I was in Mykonos with 8 girlfriends when I was 25, which would make that 31 years ago. Ugh! I remember how beautiful it was, and the great restaurants and clubs we danced at, and I remember those cobblestone streets and all the shops too. I even met a very cute Greek guy there. Funny thing is, I didn't find out until 15 years later that I was half Greek. But we had the time of our lives and I'm still friends with those women. I'd love to go back there, and go back to being 25 again too. 😊
LV it! Spent an entire summer on Mykonos (May through September) in 1979! But distinctly remember the very specific flair of Mykonos and miss it very much- though it is now mass tourism whereas before a local Greek farmer invited us to their home for a drink!
Yes, the island was "discovered" by tourists starting in the mid 1960's, ran below the radar into the 1980s. The Academy Award nominated film Shirley Valentine in 1989 (August 30 release in the USA), set on the island, really put it on the map. I luckily visited the next Spring and you could tell that the word was out. Within just a few years the island had become a serious tourist destination. (Expanded deep water port, improved airport, numerous beach clubs, traffic, packed streets, reservations recommended) I feel privileged to have gotten there when the place was not as crowded and the beaches not so packed as today. You should have seen Paraga beach back in 1990, at the height of the season, probably about 3 dozen people at most. Today, well let's just say a lot more. (Check out a current picture of the place, with solid beach chairs to the water's edge)
@@NimrodClover My bf and I got invited by a Mykonos peasant to a retsina at his house with his donkey standing in front! Because the old Greek tradition was great hospitality and courtesy to strangers! All this was in 1979! I'm sure things changed a LOT since then. But I always treasure the feeling of Mykonos. Most likely it is still there underneath all the tourism.
Unfortunately you can't turn back the hands of time. Back when you were 25 you should've had as much fun as you could handle. Now it's men your age or older
Thank you for sharing Greece with us. A year and a half ago , just before the pandemic started we were in Greece, managed to see Athens, Santorini and Delphi but had shortened our trip because of covid .We missed out on Mykonos and Crete. We hope to continue that trip soon. You guys rock, great scenery, great beaches, great food. Thank you for sharing it with us.
A funny story. In the 80's when I was working as a flight attendant for DLH two friends and I had our four 'cement days' the same week. We decided to travel to the Greek islands and go island hopping. My roommate and I wore jeans, sneakers and t-shirts, where as our friend arrived at the airport in FRA in high heels and fashionista attire. We had a great time and I might report, that my feet were fine afterwards - our little fashionista had blisters and bunions. You guys are great. Thanks for the memories.
My friend was just there and it looked beautiful. I think 2 days would be enough for me - that's more than enough time to decompress, see some sites, and drink all those 20 Euro cocktails
There are so many other islands in the Aegean with same views, beaches and hotels and everything, less crowded and better prices and wonderful bars without reservations and time schedule I really don't understand the tourists insistence on Mykonos, unless you're a VIP who wants to show off .
Awesome Greek Location Mykonos seems fun, and the thing is, I still have your Iceland Tour my mind I want go there in 2 years.. Greece 🇬🇷 is a Lovely place to be. I like the all white buildings and homes too. You did have the best Location in the Windmill Section. Breakfast and dinner was exquisite. Thanks for visiting my interactive 360VR channel 🙋👍⛰🏞⛰
I rewinded to the gluten free breakfast. When you said breakfast I was thinking no point for me I’ll just get my own and then my jaw dropped! Thanks for showing
This is by far one of the best Mykonos highlights I’ve seen. The scenes were shot beautifully and enough to make anyone pack their bags and head to the island. lt’s also refreshing to see how she’s not all about the butt shots in string bikinis and cake on make up with fake eyelashes like every other female vloggers that goes to Mykonos 😂 . I’ve been to Santorini countless of times coz my Fiancé lives there but we never had the time to visit Mykonos due to his busy work schedule. Would love to see Mykonos on my next visit even with friends. Thank you guys for sharing! Enjoyed it tremendously and your hotel was absolutely gorgeous.
Thanks for a great video. My wife and I will be on Mykonos for 4 nights September 26. (Mykonos Grand) You've given me some great ideas. We'll definitely try the 180 degree bar. Question??, I noticed some drone footage in your video. I am a drone operator and was curious if you were able to fly or was that stock video? Your hotel was close to the airport so I know you were in a No Fly Zone. Were you able to fly at 50 meters? I am bringing my drone as after Mykonos we go to Santorini for 5 more nights. Thanks again for a fun and informative video.
You two are the best thanks for all the info & laughs along the way xx FIN where did you buy your stunning halter top worn to the ‘windmill section’? (I can’t seem to find it in you shop) It’s to die for & you are beautiful inside and out ❤
O God give me my life back after lockdown, a beautiful Vlog guys , you so captured the moment , 🥰 loved it , incidentally now know why I’m Fat and your gorgeous and slim , you chose the lemon 🍋ice sorbet , I would have chosen the Salted caramel with chocolate chip and hot fudge sauce 😋😋😋
$350 per night? That is a bargain. It really is. Did you book the room way in advance when the situation with Covid and the restrictions was rather unclear?
Hi Tim and Fin! Thank you for sharing all your adventures with the world. I Love you guys!! I watch all your travels during my down time working and it just takes me to a place that I can't wait to be in everyday of my life... so inspirational!! I have a question. The Nissaki Boutique Hotel you stayed in Mykonos, are the pools there heated? I can't seem to find that information anywhere on any forum, crazy. Also, how was the bus transfer from that hotel to the town? Easy, busy, packed? It will be my husband's and I's first trip there, and we are looking at this hotel/location. Thanks for your feedback.. Travel on.. 😊😊
Hi ! Hoping you can help me - I’m looking to book 180 sunset bar and I noticed you kept gravitating towards the DJ area with the cushions as opposed to the area with the windmills ? Wondering where is best to book! 😊
Great 👍video. Thanks. We are planning to go there in September for 3 days. Then take ferry to Santorini. Do we need to buy the ferry tickets ahead of time or can we buy them when we are in Mykonos? Thank you!
When quoting $315 per night, can you indicate which travel sites, and or if it was a special promotion at the time? I am currently checking for early June and prices for entry room is between $750 and $950 per night CAD which is still $565 US, $250 more than noted on this video. Keep up the good work but some additional context would help.
That is very weird. Im travelling this august to mykonos and while a lot of hotels are very expensive, we did found some private homes or 4* hotels between 300/400 a night. I had previously been in june and prices where 50% cheaper. We always go through booking app
Guys love your work and thanks for advertising our great country..just need to improve your greek names a bit🙂i know its hard!! Hi from POROS island! come find me ill take you around!!
Hiya. We are going island hopping in june. Just wondering would you be booking ferrys now ahead of time? Or wait a bit? 😆 Im struggling to find an answer online xxx
Paros is nice though windy. Naxos is the least touristy.. Santorini is too touristy. Symi was great to stay as the day trippers from Rhodes left and tourist staying are not many.

