As of recording this video the secret wasn't out, but it looks like it is now. I'll have a video about the nebula fragments and what you get once I get my own and can make one.
The problem is not how I'd compare it to other Expansions, but more how it compares to past content packs. And compared to that, Old packs like Sands, Vault of Night or even Vale of Twilight (6 Quests + 3~4(!) Raids) definitely win out. Decent amount of quests, new/filled areas, Raids, all for way less than this "mini expansion" (and free to VIPs). I already was heavily disappointed that the Wild Hunt raid was not included in Feywild, meaning compared to Ravenloft and Sharn we only got 1 Raid instead of 2 in conjunction to less quests with 14 in Feywild vs 19 in Sharn. But then again, that missing Raid (raid_hunt and raid_satyr appeared at the same time in quest completions, mind you) will be added in a later date (and probably sold seperately). Also, the "Nebula Fragments Riddle" already got solved and added to the Wiki: ddowiki.com/page/Item:Nebula_Fragment I am currently having a time off DDO, but I am unsure if I even would buy Saltmarsh if I play. It feels very forced with the new toys locked inside of it and especially just coming off another expansion 2 Releases prior (Remember, between Feywild and Saltmarsh there was ONLY Planar Eyes!) this feels very greedy.
Back to Basics was the most nostalgia inducing gaming experience ever. It's modeled after the very first dungeon I played. It was on the back few pages of the original rule book
I'd still definitely recommend any actual expansion above this. Arguably Storm Horns are more of a must have, from a gameplay/quest perspective. In Saltmarsh I've found lots of leverpulling and running around, a few cool features yes, but it doesn't even begin to compare to RL and not even Sharn nor MotU tbh.
Groups that I've been running wish that Saltmarsh was a different level than 3. There are a LOT of Level 3 (and Level 5) quests. I agree that the other Level 3 quests do tend to be easier. Of course, on Hardcore Server, a decent group is going to run these in Heroic and pickup better gear than most other quests before Fey. The loot drops at a good rate (unlike Sharn which is among the worst?). Well, other than Ethereal Ring from Final seems to drop less often than I'd like. I haven't been listening to the music and interaction as much as I could. However, my favorite expansion pack (and many I spoke to) is RavenLoft, but I'm open to change.
Recent play since the update showed me everyone needs to pay attention to their gear and level it up! I think it’s a solid wake up call to everyone to work on performance and choices…
I thought the music was ok but personally I liked Feywild's more. The content in legendary actually felt easier to me in terms of the mobs than sharn or feywild. Though I haven't played those 2 much since U50 to see how the stat squish affected that. Maybe it's just a build thing or difficulty level thing, have been running on R1/EE solo and R4-R7 in groups.
Once you know the path you can also tag a few optionals along the way for saltmeadow hay/artifacts while you go too. Like Invitation to dinner, it is intimidating at first but it can be made fairly straight forward.
That weapon is the staff of summer solstice from the dryad and the demigod raid. It is a cosmetic as I believe he is using the Spear of the Mournlands as his actual weapon.
I'd love to buy an expansion that is like LETS FIX ALL THE BORING QUESTS AND AWFUL BUGS. (I'd legit buy that or pack that is like, here is how you can stop playing inventory management 2021 and just give us 20-50 dollars Can we get that expansion... devil's assault what 20 years later still being the most dull boring quest, when its actually a unique idea within ddo for a tower defense-style adventure.
Honestly, it would be interesting if we could actually place some form of defenses in that quest, a bit akin to the Blight Mode in Path of Exile. Would definitely turn it from "dull" to "long, but unique" if done well.
@@Cleruian Absolutely. I would love to see some changes to existing content and pay for it. But i am not going to sub to DDO for a while if ever again. there are other games out there like ff14, ashes etc.
quests punching out 100K plus xp is good imo / the loot runs are awesome for getting legendary items to feed to your sentient weapons add in the 1000xp / Awesome content that I run daily :))

Agreed. I’m not buying it. It’s just a cash grab IMO.
I’ve really enjoyed it so far…our whole group has it. A nice addition and worth $90 for all the bling. Cheaper than therapy!

My favorite expansion hands down / farm it daily...incredible drop rates
totally needs a large xp buff other than that its actually really good
What a great review. Wow, you really nailed it. Love your content.

I'm puzzled by the fact that salt marsh is a little harder than other epic content. I thought the rebalance of epic levels was supposed to fix that.
I hate The Final Enemy once under water, legit the sonic blasts wrecked me so quick

I’m new in the game and just bought the expansion yesterday :) didn’t know it was that new
You can do the lizard queen quest and the sahaugin fort quest in 10min or less? That's fast.

Il y a tellement de jeux video DnD !
i hate Danger at Dunwater
Great vid! What weapon is that monk using at 17:09?

@@Strimtom Ah okay. Thanks for the answer!
any feywild quarterstaff looks like that also
Did you figure it out?
Drop rate of nebula fragment is 0.00000001% and you will need 1 each to upgrade an item to perfected artifact. Good luck 🙄

They’ve time to nerf stuff but the vast majority of epic loot from MotU up to Slavers is garbage

No bud, it's not better than Ravenloft
This quest pack sucks
No exp and the loot is not something to farm at all.
Quests not good also.
I fail to see how can you recomend this to people.
