Dave, you & I are in total agreement about the Fender truss rod access & that ball-end on the wrench! I wish they would put the adjuster at the headstock on ALL of them & be done with it!!!
I've learned so much from Dave's channel! I wish he was closer so I could ship my basses to him. Hello from the almost great white north! Brent, VT USA
Well... there's a rumor going around that - yes, 3 of Fender's Board members do play bass guitar. One of them plays a Gibson Thunderbird; one plays an Alebmic Orion; and one of them plays a Rick 4003...😆
Fuck me - glad you're Canadian - middle class English person with some punk heritage (thanks Dad)! Feeling some synergy with you across the pond : ) Thank you for all of your videos - I've used many of them - you're the best at putting things simply relative to cost / just saying it's a lost cause... Your back seems better and I'm really glad for that. As an aside - I did ask a long technical question once and your answer was just 'no' - made me laugh : )
We also had our first real snow here in Central Wisconsin. The roads were terrible, but people weren't driving like idiots (at least from what I saw...
Yep, I agree…why Fender? I guess “vintage” means it has to not work like it can or should! I have a Fender Japan one like that and I had to take the neck right off to adjust the truss rod FFS.
I have the regular 60th Anniversary American Standard Precision bass and it's a great one. My favorite thing about it is that the body is 1/16 of an inch smaller all the way around which make's it more comfortable to play than any other Precision bass I've played. That one there was the fancier one that you just perfected though.
I was confused until I realized this was celebrating 60 years of the Precision, not 60 years of Fender (my 60th Anniversary Jazz bass is 2006). I've always wanted this style of p bass. Alas I don't think there's any reissues that are a little more reasonably priced, or at least I never see 'em, and the "telecaster bass" models just don't have the right vibe. So far I've been considering a Schecter Model T, but I'll have to play one first.
Another 60th Anniv. Jazz player! Hell yeah, brother! That's the first nice guitar I ever bought myself and one I will own forever. What a treat that thing is to play; it just goes!
Fender should stop hiring Boeing engineers to design their instruments. Ie: Access to truss rod, Machine heads, ect……. Imagine if the Fender name wast not on the headstock, sales would plummet significantly……
are we tribulating yet? will you pass muster when the 'rapture/time line split' takes place and splits the positives from the negatives? good luck with it! lol
Dave+Fender Bass=Oh YES!!😊

Great stuff dave thank you for your excellent content i always learn new things from you 😊
You talking about snow and cold made me feel like I was in the back seat listening to My Girl by Chilliwack.
Great job Dave, cheers!

Hey all right. I have one of these in the blonde color.

happy holidays dave
Really nice bass.
Yoo! Awesome video as always!
I appreciate you and thank you for making content.
Great vid, Dave! I've been meaning to ask what the opening music is. Great groove!
Looks better without the pickguard, I think... Pity a bit the c and c machine hole.

Nice bass, sounded great too.
Another excellent Video! Thank you!!
Thanks Dave!
Oh, and those low-profile tuners are obviously for aerodynamics - increases your top speed.

1/16 ? Do you understand how minuscule that is?
👍

Sweet looking p bass
I was wondering what that hole under the pick guard was. Found the answer in the comments. Figured it was too small to be a stash hole.😁
Dave the slapper! 🎸
I know you don't read these, but why is there an extra hole under the pick guard?
that's the hole that let's the machine make the body..position
@DavesWorldofFunStuff thank you
Why would Dave pop off the pick guard when he has a whole drawer full of wrenches that would fit it ?
they still don't fit and fuk the finish
Sweet P Bass but you left the amp on the buzz was driving me nuts when you was talking
I guess when Fender makes a re-issue, they use the archaic design to be faithful to the vintage stuff.
They should abandon that style of truss rod.
Fender should stop hiring Boeing engineers to design their instruments. Ie: Access to truss rod, Machine heads, ect……. Imagine if the Fender name wast not on the headstock, sales would plummet significantly……
The Fender truss rod like this one is a 70 year old design, and it has always sucked