hello, go back again now and enjoy it at your current age. it will be different for sure but i think you will enjoy it in a different way.

Mykonos is so beautiful! We were surprised how much we liked it considering it is called a party island, but there is so much more to it.
You two are the best!! It's fantastic how you never take yourselves too seriously. Thanks for another fun video.
I love mykonos. Went there in 2000 and had so much fun!

In general, a magical atmosphere is dangled in Greece. Everything is Divine!
Good choice. Greece is always best choice 👍🏻
Mykonos ..... once you travel there, you’ll definitely fall in love and wish to come back again.
Oh, yes.....restaurants and bars all over the place and they are all so clean!! Gorgeous views. 😍

I miss Greece and Mykonos :) can't wait to watch other Greek episodes :) "Mykonos" and "Mykonos"
Your videos are amazing. They’re so much fun to watch because both of you are such charismatic people. And thank you for the great travel advice 🙌
Wow!! I think this is the first time in my life I’ve had breakfast envy.

I love the surprise "Mykonos" every now and then. 😅 ya'll make some great content, keep it up!
Wait, you're sponsored by Tripped Travel Gear?!?! You're so lucky! What a great company to be sponsored by!!! :)
😂😂 we thought so too until we understood better their outrageous demands 🤨🤨
Hahaha
While swimming in the infinity pool fin gets this "I just thought of something devious" look on her face. It cracked me up.
I absolutely love the way how you guys present the video.... you deserve more subscribers
I was waiting to hear "Tulum". Tim didn't disappoint.
Just came back to say that during our whole visit , each time I heard, read, or overheard the word 'Mykonos' we heard your voice repeat it...hilarious
I stayed at this hotel last year and everything was wonderful! Amazing hotel

Mykonos! Love it! ❤️
Captions would be helpful when mentioning prices, or hotel / restaurant / beach names, it was difficult hearing some details. Enjoy your travels !
that breakfast was ridiculous! :D
Wonderful! You ever contemplate visiting La Paz are in Baja California?
Please can i have a link to the room you stayed at ? I am going next week to mykonos and would love to stay there with my partner
Amazing video, one of the best video on Mykonos
Truly love your videos!!
No she's right! Really mean for the donkeys, mostly because when tourist season is over they are neglected.
Where is your head scarf from Fin? It's so cute!
OH so Beautiful!! So curious if any of these areas were affected by the fires??
Mykonos was not. A lot of the fires are on the mainland but there were some islands too that have recently been evacuated.
@@timandfin very sad!! about the fires :( I am glad you were able to show us the best of Greek Isles... Very enjoyable!

Hey guys, what was the name of the hotel you booked in Mykonos?
loved the bloopers at the end 👏🏼🤣

Which sunglasses is Tim wearing in the pool?
Great 👍video. Thanks. We are planning to go there in September for 3 days. Then take ferry to Santorini. Do we need to buy the ferry tickets ahead of time or can we buy them when we are in Mykonos? Thank you!
Am I missing it ? Or do you have a list of the names of places you went ?
random question, what time of year did you travel? thinking about going in october, what’re your thoughts weather wise?
Well-made and fun.
Enjoyed the leg pulling !
I may land in Mykonos 4am in the morning, is it enough just staying just 2 nights, planning staying 2 days in Naxos and 3 in Santorini?2
thank you for the video.
I’m planning my honey moon, what room did you get? And thanks for the video
Do u have to book everything in advance ? The beach clubs are so expensive just for a seat
Those drink prices. God damn!!!!

Either is fine but earlier just guarantees the time you want
How far was your hotel from the main town and little venice?
How do I catch the bus from the airport to Mykanos Town and then MT (Mykanos Town) to Ornos?
Can you create playlists and sort your videos on youtube
I am Greek travel vloger. I appreciate your effort but the presentation about Mykonos, not so good. Maybe because of the limitation of time.
Do you recommend this hotel?
Can I ask what time of year you went?
Be bear aware.
Aloha Tim and Fini! Ijko00)
When I look up this hotel it's over $500 a night. How did you get it for $128 a night?
Paros is nice though windy. Naxos is the least touristy.. Santorini is too touristy. Symi was great to stay as the day trippers from Rhodes left and tourist staying are not many.
