If people who watched the original campaign doubt him coming back, then I don't know if they fully watched it. There are many paths in which they can bring him back. Tali himself said that it would be based on what is said by his group if Percy was revived in the original campaign.
The saddest thing about Percy's death is the impact on the team. Not only Vex's reaction but seeing the others like for example Grog speechless and hopeless being known for his humorous personality really hits hard
Although Percy dies in a similar way in the original story, I just can’t see them killing him off indefinitely. He’s one of the most beloved characters in the show and as we know in DnD characters come back from the dead all the time. They revived Vex so they’ll likely do the same with Percy. His body is gonna be a little ripe tho. 💀💀
Yeah I don't like the idea of Percy dead indefinitely either. The thing with Vex is that I believe that she would've returned shortly as the champion of the Raven Queen with her vestage on but Vax intervined and well he became the champion instead. Percy here not only got killed but it looks like his soul is being taken by Orthax to feast upon it. That's the real issue because if he stays dead long enough either his body will be to deteriorated to fix or Orthax ends up destroying his soul so there wouldn't be anything to save (like for example Brok from GOW Ragnarok)
Have read an article to this, they said they changed the script a little as death would feel inconsequential if characters can get revived that easily.

It truly takes a special thing to help stand yourself out amongst those who are already extraordinary in power. Percy as a character is built on overcoming overwhelming odds as a normal human only having his wit and intellect as his tools. The fact this show made him my favorite character out of all the cast says a lot about how this show is written. Truly noble to the end and back.
Finger crossed he´ll be back in the finale. I find it complicated to fit his resurrection on any point on what could be the season 4´s arc (not to mention that many would loose it if they had to wait a year or whatever´s the time until next season without him being around)

These scenes break our hearts. We know that if the source material is followed, Percy will return, but it doesn't change everything our protagonists go through and what we see and feel. I laugh at people who complain when they resurrect a dead character, saying that it 'takes away meaning or impact' from the death of said character, because most shows that do that aren't Dragon Ball, where a character can be resurrected easily and quickly (and even then it still gave us epic and sad deaths) The resurrection processes like the material in this show are NOT easy or fast, so the death of the character is felt, and even when he returns, it does NOT mean that time hasn't passed or affected the rest of the cast.
Spoilers, I guess, for a theory. Did anyone else catch that the souls of those killed by the firearms go to the demon? I think it has Percy's soul and that's how they'll eventually get him back. I haven't seen this theory anywhere but I'd be shocked if I'm the only one that noticed as critters are incredibly analytical when it comes to details of lore.
