The first time I listened to Dawn FM and it got to this track, I immediately knew this was going to be a hit, the way he samples Midnight pretenders, and how he adds his own twist to it is so smooth.

I think it's time for The Weeknd's "Trilogy" era fans to let go of the Trilogy. We all loved that mixtape series. House of Balloons came out over 10 years ago. He's changed, we've all changed. He's no longer homeless, depressed, etc. We can appreciate that era but we need to accept that we will probably never hear that kind of music again. The first time I listened to Dawn FM and it got to this track, I immediately knew this was going to be a hit, the way he samples Midnight pretenders, and how he adds his own twist to it is so smooth.
I won't deny that this song sounds really good productionwise, but isn't this pretty much a full on rip off? I mean he pretty much copied everything from the Original, this isn't just a tiny sample. Even his singing is similar to the original at some points.

I think it's time for The Weeknd's "Trilogy" era fans to let go of the Trilogy. We all loved that mixtape series. House of Balloons came out over 10 years ago. He's changed, we've all changed. He's no longer homeless, depressed, etc. We can appreciate that era but we need to accept that we will probably never hear that kind of music again.
