move 10% quicker.
Charger Boss legs = Increases the boss speed by 15%.
Predator Mini Boss arms = Grabs zombies and crushes them against the floor killing or stunning them.
17. Add in a mini boss named 'Cosmic Overlord' or 'Warper' that spawns in a portal beneath the units and teleports them somewhere else ranging from across the entire map to right next to the mini boss and can have a chance of teleporter himself a few studs forward but will be slow enough to be balanced.
18. Add in a city map where units can be placed in between the windows of the buildings and relating to (12) there could be rubble falling from the buildings as they are destroyed or run down falling on soldiers which would kill them or fall on the path which would stop the zombies temporarily.
19. Add in a 'Night Hunter' that spawns units on the path that look like Spec Op troops wearing Night Vision and full black equipment with a handgun and a knife.
For example
Path 1 = Deadliest Night Hunter with a VKS silenced sniper that deals a whopping amount of 200 damage and firerate will be shot every 5 seconds meanwhile reload will also be 5 seconds and the range will be large and satisficing for a sniper.)
Path 2 = Eruditious Hunter that will set different traps containing bungee spike traps, landmines, mud, and snares for zombies while having a Karambit or a different combat knife. (Bungee traps would Instantly kill 5 zombies with health below 1000, landmines would deal AoE damage to all zombies near ranging from 100-500 damage, Mud would be splattered all of the ground making the zombies move -25% slower, and snares would stun a zombie for 10-15 seconds depending on weight and speed of the zombie. (Amount of traps will vary with the number of Eruditious Hunters on the field.) )
20. Allow the Ranger to choose different grenades ranging from Incendiary, Explosive, Flashbang, Stun, and Gas grenade.
For example
Incendiary grenade = Deal 25 DPS to any zombies inside of it and zombies on fire will take 10 fire damage until fire effects wear off. (Will cost $750 to use and have a 10 second cooldown on ALL grenades.)
Explosive grenade = Deal 100 Damage and have a semi/medium radius of AoE. (Will cost $500 cash to use and have a 10 second cooldown on ALL grenades.)
Flashbang grenade = Deal 10 Damage and blind zombies (Blinded zombies will have a chance to walk opposite of the path.) (Will cost $500 to use and have a 10 second cooldown on ALL grenades.)
Stun grenade = Deal 25 Damage and stun all zombies in it's radius for 5 seconds.
Gas grenade = (Similar to Incendiary grenade) Deal 50 DPS to any zombies inside of it and will wear off once zombies are out of the Gas grenade's radius.
21. Add in a Jungle like map with ropes connecting to platforms where units will be able to use the environment and higher ground to give debuffs to enemies that can attack units (For example, enemies that attack towers have a -25% chance to attack units hidden in bushes, trees, and higher platforms.)

finally we're now closer to playing John (and his team)'s game, TDX, which has the most potential of being the most balanced of all TD games
(...of course it will have bugs, every game has that)
It'd be cool if you could make it so like you have all bosses from easier modes on harder modes, so like in hard mode, you get the eradicator as a mini boss

having time control in game is probably going to be one of the biggest pluses for me because I am slow at micro management in most roblox games and I think it would also help people be more engaged when they grind

U can unlock perk points lvling up perk points is used to unlock perks or upgrade them.Every time u lvl up u get more perk slots...

if people are getting mad about the tower hp thing it can actually play off as fun. If you are max towers and ur near the end your towers can die which keeps you playing which is very engaging

I have an idea for the health system of towers.
The more health a tower has, the more time stunned. (Ex: stunned towers recover 5hp/sec)
This will make tower with low health be more usefull since they will recover fast, and beffier tower a double sharp sword, as they can resist more stuff but will be unusable for a long time.

Plus, this will make the medic idea more focused on ACTUALLY healing the towers and REVIVING the one in need!

Honestly this game has so much potential and it outperforms TDS in many ways, mostly Becuase TDS zombies have no faces and the towers reuse the same face as for TDX has each zombie have a custom face and different unique mechanics. This game has high potential!
you need to make the death animation for the DJ booth to just explode in an over-the-top manner
i propose an mode where zombies or enemies are actually smart and use advanced tactics such as hiding behind cover to minimize dmg taken, make a sprint to the exit or form walls to protect stronger enemies to ensure they get to the exit. Probably really hard to implement but would be cool otherwise

Hey John! I have a pretty cool tower suggestion, the Federal FBI, he is inspired in Enforcer from old TDS, (Spawner Tower)
Tower Design: FBI Black Outfit (Men)
Level 0: Spawns an old 1990s police car, having 100 health and walking slow. (500 to place)
Level 1: Spawns an Crowd Victoria (i think thats the name) that now drifts in corners and can walk a little fast. (150 health and 500 Upgrade Cost. Level 2: Spawns an Dodge Dart that walks fast and now has a 15 range and when it has a zombie on its range, it blocks the path and 2 cops get out. Cops do 5 Damage with a 0.6 Firerate.
Level 3: Spawns an SUV with 18 range, drifts, blocks path and 2 cops that do 6 Damage at a 0.4 Firerate. (200 health + 1000 Upgrade Cost)
Level 4: Spawns the same SUV, same stats but cops do 8 Damage and 0.4 Firerate. (300 Health) 3000 Upgrade Cost
Level 5: Spawns a SWAT, has 20 RANGE and drifts, blocks path and 4 cops that do 7 Damage at a 0.2 Firerate with an AK-47, 9990 Upgrade Cost
Ability at Level 5: Spawns an CONVOY, 2 SUV, 1 SWAT. They will make a roadblock (1000 Health) and 5 FBI will get out with an AK-47 with 10 damage and 0.3 Firerate. (400 health of cops) if they lose all of their health and also the cops, it will explode. (40 cooldown) Voice: Roadblock accepted, convoy in proceed. In the other side, stats are the same but from level 2-4, 2 cars will make a roadblock with the specific cops. From the other side at level 5, stats are the same but not the ability. A Dispatch will say "Backup will proceed in area" 3 SUVS, 1 SWAT will make a roadblock with 20 range, 2 Dodge Dart and 3 SUVS will continue the path and if all of them die, 3 Dodge Dart and 3 Suvs will also proceed with 3 lvl 5 FBIs. 1 Minute cooldown, 4000 Ability cost. I know it may seen op, and too op, but yea, thats my idea. Just nerf if too op.
Cost: 8000-10K coins.
