I like how they showed anorexia and bulimia from different sides, both abigail and kat. Some people don’t throw up in their eating disorders, but just not eat at all :( I relate with Abi
The thing is, it's not really that mean. It's more of a saying when someone doesn't lift themself up, but in Abigail state, she took it to heart and felt like Ms. Raine was commenting on her actual weight. It's so important though to be sensitive towards a student... And to know that those comments, even if not meant that way, can be understood very wrong and lead to a horrible outcome..
Hanna B i don’t think she was commenting on her weight or looks but on her forcing and pushing herself too hard. I think it means that the way she was doing the exercise made it look bad. When you are dancing you are supposed to look like air. Abigail was forcing it too much but if course she took the comment the wrong way
This is so sad and I’m really glad more people are talking about this I cried watching this. Ballet can sometimes be a very judgy sport but girls know you are all BEAUTIFUL 😘
Not just ballet. All athletes are much more likely to suffer with eating disorders. Its the side affect of being strong minded and pushing your body to its limits to achieve the best it can.
she's not a twig like a lot of dancers, but she is one of the best dancers on the show and is absolutely gorgeous. Even in ballet, her body is still beautiful❤️
it’s really sad how eating disorders are so normalized in sports like dance, gymnastics, cheer and figure skating. i’ve done all of these and as a 13 year old even i had an eating disorder mentality at only 6 years old also half the girls in my gymnastics team had eating disorders and they were mostly encouraged by other girls and parents
We need more touching and deep and great tv shows like this one, this one is one of the last great shows i watched, nowadays there are no longer shows like this one.
Eating disorders also don’t have to go on in normal sports or in teenage years. I learned about eating disorders when I was 8, because I’d go long breaks without eating, or sometimes binge to make up for the long times without eating. Never figured out whether I was anorexic or Bullimic. Parents bullying their children and terrorizing them can just as much be a reason as sports
I saw this video, then I decided to watch the series. The moment she talked to her sister I realized I am just like her, even though I'm not mean. I can't let people love me because I hate myself so much, and I always hurt them, no matter what I do... I hurt them if I let them in because I'm not fine and they are as helpless as I am or I push them away in advance
It’s nice to see the different sides of eating disorders some of them are not as clean cut as this and the signs are hard to spot unless you’re VERY observant
I understand. I had a similar personality to abigail. I had to drop out of ballet cause of anorexia. Unfortunately im not fine yet and i don’t know if i’m ever going back to it...
I like how they showed eds in athletes. I suffer from anorexia and a little bit bulimia and am an athlete. I don‘t look seriously underweight and I definetely eat more than the other patients in my treatment facility but I have to work out 6-7 times a week and am in a deficit for months. I feel like society sees eds as a malnourished, white girl in puberty whos diet went to far. That‘s not the case and you can have an ed no matter how much you weigh and how old you are.

@@soufleur5015 well I believe it's time we stopped perpetuating the stereotypical mold of what a dancer "should" look like. it reduces the art to something industrial and homogenous and robs the dancer from enjoying her craft, preoccupies her with a harmful, outdated ideal and wastes the time she could use focusing on her technique. it is a sign of poor artistry if you believe it takes a certain weight to be a good dancer.

Angel Miracle same
stay strong :((
omg yes sometimes I feel so invalid for not throwing up
I'm like abbie as well
My name is abigail too lol
I hated it when Mrs.Rayne called her a sack of potatoes it really made me feel bad even though her character is really mean

Brookie Cookie they meant she wasn’t holding herself correctly. She was just laying there like a sack of potatoes.
Ballet teachers aren't sensitive. They are brutally honest.
Spencer Hastings yeah I know

I used to watch this show over and over when i was little but i literally dont remember Abi nor Kat having eating disorders its so weird
Madeleine Lawton same
Me too
same lmao
Me neither! I kinda went through the same with Degrassi when I rewatched it
Yeah, so did I. I think I just didn’t understand it, so I completely forgot this happened.
I think other eating disorders should be portrayed, disorders like binge eating are just as intense and life threatening, but not really shown a lot.
Kat had bulimia, which was shown in season 3
Thanks for your feedback 😘, those are very sensitive topics but we all should talk about them ! Which disorders are you thinking of?
Well I think they picked anorexia with Abigail and then bulmia with Kat because those are very common disorders within the dancing world
Kat has bulimia and the b/p (binge/purge) type
I actually really like how you show handle tough subject and the guts to tackle for kids
she's not a twig like a lot of dancers, but she is one of the best dancers on the show and is absolutely gorgeous. Even in ballet, her body is still beautiful❤️
I lot of her was muscle. And her stature makes her look less thin. She’s muscular and shorter compared to a typical dancer
She is curvy thats all

OMG! : /
I think she looks really healthy. But in reality for classical ballet she needs to reduce.
in reality she is one of the strongest dancers in the school and her weight doesn't at all interfere with the quality of her movement.
@@babewthepower ohhh, I am not sure, I think they are actors and no dancers in reality...
