I’m looking forward to seeing the People’s Mosquito in the air in a few year’s time. Dad was a navigator in them in North Africa but I’ve never seen one for real so am looking forward to marking his memory and seeing this one fly. Good luck to all involved - great work!

The reason the Mosquito was successful was because they used Sitka timber from North West BC. The wood was light, yet incredibly strong and did not splinter when hit by shrapnel or bullets. The sad thing is the trees that were taken took 300 years to mature and all of the trees were taken from first nations territory. The Sitka Golden Spruce only grows in very specific conditions on the banks of the river Yakoon and has been so severely farmed for our love of war that it is considered extinct.
