Hey Marcus, Once you get a green Rockwell bar for a group of stocks, how do you then choose between them? I get the points about gapping and trend ability but how does the P&L part work? Is this referring to the net profit of the stock over time or the price performance or something else?

Markus - I'm relatively new to this. Some people like to use Vortex Indicator in their set up. Is there any advantage to using the Vortex over the MACD in your set-up? I realize I probably don't sound like I know what I'm doing but I'm totally intrigued at the fact that there are so many ways of setting yourself up on tradeview.

Yes, that's true. Here are two possible solutions for you:
1.) Remove one of the other indicators and replace it with the PowerX Bars
2.) Upgrade to the paid version. It's only $14.95 per month.

Hi Janis, probably. I haven't done that because I'm using the PowerX Optimizer which gives me the signals every day. But I think that would be possible.

Hey Markus! Quick question. What timeframe are you using for your charts? Trading view has a new option when in the settings for these indicators that says "indicator timeframe." right now they're all set to "same as chart" for me, but that means the powerx bars change color depending on the timeframe I have set in the chart. What timeframe would you suggest for trading the powerx strategy??
I'm keeping it simple and just use DAILY charts. Does this help?

Hey Marcus, great video confirming the strategy in your book. One question though; In the book you use a stop of 1.5 ATRs but do you think it would be a good idea to use a trailing stop from the beginning? Obviously, the advantage would be that once the trade moves 1.5 ATRs in the direction of the trade, you would then automatically be in a break even position and could not lose on the trade. But this could squeeze the trade and maybe not allow enough space for the trade to hit the profit target. What do you think?
Hi David, great question. I have been testing "trailing stops" vs. "Profit targets" many, many times, and every single time, the "profit target strategy" wins. That's why I prefer using THAT over trailing stops. Making sense? 👍
@@rockwelltradingservices Yes, thanks for your reply. I can see why you would come to that conclusion. The problem with the trailing stop, assuming a buy trade, is that price can spike up, not enough to hit the profit target but instead pulling the stop up, and then a price movement down stops you out with a loss. I’ve looked at a lot of strategies and indicators, and there are very few that can get you out of a trade quickly before price goes the other way. Hence one or more profit targets seems the best way forward.
An alternative is to take 50% off the table after 1.5 ATRs and then move the stop to break even and trail the other half of the trade. Sounds good on paper but I’ve found it doesn’t work that well because it reduces your position size too early and moves the stop up too early. Better to let the trade play out I think.

@@luismanuelmendoza789 Luis, do you have black bars in your TradingView account using the PowerX Strategy Bar Color library? I only have green and red bars, NO black bars unfortunately. This doesnt allow for the "real" PowerX strategy to be applied since we should cancel the order if a black bar appears.

@@luismanuelmendoza789 I didn't change the setting in TradingView from Candlestick to Bars. For the black bars to show up, the setting needs to be in "Bars".
i dont understand the RSI. i thought when it starts getting high, its a sign of being overbought so wouldnt you want to think about shorting it? why do you like to buy when it starts to creep above 50?

Well I loaded the powerx colors and it comes up in many shades rather than green red and black. I should also mention that in my chart I eliminated the blue line totally because I wanted to see the bars and didn't like the line. But that shouldn't effect the bar colors.

Hi Vinh, it means that you are using the free version and you are limited to 3 indicators. So you either have to remove one of the other indicators or upgrade to the paid version fro $14.95 per month. Does this help?

Hi Ed, I personally don't use the PowerX Strategy for day trading, but I heard from other traders that they are using the same settings and choose 5 min or 15 min charts.

1.) My software "PowerX Optimizer" scans stocks for current entry signals according to the PowerX Strategy. You can use this as a second strategy in addition to "Big Shot" or you can combine these strategies. Up to you.
2.) PowerX Optimizer runs its own risk management and position sizing. But of course, you could type in the values from PowerX Optimizer into your software.
3.) Yes, you can place the orders for stocks and options with Interactive Brokers. In fact, I have 3 accounts with IB
4.) Yes, I am also using TradingView for real-time data
5.) PowerX Optimizer gives you the SIGNALS, and then you simply pick the ones that you like and enter them as orders with your broker.
6.) You can schedule a FREE walkthrough the software with Paul. It will be online through ZOOM and takes approx 30 min. You can ask him all the questions you want.

@@rockwelltradingservices Hi Markus, thanks for your answer. I’ve just started testing the Power X strategy by using trading view for stocks and a broker demo account for FX. It’s very early days (literally only 2 days) but so far it’s working very well for stocks and not for FX.
I’m in the U.K. so I use spread betting for tax reasons. But to avoid dodgy market making brokers I use ECN brokers for FX who all seem to use MT4 which doesn’t have any stocks. MT5 has a few stocks but not enough. So when I come to trading stocks I suspect I will be at the mercy of market making brokers again because although there is an exchange to buy stocks, there isn’t to spread bet them. But overall I suspect it’s easier to make money in stocks simply because the FX market is too big with so many participants that it’s too choppy to trade. And of course, stocks have an inherent value whereas FX is worth what the banks say it is, and they manipulate the prices.

