The thing about kow is its too balanced, each army has near similar stats for balance thus making it chess pieces and boils it down to just statstical/avg rolls based on luck. Sure there are some deviation for each factions but wild randomness is still controlled. Compared to old wh fantasy, imagine casting spells that makes things super random, where things can be extreme on the balance scale. It makes things fun, random, and a deviation from chess piece.
