    This was me 3 years ago I literally was in tears because I was sooooo upset with my cricut which I had had for years but realized once I opened my shop that it was not meant for print and cut. Cricut is great for vinyl project with no issues but print and cut is awful and it’s been years with no fixing and I don’t get it. I got the silhouette portrait at first cause I only needed it for stickers and I was in love and still use it daily. I have also purchases the cameo and use it daily as well. If anyone reads this and wants to make stickers please invest in at least a silhouette portrait because you will be very upset with cricut continued issues for its print and cut feature. I still love cricut just not for print and cut.

    I own a Cricut explore and a Cricut Maker. While I still use them, I purchased a Silhouette Portrait 3 in January just for print & cut and have not turned back to the cricuts for this function. ❤ learning curve yes but the program and the machine is so worth it!

    I switched from years of Cricut machines. I've probably bought 10 of those things........ I love my 2 Cameos. Got them on Amazon for $225 and both came with a bunch of HTV, ink pens, Transfer vinyl plus more. I am loving it! Wait until you learn how to cut your own rhinestone designs. You are going to love that! Silhouette Business Edition is so worth it!

    I have both cricut maker and silhouette cameo 4 I use both for various reasons. I cut felt alot on the cricut, most everything else on my cameo. I am getting ready to buy the cameo 5 and the electrostatic mat so no more mats!! I am so excited for it. The software is tougher for people to learn but so much more you can do. Since you are new it will take you a while you know your machine because trust me I have owned about 10 silhouettes and everytime the settings are different from one to another. Also I HATE a sticky mat. I take tshirt over the mat to desticky them a bit. Alot of us will use tape on old mat just to avoid the sticky so that is why I am excited to get the electrostatic mat. Good luck it looks like you are doing great!

    Try the silhouette portrait. It will be great for stickers it also doesn’t have registration issues. I have two Cameo 4’s and they have registration issues. I have 2 Cameo 3’s and they have no registration issues. The portrait doesn’t have registration issues either. I still use Cricut but mainly for vinyl or cutting a lot/ certain things because the blades are cheap. I absolutely love cameo.

    I also have a Silhouette Cameo 2, it has been good so far with it, it has like 9 years with me, I bought it of a secong hand store, it did not had all of the extra equipment, I had to buy the matress and blade separately, but it has been really good with me, I had an system upgrade like a month ago, and it works really good. I am think on buying a critcut because i need it for cutting felt, the silhouette even with the most stronger blade does not fully work for it, it works reallly well with paper and vinyl, but with felt that is were the problem is, so I am thinking of trying Cricut just for it.

    • @carolion23
      @carolion23 8 місяців тому

      If you want to cut felt I think you need the cricut maker (the more expensive one) as I believe you may need the rotary blade.

    • @blusheddesignsco
      @blusheddesignsco  8 місяців тому

      If you are planning to cut felt I would probably suggest the Cricut Maker, the newer one is probably your best bet in terms of it lasting. I mainly switched to the Cameo for the print and cut features, but I will say I prefer my cricut for other materials that do not involve Print and Cut! I hope this helps :)

  • @chantalleledesmaa

    i dont do print then cut cause i dont have a printer and i dont think i'll be getting one anytime soon (do to people saying cricut sucks at print then cut and me not having the money to spend on a printer nor wanting one) im fine with vinyl as personalizing things is what i do and what my small business is all about, i dont make stickers nor do i use printable stuff i only do personalized cups, tumblers, water bottles, mugs, libbey glass cups and other personalized items that do not include apparel and can well be done with vinyl. i do intend to work with heat transfer vinyl at some point but thats it no print then cut

  • @chantalleledesmaa
    @chantalleledesmaa 5 місяців тому

    i was thinking of getting a printer and making my own stickers but i dont think they would sell (im also not good at drawing) and including them as freebies i dont think is ideal so im sticking to vinyl projects whether id be regular permanent vinyl or heat transfer vinyl, i do again at some poiint wanna make acrilyc keychains with vinyl and coat them with uv resin to give them a glossy finish and so that the vinyl lasts longer

    Ahhh this video is so on point for me right now!! I have literally cried and well yes screamed at my Cricut that I have had for 7 years and until I started doing Print and Cut, I have had no problems. Let’s face it, Cricut is not made to do what we need it to do for Sticker Making!! I am fully ready to switch over to a Cameo but after a lot of research in the last few months, I have decided to get the newest version the Cameo 5 but Im a little extra apparently because Im holding out and waiting until they release the PINK one!! In March 2024!!?? Why am I waiting??? I have no idea but to justify buying such an expensive new tool, I need to love it and right now Im not loving the plain white or black ones.. I need that pink one! LOL…. I dread the changing of all of my files over to a new system. I cant imagine how long that is going to take. I have over 300 sticker designs and so many bookmarks and tons of things I have stored in my cricut. Oh and let’s also talk about the fact that the cricut is not only psycho and decides at random times it just isnt going to cut anywhere near the right places and litearlly cuts a whole sticker maybe an inch or two off from where it actually is, Your cut you showed on this video was leaps and bounds better than mine when it is angry. I have recalibrated it so many times, changed all the settings, blades, pressure passes, all of it. But the latest issue I have is that when a lot of people are online using their cricut, it seems to be SOOOOO SLOW!!! Just to load a screen you think it has timed out and then after sometimes 2 or 3 minutes it will pop up, I usually have no faith that it will even cut right at that point. I am so happy to see that you are loving the new machine!!! I just need that pink one to be released earlier!!! LOL Love your vlogs… What part of Canada are you from? My husband is from the Toronto area. We live in Florida… Always fun to watch your vlogs and hear the Canadian accent pop up here and there 😊

      HMMMM exactly me, I was a mess the day before I filmed this video LOLLL. Cricut is horrible for print and cut but it is fantastic for other projects and cutting a wide range of materials The Pink Cameo 5 sounds soooooo cool!
      I am from Toronto as well lol! It's funny because I've heard before that people can guess I am canadian from the way I talk, but I don't hear it ahah! I guess because I live here so I am used to how we talk 😆

    I’m new to sublimation but I was wondering if you could make a video on how to make a split image in adobe to print your images bigger if that makes any sense. Also would you mind sharing what are your printer setting set before printing for sublimation!!!

    • @blusheddesignsco
      @blusheddesignsco  8 місяців тому +1

      I will definetly make a video soon all about sublimation, but for now, to print an image larger what you do is go into Adobe PDF print, and then on the print options it'll give you the option to change to "Poster" then from that screen you can change the scale depending on how big you want the image to print out. Then it'll print onto two sometimes three sheets, then you tape them together and booyah!

    Not sure if it is worthy, but my cricut blade holder was not strong enough, so the blades were going up when cutting and as a result it was not cutting correctly. I had to add masking tape to make the blades holders thicker…. It is worth to see if that is the case. ❤

    I have a silhouette and it is pretty unreliable for my business. It’s quirky and whenever they do an update with their software they break something. You also cannot get any customer support and the UA-cam community is the only place you can rely on to trouble shoot. Their rating on the Better Business Bureau says it all. 🫣I’m glad others have had success but I wouldn’t buy another one. I’ve been eyeballing the new Siser Romeo or Juliet. It’s supposed to be better, however their software is till a work in progress.
    Good luck with your business!