Hi Markus. I see you switching between 5min view & "D" (DAY) view in your videos w/ TradingView. (The button to the right of Stock symbol AAPL)
My question yesterday was confusing, sorry... I was trying to ask about the bottom left buttons in TradingView 1D, 5D, 1M, 3M, 6M, YTD, etc. (just above the "Stock Screener" Tab.) Do you use these? Every time I use them it screws up my layout?
I've seen you use the button ... Just to the Right of the stock symbol. "D" to switch between Day & 5min view. Is that the best to use?

Should I just forget about the 1D, 5D, 1M, 3M, 6M, YTD, etc. in the bottom left above "Stock Screener" in Trading View?
Hi Sean, I trade mainly from DAILY charts. Every now and then I switch to a 5 min chart to get an idea on what happened throughout the day. But I don't base any trading decisions on a 5 min chart, or any other timeframe. Does this help? 😀

Does the TradingView stock chart show the real time stock price ?
Yes, it can if you subscribe to real time data. It's $2/month for NASDAQ and another $2/month for NYSE, so it's $4.

Hey Marcus, you didn’t answer my question about whether you are using the %K or %D stochastic line. But I’ve just loaded the Rockwell indicator on the chart which colours the bars. These line up exactly with using %D as in this video. So it seems that the book, ‘The Power X Strategy’ 2nd edition is out of date. Is there a third edition? But for those who don’t know, using %D rather than %K delays the buy or sell signal but makes it more reliable.
I'm going back and forth. As you pointed out: They both have pros and cons. Right now, I'm using %K, as described in the book. 👍
@@rockwelltradingservices I started off with the K as in the book but I like the Rockwell bars which I’ve put on my chart and as those use the D I’ll stick with that. Ive used another strategy with the stochastic and that uses D as well. I’ve found that once the D crosses 50 it usually keeps going whereas the K is more jagged and can whipsaw back over the line. There is always the temptation to get in early with the K though.
When PowerX Indicator is physically selected I see the black bars...but when clicked off that indicator the black bars are replaced with the underlying green/red color.
I can I make the PowerX Indicator stick when not selected?
Got my issue sorted. Click the ellipsis on the PowerX Indicator > Visual Order > Bring to Front

Does the "rockwell power x bars" indicator work without the other 3 indicators applied to the view? The reason i ask is because the free version of trading view only allows a maximum of 3 indicators at a time, so I would have to pay a monthly fee to add 1 additional bar. Thank you
Yes, it does. However, you should really consider investing $15 per month into a great tool. Just my 2 cents. :-)

Hi Markus, I did add the correct PowerX Bar Coloring but I had to change from candlesticks to line. Still, when I lowered the thickness, it is still not clear. Could it be the font size??

rockwell script not available on trading view
Hi Marcus, I was going to back to a few of your earlier videos in particular "Stock Market Profit Taking Strategy". I am trying to understand how you go about setting your stop loss and profit target with the ATR/ADR. In playing around with the concept, I had taken the ATR on a stock and subtracted it from a possible buy-point, giving me the price of my 1-R (Risk) stop loss. I know that you advocate for every $1 Risked, we should make $2. In order to make the $2, it appears that I need to make 2 times my risk (2R). In the video I mentioned above, you indicated that when you make your $2, you will then sell 1/2 the position and also reduce your risk in 1/2. With the remaining shares, the next best case would be to make it to 3R as an overall Profit Target (or something above the 2R). I have been reading that some traders just take the ATR/ADR * 3 and say that is the Profit Target - is that a correct method? I may have brought confusion into what I am asking about. Is there a possibility that you would be able to do a video showing us how you take a stock from TradingView and a process we should follow to establish the stop loss, a goal for achieving 2x our risk, and how we would determine what the absolute potential Profit Target would be? Thank you Sir for any clarification you can offer on this.
Is there any way to bring in ADR 7 into Tradingview?
Hi Brett, not without programming some PineScript. You can use the ATR (7). It's not the same but close enough.

I am in US, not in UK. When I registered, it did not ask me to select Country.

Hmmmm.... good question. Not quite sure. It should be the same for all countries. I don't know if the UK has some regulations that prevent TradingView from showing the NYSE screen?

I only use it on DAILY charts and only on US stocks. Don't know if it works for Indian markets. Try it out :-)

Hi Bobby, we had to rename it, because they don't allow company names. The indicator is now called "PowerX". Search for that term, and you will find it.

Yes that last 2 weeks I have been looking at stocks to back test and see if the indicators match the what's going on with the bars and price change and it seems to be pretty spot on. Sometimes it goes flat but a good 7/8 out of 10 seem like it works. I see nothing but green bars once all indicators are a go. The MACD is a tiny bit behind the other two, but I would just wait on it. There's no need to rush in there, plenty of stocks and days to trade.
BTW I had the same questions, because I got his book on Amazon and he doesn't state what time frame he uses.so I tested all of them out and the 1hr seems to be legit, tested out see if you agree.

Hi Hanna, yes it can be used anywhere in the world but it can only read American Stocks. You have to have a US account to trade.
