I’m pretty sure at least one guy he played with said he was the worst teammate he ever had. It was on the Kings, and he was bullying a young Nathan Brown relentlessly. I don’t remember the name of the Kings player who said it though.
@@mjnorman9824 so then technically it's not even a valid response my friend. Hockey is all about chirps and sadly all the young players get the brunt of it. All the older ones alrwady went thru it. I'm sure if was true sean was joking and buddy didn't understand how to take a joke. Avery would have protected any team mate on his team at any given time
I have a signed Avery Kings jersey. He signed it for me when he was at the Valencia Ice Station for a publicity event. One of my favortie players ever and he's incredibly underrated because of his love for the extracurriculars
That rule change was the dumbest one I can think of in pro sports, the player should have the option of which way he's blocking the goalie's view. They changed it only because Brodeur was the bigger name and Avery wasn't liked.
It was true gamesmanship, and very creative but Its kind of dangerous though to have the back of your head unprotected as slappers are getting beamed in from the point. At least head on, with vision you can flinch a bit, maybe get a glove up. Imagine getting smoked in the back of the neck. Avery was crazy/brave to even do it.
He lived rent free in his head. Honestly I love Avery, lmao he was a beauty , a guy you want on your team and not the team your playing

Yes he was a genius. The league didn’t have an answer so they made one up.
The best is he scored right after he did it hahah

Sean Avery is one of my favorite players ever
Wait....so your favorite NHL player is an AHL player
@@bobjones3069Darren Haydar was a great AHL player. Avery was in the league for like 9 years.
@mr.brenman2132 I don't get your comment. Or why you tagged me in it.
@@bobjones3069 Why not?
Tom Renney was the coach at the time IIRC
