I literally got banned because I called for more penguin representation in games. The designer of the loved the post. The publisher loved the post. The post got to the front page of BGG because it was liked so much. Then they banned me. BGG is trash.
I also got banned by BGG. Same thing, making a post of a tempered opinion. If you don’t subscribe to being a far left zealot and they find out you get manned by Octavian. Same nonsense going on from Rodney Smith of Watch It Played, Rhado, and even the Dice Tower. I’m all in with Ant Lab games and Game Nexus they started. Great video, keep it up.
Yeah, I subscribed to Ant Lab and unsubscribed from the wokesters myself. I just can't believe that wokeness has infiltrated such a family friendly (traditionally) hobby to such a deep and toxic extent.
Same thing happened to me today. Somebody posted on the upcoming Kingdom Come Deliverance board game subforum about the whole manufactured controversy surrounding the video game. Like your situation, they were asking for discussion, and I was very civil. It seemed nobody posting actually knew the facts surrounding the KCD video game shenanigans, so I laid out those facts. Post was removed. I asked them to send me my own post so that I could review it. They refused. I asked them to tell me what rule I broke. They sent me a link to the rules. I asked which specific rule I broke, and they permanently suspended my account. You are only allowed to have far left opinions on BGG, with zero room for discussion otherwise.
When a game is criticized in this manner and a public forum backs up the stance while wiping away any form of civil discourse, you can’t help but feel bad for the developers of Alma Mater. The game is thematically correct. There is zero issue. Yet some people wanna watch the world burn and goad others into engaging only to also be banned.
That’s completely insane. I don’t care how rude you were in your posts, the original accuses people of racism so how could you have possibly been worse such that you’re banned but the OP isn’t? And over a board game of all things!
Well that sucks. I had no idea how selective, and touchy these moderators are. Wonder if this change at all. I was post suspended indefinitely for my post in general chant being displeased with the overdue nature of a boardgame, reasons I backed it (with inclusion of not using Marvel characters that have been reguritated so many times, including gender swap, race change, etc) and was still looking forward to getting it. It attracted one question, which I answered and provided direction to learn more and mentioned I wasn't going to cover any more on it, as well as a few trolls. I was flagged for trolling. No warnings. Contacted them asking why no warnings, and why an indefinite post ban. Told them I would have deleted my post if asked, or complied to having my post deleted. I just got this response: "Your comments in the deleted thread conflict directly with the values of our community. Your account posting privileges have been permanently suspended as a result. The decision is final." I've seen posts with regards to such before. I have made posts of comments as such too before. No problems. I guess its because it hit the 'woke' topic that it was suddenly deemed inexcusable, and condemnable. Well, whatever. They can abuse their powers at their whim however they choose. I'm no longer going to be supporting the site.
Yeah, I try to avoid BGG like the plague. On the off chance I do go there out of desperation to get a question answered, I don't feel too guilty because I have the ads blocked on my browser, lol.
im convinced people that call anyone Racist or sexist , have a horrible history of racism and sexism and are trying to make up for by incorrectly labeling people as racist or sexist etc
