      Molasses in silage is mostly to kick start the fermentation and doesn't play major role after the bacteria has established. There for 2% of the total wight of the silage. Mix the molasses with water to effectively reach most of the material

      The molasses is only there to feed the bacteria until sufficient quantities of them are established in the biomass. It’s pretty much anaerobic fermentation and the sugars speed the process up.

    Will the quality of silage still be ok , if I go beyond cob milking stage and then sell green mealies first and then do silage immediately after?

    Can i use any kind of grass or its only maize alone because for maize if i don't have that machine to chop and am using a pang, they will remain big
