Why is it that every one of the vids I watch/listen to ... The people are just sitting there while he preaches without backing him with ''Amen, Preach it brother''

it was preached some time in the 1980's. I do not know any thing more specific. But I have a lot of his videos along this time period and most were preached in the mid to late 80's.
