  • Was Jesus just a prophet, or was He God incarnate?
In the name of the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit one God Amen
Have you ever heard anyone accuse Christians of exaggerating the message of Jesus? Saying that Jesus never said he was God or asked people to worship Him? And in fact, that he only ever claimed to be a propjet? Well was Jesus just a prophet, like all those who came before Him, or was He the Divine Son of God? Stick around and see for yourself how to best answer these false accusations.

Hello! I have a question. I dont know if this is the best place to ask, but here goes. What is the oriental orthodox attitude towards praying with the heterodox, seeing as how they never accepted the quinisext council and so on? All the best:).

We don't have a problem with it usually but the EO monks refuse to pray with those outside of their denomination

We pray with all in love but we pray liturgically at the same altar with those in communion

Jesus changed Paul. Repentance is to change and Paul changed on the road to Damascus when Jesus gave him consciousness in asking why are you persecuting Me. From there Jesus got Paul to do what Jesus began in going outside the Jewish faith to the Gentiles and only God can reveal Himself in such a way to the world. God knows everything and the Jews would not accept the Greek way of thinking or even the way of thinking of other countries that God had spread them.
Truth is reality and the reality is that the human race matures and the most mature thing to do is to forgive. It is God mercy that helps us mature and understand ourselves in Jesus saying love your enemies.
We know we have the relationship with God when He guides our life and makes all the connections along the way just like He did with Paul. We have a living proof that fulfils ourselves in Him and we are conscious of it unlike those of the world whom live the repetition of a subconscious life that does not have Christ as it’s focus. What we focus on is where we put our energy and our focus is on the living gospel that we have Jesus Christ as the centre of our life’s.

You say "priest, prophet, and king" are what ALL OF humanity are called to be? Can you explain further? It makes me think of the Protestant idea of "priesthood of the believer", do you believe such a thing? Your channel provides the greatest explanations, more than Catholic school ever did ☺

There are two different questions here… I’ll address the second one and let me know if you still need an answer for the first. There are two types of priesthood the literal one which requires ordination and the spiritual one which is given to all Christians on their baptism day as they receive the Holy Spirit. These are not contradictory to each other and they were both there in the both the Old and New Testaments.

One I get a lot from Unitarians is how Jesus said
“No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”
and how this verse seems to suggest the Son is ignorant of something and implicitly the Spirit also, by saying only the Father. And even if the verse meant the Son in his human nature didn’t know (which even some saints themselves were of this opinion), it still doesn’t address the Spirit. That’s why I tend to be of the opinion it was a metaphor because Revelation 19:12 says of the Son
“He has a name written on Him that only He Himself knows.”
Does that mean the Father nor the Spirit knew? I don’t think even Unitarians would say the Father was ignorant, so “know” was in the declarative sense from my convictions.

Is Jesus just a prophet? I wonder who has been going around saying that. Reminds me of a guy from the seventh century

Read Matthew 16:13-16 and you will see the question of Jesus’ identity was from even during his ministry
