Watched this review and thought I'd go check out the poker tables. If visiting from out of town be sure to bring your physical ID. They don't accept digital drivers licence on the Services NSW app as I just discovered... My actual card is in Sydney 😭
Hi Crispin - can you please explain these new time rules in Crown/Star. The forced breaks every 3 hours, 12 hours and 36 hours and if they apply to overseas travellers as well. Also how does this work with tournaments? You couldn't have a tournament running over 12 hours then.
Hi yes so at Crown staff will approach you after 3 hours of play to tell you to take a break. If you play 12 hours continuously they will kick you out and you won’t be able to come back for another 12 hours. There’s a 36 hour limit in any 7 day rolling period so if you exceed that you’ll need to stay out till it has eclipsed. As for tournaments, they haven’t returned to crown yet, so don’t know how they’ll resolve that issue.
Ha! Honestly watching me play is really boring. There are some great poker vloggers, maybe I could review some hands in future, but there's a lot of content out there for that already.

Haha, unfortunately I don't really think so - floor managers are pretty strict and it's a bit cramped... however there is an elevated ledge where people sit and drink that overlooks the pit with a good view of the tables. So while they won't be able to sit behind you looking at your hands they can still catch a lot of the action.
RAKE UPDATE - Crown Melbourne has updated it's Max Rake Cap to $25 ! ($50 for 10/20). Worst rake in the world - zero stars!

When I went a few years ago, they would charge you $5 just to sit down at a cash table. Do they still do that?
Thankfully not! They got rid of that particular rake lol.

UPDATE - Crown Melbourne has reintroduced tournaments BIG TIME, running all day every day.
Yeah we hear the room is moving too. Will come and do an update in 2024.
Only ONE tournament 3 days a week, it's nothing. Poker is dead here
