This is a video about very budget good looking car that is also a sports car that most of the people can afford. This is a small review and presentation of Pontiac Solstice to those who missed it the day it was born. - Авто та транспорт
Solstice was one man's vision for a return to fun afforadable sports cars. Bob Lutz is the father of ther Solstice and he acheived that gaol. The Solstice is a single purpose car; it's got very few compromises. No trunk space to really speak of, no storage bins all over not even easy to reach window contorls. They were supposed to be fun cars with the purpose of driving enjoyment.
very interesting piece of information about this 'toy'.
Have one, so fun to drive!
More compliments than any other csr i have had!
Always interesting to know.
Got one a year ago and I like it a lot, have zero regrets.
nice. I might make another video soon
I’m 79 and will be looking at a solstice as soon as I get home. This will be my third roadster if I purchase it, never notice them until a few weeks ago.
I did not realize they could be fun until I got into one of them
Have one and love it
Great! glad to know that
It’s absolutely stunning
Thank you !
I have the 08 2:4 stick, I would not take twice what I paid for it, I’m 71 yo and love ❤️ it.
thank you for such a nice feedback
The body of the Car is Hydroformed Sheet Metal {Doors, Fenders, Hood, & Trunk} except the front and rear...
The Turbo Charged Models that I know of has a on/off button that switches the Competitive Mode \ Turbo Boost and Traction. You can tell the Base Model from the GXP Turbo Sports Edition apart from the front end and dual exhausts. I owned both a 2007 & 2008 GXP Turbo Models was in an accident in one and did all of my research back in 2006. In the future, I recommend doing the research or carefully edit the videos before uploading. I'm a nice guy and still gave a like anyways on certain things about the car I could agree on, like the Iron Cast Manifold I recently had issues with was not cheap to fix lol
Thank you for your addition to this video. I was not trying to make a professional review on this car, because I don't do 'expert' car reviews. This was more of an introduction to this car for those that would consider something interesting and inexpensive to buy to 'play' with. There are a lot of more professional car reviews online, for those who need a better , in-depth , technical review of this car; I kind of more interested to give this model a second shot on the market. I do appreciate people like you , who participate in interests in cars like this and leaving very interesting comments like this to supports others interest.
Solstice production: 2006 -2009. The coupe / hardtop came out, limited production, in the final years. They are extremely rare now. I searched for a non-turbo, 2006, manual transmission, and found a beauty in Deep Blue. I wouldn't modify anything in / on this car. They are 'perfect'.
NEVER close the trunk that way. Push from higher up, let it fall into place. Those trunk-lid 'aero-fairings' can crack if you push against them too much. Also always have the doors closed first before closing the front hood.
thank you for adding ....
I just got my 06 with 69k miles on it and love it. It's my daily use car and gets me to a and b and c sometimes swiftly lol but love mine and enjoy giving it car washes every other day hoping to get another vehicle and keep the black widow for adventures eventually
I have a 2006 with every option except automatic and the Monsoon sound system. My car has a bit over 20,000 miles and is a weekend nice weather toy which sits in the garage most days . The top NEVER goes up, and it has never been driven in rain. I will never sell it.
nice little weekend toy to have with a modern design.
Love the look of this car
Great video!!
Thank you very much!
I love mine, it's just like it.
More people like you please...
Have the GXP version with stick shift, chassis upgrades and ecu flash. Total less than 1K in upgrades and rocks especially in really tight twisties embarrassing much newer way more expensive cars. Only thing after the inexpensive upgrades is put HP tires on it and did I mention it rocks?! The lower mileage ones are now going up in value meaning I "could" sell it for more than I paid for it years ago but I have too much fun with it on the weekends.
I have a 2007 Pontiac solstice, it weighs around 2800 lbs. and it’s panels are actually steel, I know that because I can stick my magnet light on it. Also the 2.4 is nothing to laugh about on that light car, it’s not a race car but it has no problems passing.
great to hear another opinion and facts from another good owner.
2.4 is a joke. Only 2.0 is something to talk about
You have a 2 l?
I love mine!
Good luck with that
Nice car. I would consider it as a weekend car too.
very good alternative to competitors
I love mine and yours
thank you thank you.
I could have stained a sun visor as a teenager, but luck to hit the horn these days
You have another cup holder on the side of the shifter that one is intended for the driver side but it's located on the passenger side
how 'convinient' . seems like everything is reversed in this car
Тачка огонь!
You bet... You should try it.
I don't understand why you keep saying the hood and panels are plastic. They simply aren't, they are metal. Can you not tell the difference as you sit there and touch it? Can you not see the bend seams? Also, the car is not considered light for its class, it is considered heavy when compared to similar roadsters. There is a lot in this video that is just plain wrong.
How tall are you? Just wondering if I would fit in one
about 6.2ft or 188cm
@@artworkslights thx I would fit in one! 🙏
@@Spendo good, Let us know how you like it in person
Im 6' and very comfortable in mine.
it deadass looks like he's slowly starting to hate the car as it goes
If you don't know the weight, look in the door jamb.
It was faded.
These are metal cars. Only front and rear bumper covers and plastic. Hood metal too.
i like my saturn sky better ;)
I am glad you like it too
