Hi MB…thanks so much my friend! Glad you enjoyed it…I have too many other “chores” this weekend, but hope to spend a little time with a few of my six stringed friends…🎸👍
Hey Jimmy, the finnish looks pretty dam cool..very rich looking blue for sure..i also think it sounds better than its " older" brother. The tone is pretty ,nice full sound. Its been awhile for me ..life changes for us ,nice to hear you play again ..i have alot of catching up to do on your videos..take care my friend.
Hi Joe!! Nice to see you back here on the channel! So glad to hear you enjoyed! Hope all is well with you and yours my friend! Catching up will be fun….🎸👍
I bought this guitar based on your review. I wasn’t sure how good it would be but MY GOSH! The tuners are great, the finish is great, The frets are the best I’ve seen (I have multiple guitars with the ball end frets). They are slicker than snot on a doorknob and the all reach the ends of fretboard (this is a first for me). Incredible. Earned a subscription from me.

Even though I'm not a fan of SG/Viper guitars this one sounds great. I love the Blueberry Burst finish. I'm going to keep my eyes on their site for a Blueberry Burst finish in a Tele, Strat, Jaguar or Jazzmaster style. It's one of those colors that grabs me and inspires me to buy one. It would probably turn into one my favorite guitars. Some of my guitars that I love I bought without even playing them. I just caught them on UA-cam and had to have one. Thank you and FF for the review. Have a great weekend my friend!
Looks awesome 😎... Sounds Great... Yeah this is more like the ESP Viper version of the Gibson SG style guitar. The Epiphone Guitars SG style are $179 as well... Cheers 🍻 🥃🥃 🎸 🎵🎶🎶🎶🎶
I have to say that this is a very good looking guitar and I’m sure it’s a good player and I have the same guitar from the first drop in grey and I just purchased a new FFTL Bigsby guitar in the color of black and gold. Have to tune it up and then check the intonation and go from there. I think it is a pretty sharp looking guitar and I was expecting it to be different than what it is but I’m impressed with the fit and finish of the new Firefly guitars 🎸. It seems that each drop they get better and better with looks and sound. I now own 8 Firefly guitars and I am happy with them all.
Hi Michael..thanks so much for watching and commenting. Congrats on your new FFTL!! Enjoy it man! Truly appreciate your stopping into the channel and sharing your thoughts! Keep pickin’…🎸👍
The rosewood fretboard is very attractive, and nobody does a better blue berry burst then firefly, out of all the budget guitars I have, firefly is my favorite, totally satisfied with my old Malibu sunset firefly SG,but this color is calling me,it would match my blue firefly 338 perfectly.
Hi 2Daze…thanks so much for watching and commenting. The blueberry burst is amazing, right? Anyway….you know what you need to do…😎 Truly appreciate your stopping by….always a pleasure! 🎸👍
Jimmy, something just occurred to me. The updated FFLGS has a 14 inch fretboard radius, yes, but it also has a TOM-style bridge -- and every one of those I've ever seen has a 12 inch radius. That's a definite mismatch, but how bad is that? I have two guitars that answer that question for me. I found those two guitars on the same day in the same store. I not only bought them, but considered and consider them both to be among my best-playing axes. Indeed, it was literal decades before I learned this trivium. I would say, judge with your fretting hand.
Hi Edwin….thanks so much for watching and commenting. Matching the neck radius to the bridge radius has been an ongoing mystical debate for decades and honestly, fretted guitar necks are inherently mismatched for intonation just in their design. Getting “close” is the ultimate goal. String placement on the fretboard, height to fretboard, spacing between strings, height to pickups, all preferenced nuisances that players deal with daily. As you state, your fretting hand will give you valuable information. 🎸👍
I finished my FF LP blueberry it's got the pro Burger plug and Play electronics I set the height of the pickups and the bridge pause the neck everything Fred's a perfect. So I'm lending it out to my good friends son who's in a band playing a bunch of places next couple weeks so I told him to take it and let me know how he liked it if I did a good job setting it up and putting electronics and everything in it. But anyways when I get it back in a couple weeks or whatever would you want to trade for your strawberry shortcake. I'm in Massachusetts I don't know how far away are the shipping without but or even trade for a year and then send it back to each other I was on the fence and then after I saw your videos like you know what I'm going to get that and then that ESP style Les Paul mad Black with the green trim came out and I was like you know what I'm never going to get a chance to get this model again so I bought that and let's make a deal brother
Overall, it definitely sounds like an upgrade over the 2022 version, and that finish is GORGEOUS! Around 7:20, it looks like that flamed maple veneer actually does shift slightly in the light as you move the camera! That sculpted neck joint is beautiful, too! This guitar looks almost like a cross between an SG and a Jazzmaster-I notice that it’s not just the horns that are offset, but the bouts, too. Only problem is, this guitar is still an SG at heart… I don’t like SG’s! They don’t balance well, and the neck pickup placement makes it less round sounding than a Les Paul, and not as good for jazz. I absolutely LOVE that finish, but I’m scratching my head, trying to figure out why ANYONE would want an SG instead of a PRS Custom 24-style guitar (like the IYV IP-350), which has similar pickup placement (DESPITE having 2 more frets), an even better neck joint, and much better body/neck balance and better ergonomics than an SG.
Hi PG…thanks as always my friend for stopping in and sharing your thoughts. Great observations, and yes I agree that it is certainly “Mo’ Better” than the 2022 version. I use to play a Gibby SG as my main stage guitar back in the day….early 70’s…loved it until it got stolen. Still a traumatic experience to this day, but for me there is still a special spot in my heart for them. Yes, this is more a “offset” than a true SG, but I still like it as I enjoy offsets as well. As you know I have the IVY IP-350 in the arsenal too! I think the scale difference has a bit to do with the PRS feel as well…they start to feel more “Fenderish” to me than “Gibbish”….if that makes sense. 🎸👍
I want that blueberry in the LP model! I just received 2 LPs off the last run, the matte sunburst and the regular sunburst which has the ballend frets and locking tuners, I find it odd though both are LPs but they have different style bodies the horn is way more rounded on the one with the ball end frets
Hi Moonmaster! Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Congrats on your new LP’s!! The two were probably manufactured in different plants. Firefly will use different manufacturers for different models and sometimes between batches to keep inventory going.
