I compost mine, then the compost goes into my garden or around my fruit trees. My compost is international. I can't make 'soil' fast enough. Everyone should be composting. This is a great idea, I hope they can up the percentage of coffee grinds to cup. Curious if their other materials are new resourced or are also recycled materials. If they are extracting new materials for the rest of the cup, then I think composting is a better purpose for the grinds.
I do the same. Filters can also be composted.💜✌

Coffee grounds can also be used in the garden. Either into a compost bin or directly sprinkled onto a garden bed.

Yes, I already compost my grounds, but this is intriguing. Since the manufacturing process must use existing energy resources, I would like to know what they are and if they can be further improved upon. I would like to see a carbon footprint comparison/contrast between this product, those like it (i.e. “green” products), and traditionally used paper or styrofoam cups. I have often wondered, too, how much environmental impact it has when I wash my reusable dish ware. This motivates me: I will try the “Google machine” to find out. 🤓

Hmmm, I'm envisioning something like this for starting seedlings and instead of transplanting them to the soil, you just use the container so it works as a time release fertilizer!

Anyone who’s ever worked at a rubbish dump will tell you that coffee grounds in landfill is totally benign.
I like the concept but the small diameter at the bottom looks very tippy.
"It takes three months to decompose". This is nothing. Why introduce an energy consuming specialized supply chain for a non-problem?
Agreed. I'm confused why the focus is on preventing biodegradable coffee grounds from going to the landfill, when clearly this idea could make a huge impact on replacing single-use cups, utensils, and straws with much more easily biodegradable options.
@@paperip1996 I'm not confused. It's all about the money. Coffee is great for the soil, replacing nitrogen as it decomposes.
@@davidpetersonharvey I mean, yes, at the end of the day, all businesses exist to turn a profit. But when you consider that coffee grounds decompose quickly and are great fertilizer, the sales pitch of "eliminating coffee ground waste" makes a less sense than "creating fully biodegradable single-use items". The latter addresses a much larger problem many nations are actively investing in solutions for.
Ah, yes I see. But on a positive note, I think it's nice to have a good competitor for another biodegradable single-use item that already exists on the market since this kinda product option is not really accessible/expensive.
@@paperip1996its only 30% grounds. So 70% of it has to be produced some other way. Odds are producing the paper for a regular paper up is less resorce heavy then this :0 (speculation)
