I was so lucky to see a performance like this live when i went to kyoto last spring we werent allowed to film. It was so powerful and mysteriously made me so emotional. Japan is just fascinating
I watched Kamisama years ago I didn't know Nanami ritual dance was real till now. I found this video while researching jiuta mai dance...wow amazing. I wish I could see this in real life. Beautiful ❤
Apologies for my ignorance but is this dance preformed as a ritual to the God of the Sun or in relation to fire? Any answers would be vastly helpful, thanks 🙏
miko kagura was usually done in honor of the sun goddess, performed in royal palaces. unlike Soto kagura (a popular version made by villagers / simple people)
Am I the only one that finds it annoying and rude that people are comparing this to an anime. Like this is peoples culture and people keep commenting on how an anime did it better or there from an anime. Like just enjoy and watch not everything from japan is about an anime.
Just learning about this dance for my school project and then i saw the pathetic people in the comment. life is sad. people compare animated film over real life
She's beauty,
