This Scent On Lures Works, Catching Fish With Little John Twitchbaits and Pro Cure Bait Scent

  • Little John MirrOlure soft plastics coated with Pro Cure Inshore scent is an excellent way to catch fish. I caught 50 to 60 Grouper, Flounder, Seabass, Sea robins, Filefish, Mangrove Snapper, Sand Perch, Lizardfish and even Pinfish on this adventure with this combination.
    I was primarily fishing for Flounder under and around docks. Apparently they either haven't moved in to the area or the Red Tide put a huge dent in the population of this species. I did manage to catch one flatty, but it wasn't big enough to keep.
    I was using two different MirrOlure Little John soft plastic twitch bait colors on 1/16 to 1/8 once jig heads. My Diawa BG series reel was spooled with 15 lb test Berkley Trilene monofilament line. I was not using a leader.
    The lure retrieval was pretty basic, cast, let it hit bottom, twitch, twitch and let it hit the bottom again, repeat...

    *Wow...Thanx for the Positive Attitude Re-Start... needed that one JC... You may consider, if so inclined... On your jig head, first hook a piece of natural sponge that's been cut into 1/2" cubes... then slide the soft bait up to the sponge pushing it secure. With a hardware store bought syringe and dull needle... infuse just a little drop or two of pro cure scent into the sponge... repeat every 5 casts or so... Hey, save a buck or two so that pro cure scent goes a really long way baby* I Really do, as more and more folks do as well, appreciate and look forward to your vids JC... gw

    had the same thing happen to me years ago.drifted over one in my kayak ,didnt know what is was ,then felt the scraping of the back on the bottom hull,he was sleeping(not for long)big explosion of water lifted the front of the kayak two feet out of the water,took me about 10 minutes to figure out what happened and to catch my breath,never forget that one! fished that area last week under siesta drive bridge, I think its called nora park. I was on land, its where the charter boat picks up people. I was on the south side and schools of 10 and 15 pound jacks kept coming through. I had a hell of a workout. also caught 3 flounders all keepers. you should check it out on falling tide. Great video as always.

    Hope and faith is what gets us through, brother. Fun day for sure catching all those grouper. I haven’t used scented baits much in salt but in fresh water where I fish the most, especially for bass, I make my own garlic/coffee scents. I use an olive oil base and I use it on my soft jerk baits and even on my hard baits as well. It seems to take that human scent or say an unnatural scent off of the bait and the fish seem to hold onto the bait longer. Stands to reason that it would work in a saltwater fishery like you fish. Good stuff!

I had no idea what it was. I start moving as fast as I can trying to get out of there. My dad is there and laughing his ass off at me. I thought it was a shark. Nope, just a manatee.

    Started off watching your videos snooking bridges at night and fell into a slump when you got into the kayak craze, don’t know why I too have a fishing yak and a solo skiff but you got it going on now. Guess I didn’t want the change of your fishing style because I enjoyed seeing you horse those giant snook in from the bridge lights. Your thoughts of enjoyment of life with your fishing made me think, and I got to say this was one of your best clips! Have to agree on the pro cure salt shrimp. I just found that using a tad on my Ned rigging has turned my bass fishing around for the good, it seems to get those cold water bass to hit. Last two days were great. Going out to try again today just to see if it was a fluke. Keep on keeping on 👍

    Question on the Pro Cure, Would you consider doing a vid using procure on hard plastics? I'm curious to see how your hook up rate changes (if any) for Snook, Reds, Jacks, Smacks ... What is your best guess as to how the Pro Cure would change things for those fish (if at all)? My guess is that your Redfish hook up would go up. Also, any other fish that is smell sensitive. I don't think it would affect the Snook and Spanish hook up though. Love your vids! This one was fantastic - including how you set up to get your yak into the water. Great quality!

  • @eddievlife
    @eddievlife 5 років тому

    Nice video JC! What do you attribute so many small fish and no keepers? Over fishing, red tide kill last year or you aren't in the right spot? Just curious on what you think. It would be nice to be rewarded with at least one keeper!

    • @RadReelingFishing
      @RadReelingFishing  5 років тому

      That area like many others in saltwater depend upon a certain migration of fish. I may have missed it, or it hasn't happened yet, our the red tide has really depleted the population of the fish I was hoping to catch. I'll try it again in a couple of weeks.
