  • Divine Assembly..
This title was suggested by someone in the fb groups.. wish i could have remembered who.. but it seems apropos..
Spray and drip.. Copper .. gold and pearl.. and Golden High Flow
All paints mixed only with floetrol and water. I used distilled water in my spray bottle to help the paint drip down the canvas. The base coat is Rust-Oleum Metallic Accents in Pearl. I used a Sargent copper, Molten Metals gold, Golden's high-flow iridescent Copper and Pearl..
I really like the effects this technique gives. The softness of the shapes. I did two previous paintings called Ice Falls using the same technique. I swipe colours across the upper section above the drips to create an interesting texture.
I have also added Golden's high-flow iridescent Pearl to the sky area above the copper clouds
I just noticed my Tia's tail.. at the top.. She sits in the bay window watching chippies. .

Had the music not been so relaxing and beautiful, I would have been shouting "Stop" when you began swiping. But, of course, just like Cathleen, you know what you are doing and the result is amazing.

this one moves me almost here! It reminds me of the view of looking in our family’s cottage window in Maine. The reflection of the trees and the water across the lake in reflection of the light in the sky after the suns gone down beyond the trees.

I watched this early this morning and came back again for a second take. This was totally a meditative video. Felt like I had to pull myself out of a deep state of calm bliss after watching. It sure turned out purrrdy Gail..🥰 Edit: Now I know why I wasn't sure if I was seeing a pup or kitty. This morning I watched on my TV and the screen vertical so I didn't see the whole view. Now on my phone I was able to expand the screen and see your sweet pup.

Gail this is a breathtaking piece of art. I love this new spray and drip technique you have been sharing with us. I’m wondering, although your video was just over 17 minutes long, how long did this piece actually take to complete? My next question is where do you find the Rustoleum metallic paints? Thank you for sharing your incredible talent with us all. I feel so blessed to be able to watch and hopefully learn a bit from your videos.

Thank you so very much. I got my Rust-Oleum paint in Canada at hardware stores. I went to Home Depot and also Rona. They're in the paint section and it's a good size jar. I think this piece to be probably close to 40 minutes.. I tend to ponder a fair amount about whether the piece is finished or not

Gail. I think the texture is incredible, once again using the high flow! Do you think you would get the same effects if you have the hard body iridescent paints mixed to the consistency of the high flow? I managed to snag some Golden pearl and copper on eBay at a very good price so I have that but simply cannot afford the high flow. I'd love to try this technique for sure. You are so innovative. I Ice Falls was fantastic and I simply adore it and the technique as you used here. Before you swiped the drips above the main copper & gold portion looked like copper trees on a hill so I was a bit disappointed that they disappeared but as always you make it right. While it was looking like trees I was hoping to see some very pale blue in among the high flow pearl but I was not in your head and you had different plans. It matters not because it turned out beautiful regardless. It did give me some ideas so thank you for the inspiration as always. I'm thinking the tree idea as if they are in a steep ridge of a rock cliff with a touch of green, silver, darker silver, pearl, a pewter color, you know what you might see levels of rock and stone with dirt and a touch of green here and there, I have to think it through but you've inspired me to think of it. Any tips you want to offer up would be happily accepted! Wonderful job, sp BRAVO!!

I can't wait to see what you come up with. I've not tried applying Golden Fluid acrylics directly to a painting to see what happens. I do think it is different. It would be interesting to see what happens. I'm glad I inspired you to give this a try. Please tag me when you do add love to see your outcome
