  • My 9th and 10th grade classes designed and tested catapults. They launched marshmallows to test each design. I'm impressed with the creativity they showed throughout the building process!
    School is awesome!

There's absolutely nothing wrong with their creativity, but they don't seem to know a whole lot about siege engine construction, then again, you can't expect that from a bunch of kids. Reminds me of back in the days when I invented "Bar Ballistics" as some Scottish dude named Steve I met at my local water hole called it - the idea is to build siege engines out of whatever is present in the pub, and whatever you've got in your pockets. I managed to build working desktop sized replicas of a ballista, a mangonel, and a trebuchet while getting drunk off my ass, out of beer coasters, straws, pens, wooden skewers, loose change, threads pulled from an oily rag I had in my back pocket, matches and matchboxes. Those were the days, launched a whole lot of peanuts and skewers back then, good memories.:-)

That looks like so much fun! Thank you for both doing this for our kids and for sharing it with us parents! :)
