I'm from New Zealand, I have a 2017 Vitara turbo auto front wheel drive. Have done 28k and not one problem. I'm averaging 6 litres per 100km but as our speed limit is 62 miles per hour my fuel consumption has been as low as 5.5 litres per 100km. The build quality is high as have no rattles or squeaks even after owning it for over 18 months and the mileage I have done. The plastics are hard and scratchy but cleaning is a breeze and durability will out last other car makes. The Suzuki Vitara turbo is really underrated for what you get, reliability, economy, low servicing cost, and the ability to handle in town and highway driving comfortably.
Pocket rocket! Is exactly what it is. I love my 2018 S series AWD...understated little machine that while maybe not a sleeper but surprisingly quick...especially in Sport mode. And as you say, it is so practical that myself and the boss are super impressed by our purchase. We feel that deep grey with all-black alloys and black side pieces and front trim gives it a little extra toughness and yeah, of course we are biased, but check it out! Such fun to drive. Cheers for an excellent honest review!
One of the better videos about this Vitara s.... reviewing it for what it is not comparing it to the likes of a Audi BMW an Mazda etc.. I love mine even more with the remap 170 bhp now.. faster than what folk think it is for a Suzuki.
TomKentMusic 0/60 mph being clocked at 7.6...standard Says it's around 10 which isn't true before the map I had it about 9s but the torque has gone up to about 300 which makes a big difference.
Australian tests revealed Suzuki understates its performance (which is rare). Using proper instruments (rather than a stop watch and uncalibrated speedometer) they were recording 8.2/8.3s to 100kph on properly run-in examples
It works in the same way. Your power difference is in snow/auto an sport just tightens the throttle response as before. But I don't know if they is a different map you could have now which will allow it to work in sport only? I'd wait until the swift sport becomes more popular so more maps will be available as it's the same engine.
I've got one, has it 4 years. My only real gripe is so-so quality (it is a cheap car, and feels like it in places) and ... For the life of me I cannot get it comfortable. Just about good enough not to immediately get rid, but I've never found a perfect seating position. It's fine for a trip to the shops, but that's about it.
@@TheAutoDad nice one.. look forward to your review.. mine is in for its first service today so i have the 2019 basic vitara as a courtesy car. very nice..
old sx4 or GrandVitara are significantly better than all competitors too. I have sx4 since 2010 - It's a great car! 1.6 has acceleration time 10.7 sec - it's faster than 2.0 cometitors like duster captur or hundai
Is the Vitara S the best all round vehicle for the price? Are you surprised by the tech for the price? Let me know..
love it!!
nice! Its so cute! :3
Really impressive for the money,

Glad to hear of another happy owner. Great cars!
Good review. We have an sz5 allgrip and it’s fantastic.

Thanks for that. Glad it showcased the car properly. 170bhp must be rapid!!

Alison Crocker I've only done it on stopwatch method 🤪....so my 0/60 with could better than 7.6 then with 170 bhp (168) after remap
What does the remapping do to the 'sportmode' function, how does this work out? thinking to do the same...
great to see you testing all types of cars from expensive to cheap.
So much coming up, can't wait to share it!
I already order one today. Is a vitara s like yours, lets see how it goes!
You'll enjoy it!
Not what I expected you to say about a cheaper SUV, looks great!
It's decent, could cost 10k more and still be impressive.
Vitara is very cheap great crossover having PREMIUM acceleration time - 8.1 sec up to 100 kmh. It's faster than Tiguan 2.0 for example..
A very comprehensive review - in what ways would the describe the ride and handling abilities of this Vitara compared to the Land Rover Evoque?
Evoque is a totally different beast so couldn’t really compare.
Lovely video as always, Tom! :3
Thanks!

very good review, thanks.. i have the 2018 s model same as you and love it..
Amazing! I’ve got the new one coming next month ish - review on that will be live shortly after.

superb video, really informative. good to see their sport history is making a show in their normal cars too.
I’m glad you enjoyed it. It does look great.
Did you try it in sport mode?
I tried it in every mode! :)
Interesting. Better than a Duster? The Vitara S is the competitor right?
Not better, different. :)
of course better) Did u с duster interier? Duster is a true shit-car.
The new one is significantly closer in terms of build quality etc n

i was wondering when you'd cover this! :)) will post again once ive watched the video.
Oh great! :)
Brilliant car. I have one and love it.
They’re great!
if they'd give us an up-scale interior I'd jump at one. In fact I'd give an extra $4,000 AUD for a new interior with soft quality plastics and panels
That was definitely letting it down. The tech and everything else is so good.
well done!
Thanks a lot.
fake 4x4? 115 ps? oh boy......
Did you try it in sports mode?
