There are some fun classics on your shelves. The DAW paperback of Nifft the Lean is a great find. I've been looking for one (at a reasonable price) for a while.
Thanks! Soon ill have to re-shoot a shelve tour as my collection has vastly changed in the past 6 or so months. I had no idea the Nifft book was relatively scarce. I know nothing about it other than it sounded interesting. I've not yet read anything by Shea.
@@sciencefictionreads Shea’s Nifft books are quasi-sequels to Jack Vance’s Dying Earth series. Shea received permission from Vance to write them. You’re probably familiar with The Dying Earth and its role as one of the most influential fantasy/SF works of all time. Gary Gygax relied on it when designing the original D&D game; Fritz Lieber’s Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser can trace it’s roots to it; and Gene Wolfe’s Book of the New Sun series was written as an homage to it. That DAW paperback of Nifft the Lean is hard to find for less than $50.
Bro, I wish I knew someone like you in real life!! I _LOVE_ books, especially hard sci-fi! Our collections look very similar! Oooo yeah! Alastair Reynolds is one of my favorite modern hard sci-fi authors!!
Beautiful collection, showed my wife, she was imoressed. I have more books and bookshelves, but you have more scifi. You have a lot I've never seen, so subscribed. I really like Alastair Reynolds, but I'd have to put Henlein or Vinge as my favorite.
Great collection and as someone who is coming to appreciate more hard Sci-Fi coming from a fantasy reader I added some great authors to my list to check out. Hope to see more of the collection some day.
Science Fiction novels are the stuff of dreams. Robots, starships, epic space battles, alien worlds, time travel and wild adventures -- the ideas stay with you long after you have finished the book. Sci Fi art books are even better. These are my 2 favorite art books on Amazon: - Aviation Art by Lou Drendel - Great Fighter Jets of the Galaxy 1 by Tim Gibson
Such a stunning collection! I'm a fantasy reader myself but have been trying sci-fi the last couple of months and loving it so far. I haven't read a lot and nothing hard sci-fi (Red Rising saga and Dune) but I'm excited to explore more! I'm glad I found your channel 😄
Thanks! I'm the opposite, having recently started getting into some fantasy and enjoying it more than I ever expected. I'm sure your channel will contribute to my growing fantasy TBR!
I did actually read the whole thing! I just didn't like it as much as I expected. Its very unique though, i haven't read anything like it and i plan to re read it all again in the the future!
So wonderful to hear you like the DAW cover art! All the videos I see that mention cover art nowadays you usually make fun of illustrative art and heap endless praise upon the bland soulless computer generated typography that makes modern SF in distinguishable from modern mystery and modern general lit. And don't get me started on the inverted aesthetics of the Brits! ( In good fun.) Keep collecting. Rock on. Read more Moorcock. 😉
I have a copy of COWL by Asher. Did you enjoy that one? You need to check out heinlein if you haven't. I am almost done with his whole catalog. My favorite is "Door into Summer"
I own but have not yet read Cowl. I'm interested in seeing what an Asher stand alone is like. And I still haven't read any Heinlein but I plan to get to him sometime soon!
Love those classic sci-fi covers. They give off a nostalgic vibe.
I love those DAW yellowspines! Vintage scifi paperbacks have the best cover art.
Same here! I posted another video showing them all off. I’m always on the lookout for them at used bookstores.
That's a seriously impressive collection

Some authors I need to look into. Sometimes the less talked about authors are levels above the “critically acclaimed”
I love your channel, I find so much that no one else talks about. Thank you
Thanks so much! That’s what I’m here for!
Wow, love your collection, a bit jealous, honestly! Thanks for posting.

Thanks! I have so much Heinlein but still haven't read anything by him. Vinge is great. I just came across his first novel and picked it up for cheap.
Great collection and as someone who is coming to appreciate more hard Sci-Fi coming from a fantasy reader I added some great authors to my list to check out. Hope to see more of the collection some day.
Amazing collection! I see several of my favorite authors on your shelves.
Salute to a real one

amazing collection that is sure to provide plenty of escapism ❤️
Good stuff! I’m a huge fan of fantasy and recently been wanting to expand my sci-fi intake.
Terrific collection!
Thanks!

very cool collection id love to have some of those daw yellow spines
Mouth watering collection.Brilliant.
Thanks!
Awesome collection.
Very nice collection
Nice collection of DAW books. I'd love to see a video showing every cover.
I actually uploaded just such a video shortly after this one. No commentary but I do go through them all.
Holy hell, I almost pissed my pants for that _Fantastic Voyage..._
you really need to give Donaldson's Gap series a try. At the end of many chapters I was, literally, left shaking.
I did actually read the whole thing! I just didn't like it as much as I expected. Its very unique though, i haven't read anything like it and i plan to re read it all again in the the future!
Been eyeing neal Asher, might be time to take the plunge.
His books sat on my shelf for years before I finally tried one. Instantly became one of my favorites. Very cinematic at times and heavy on the action.
You have an awesome Book collection
Thanks! I just posted a much more updated tour video.

Well said! Thankyou, haha!
Wow ❤❤❤
You have a great collection.
Thankyou!
Do read the silo trilogy (Wool, Shift and Dust) by Hugh Howey. It’s so good. You won’t be disappointed.
It’s been on my list for awhile now! I deff will get to it!
@@sciencefictionreads you’re in for such a treat.
I bet some of that classic sci-fi would be worth a few bucks if put under the hammer.
Hey, that’s some great collection. I enjoyed watching this. Quick question: why do you have so many book tabs in some books?
Thanks! I used to annotate like crazy thinking I’d eventually go back and take notes for videos 😝.
What are those pieces of paper in your books. Nice collection.
Thanks! Sometimes I bookmark important moments or anything that might be relevant later, and sometimes I get carried away with it lol.
Cool.
Epic collection. Jk. That truely is a really well presented collection.
Thankyou!
Great collection.
Can I buy Great sky river by Gregory Benford from you :-)
Its hard to find the other ones are still available.
Thanks! I got my copy of Great sky river off Abebooks.com for around $4. There’s plenty of copies on there!
@@sciencefictionreads Yes,found me copy.I have number 5 already and read the first chapter and looks to be a good series.Number 1 arrives tomorrow.
if the price's not on the jacket, then it's a book club edition
Daaaang 🖤

what are those pieces of papers sticking from top of the books for?
I used to annotate like crazy lol
Great collection but I didn't realize annotating could become a mental disorder lol
Lmao! It can indeed!
Btw, I definitely followed you way back in the day when you were playing WoW. Your channel name just brought back some memories!
@@sciencefictionreads oh wow that's random, I just got into booktube lately and found your video
