Agree 100 percent, Andrew! This ancient Radio TV Veteran would have died for this tool twenty years ago! A wonderful station owner I worked for then spent over $100,000 to build a studio in Rural NC that this wonderful tool does now for less than one grand. That's why I am so proud to have the Pro II.
I bought this at launch and it had countless issues with routing, discord connectivity and OBS compatibility. I’ve seen a lot of people raising the same complaints, but very few acknowledging the corrections. If I just want to use this to record myself and my discord chat into OBS and a DAW will this actually work? The bells and whistles are nice, and make me want to give this another shot. But the functionality has to be there too.
People who run a dual-PC streaming setup would benefit greatly from this. One computer to play the game, another to stream the broadcast. With the Rodecaster Pro II's ability to connect to both, it's much easier and less of a headache to set up having your one mic output to both PCs (so both your streaming audience as well as the people you're voice-chatting with in-game), while also receiving audio from both PCs (not as groundbreaking, we've made do with line-in up until now). Redundancy is another, I suppose; if you wanted to make absolutely sure you could keep running your show even through a power outage and you typically work on a desktop without a UPS, you could connect a laptop to the second USB port and continue working from there.
Hey mate, great video. I still fill the rodecaster pro 2 is missing a critical thing, it’s the lag of virtual interfaces on the usb cables. There should be a fix with virtual cables, do you know how that works? I can’t use extra filters for my monitor c or hear music on stream, since it is one mixed signal back to the streaming computer

Is there any mixer that can break the gap between this and the likes of the Allen & Heath CQ Series which is just 100 more. I know the CQ12T/18T and RCP II are different categories as one is for PA and other is from Studio use but in my case where I do church CONFERENCE video and audio I can benefit from both. I am not controlling in house pa mix so that's why both would work.... Any thoughts?
My Daws, Reaper, Studio One and Pro Tools cannot be used. Asio Driver has errors on Windows 10 Pro. Not happy with it atm.. USB1 doesn't exist. cannot use. Very disappointed for windows users

Hey, Thanks for your vids! I cant find this answer anywhere and hoping you can..... Is it possible to turn off Mic Monitoring. I used the MIXCAST 4 as a USB Audio interface and Mixer for my Live Zoom Streams but because I cant turn off Mic Monitoring I get feedback and I'm not going to put on headphones. With straight USB interfaces I can toggle off or fade out the channel monitoring while still sending over USB. Is that possible on the Rodecaster Pro 2? I've written to Rode but havent heard back from them. I've loved everything about the Mixcast 4 except that..... Thanks!
@@HowardOlsen Actually at 7:40 doesn't solve the problem you're asking about, but with the latest firmware Rode added submixes which does allow you to adjust what is heard through your headphones while leaving the main output mix alone. Essentially it will do what you're asking.
@@jimhall1131 Thank you. I've get the latest firmware on and confirm it works like a charm on all of the outputs! But now I've got another problem - none of the sound pads work. The unit came out of the box with none of sounds (applause, etc) and none of the wave or mp3 files I load or drag will play....
@@HowardOlsen There seem to be a lot of issues related to the SmartPads. I actually need to exchange my unit because the pads activate randomly on their own. I haven't been able to use them for the some time now but would like to wait until Rode addresses it before the exchange. Someone posted a video about problems with their SmartPads and the comments were full of users having similar issues that have already exchanged theirs. I've not heard of units where they don't work at all though. Id try doing a factory reset, then call tech support. Probably should just exchange it as it should work out of the box. Be sure to test unit thoroughly, my first unit couldn't detect the memory card so it went back, now this one has SmartPad issues and a faulty networking chip. It can't connect to WiFi or through ethernet. I have to update it via the USB connection. I'm sure all these issues will get resolved in time. The price you pay sometimes for jumping on a new product too early.
@@jimhall1131 I loaded the latest stable FW, wiped the SD card performed a reset. Everything is working as it should and the factory installed sounds and effects have all shown up & I can now load y own sounds. So happy with this device now. Stream Deck, interface and DBX 286 are all off my desk desk and on Craigslist!

with the 2 usb's how would this fair for a dual streaming pc setup for gamers? i know alot of people use the goxlr will the goxlr be a better choice?

I think you answered my question at 7:40 - Yes, if I understand this correctly I can send the mic on Channel 1 out but not get it back on the monitor!
