Huitzilopochtli was said to wear feathers and a hummingbird helmet. He carried a shield and a weapon described as a turquoise snake. He sometimes appeared as an eagle. The Aztecs believed that Huitzilopochtli fed on human blood and hearts.
He could not only take the form of an eagle, he could also take the form of a hummingbird, an his name means southern hummingbird in nahuatl (the language spoke by the Aztecs)
Huitzilopochtli has been illuminated in such a profound way. In a masterful performance, this film delves into the extensive mythology of the Aztec sun god and god of war. I am captivated and amazed by the realistic portrayal of his daily struggle to overcome nightfall and bring about the dawn of a new day. I must commend the creators for their amazing depiction of this renowned god and his lasting impact on Aztec culture!
Huitzilopochtli killed his 400 half brothers , even many of them tried to run and beg for mercy, but Huitzilopochtli had no mercy with them, he hunted them like rabbits, all of them become stars in the sky after dead. Finally he confront his sister Coyolxauhqui and although she fought better than her brothers, she could not defeat Huitzilopochtli who decapitated her and threw her head and limbs into the sky, turning her into the moon along with her brothers the stars, while Huitzilopochtli became the sun, being separated from they. That's why we only see the sun during the day, and at night we see the moon surrounded by stars running from the Sun, and appearing when he is not there.
So, was he very small? Because those are some awfully large hummingbird feathers. A commenter mentioned he wore a hummingbird helmet too....how big are hummingbirds in Mexico?!
Too bad Huitzilopochtli didn't appeared in Onyx Equinox, well actually Huitzilopochtli did appeared in Onyx Equinox but appeared as a possessed old man not in his true form
“Yeah so we invented a new god and yeah he’s also gonna need you to sacrifice yourself as well. I know right?!? What are the odds! I’m glad you’re being a good sport about this…”

One of the great challenges in this world is knowing enough about a subject to think you're right, but not enough about the subject to know you're wrong...
That’s because the sun wasn’t a god but a job position any god could fill. Usually one god took the job for a time before the world “ended” and when the gods rebuild another took the position to symbolize the new era
The most blood thirsty false god of all time or where the priest just possessed. The fact they where nomads says it all that the olmecs came there first and built the cities tge inhabited.

Perfect example of creation and destruction dancing simultaneously since the beginning 💯
This will be interesting. We’re diving into the Aztecs, an interesting group of people with even more interesting stories.
Great job with the pronunciation. Must be hard, many people have problems telling Nahuatl names.

The title of “Aztec god of the Sun” seems to be shared by a lot of Aztec Gods
