*We liked it **Fastly.Cool** so much in the basement, we bought a second one for the main level. The amount of moisture it pulls out of the air is astonishing.*

You're criticizing smaller units for low CFM which doesn't seem fair, you keep referring to better units but you give no names or price$, Consumers want the best bang for the buck, they don't want a high priced, uncommon and obscure brand that you won't be able to find filters or parts for a few years down the line.

I am very happy with my Honeywell insight. I have noticed a tremendous difference in air quality and Pet dander. And I have read all kinds of other great reviews on Honeywell.

Great video. I like how you don't only offer a review, but only suggestions in replacement. But honestly, the Honeywell units are really the only thing I can find for a reasonable price in Canada so I decided to go with the HPA200. I think you are pretty accurate with the comment, "Honeywell's biggest advantages is it's availability". LEVOIT is generally the only other alternative, and they seem to have even worse reviews. You can get the Winix 5500, but it's about 200$ more then the honey-well at 390$.

The million dollar question. Ionizer enabled on this unit or not ? I don't want an Ionizer.

The 50250-S uses one, large filter, not three. The carbon filter material wraps around the HEPA filter easily, and is held in place with two velcro strips. Not exactly rocket science to replace. You can get a replacement, aftermarket HEPA filter with a pre-filter included for roughly 62 dollars before tax. Both filters can be vacuumed. The HEPA filter can usually be made to last about a year, although it's common to see a six month recommended replacement interval.

I feel Consumer Analysis is biased and am starting to loose respect for them. They never show any actual metrics or data, and just give their opinion or repeats whatever is on the specs sheet it seems. Many other review sources have ranked Honeywell units pretty highly which disagrees with this review. Something suspicious is definitely happening here.

They need to have a heat option since it’s not supposed to have a fan yet it blows out the existing temperatures in your home which makes it cold:( If it was a warm day it would feel nice. I have a honeywell hpa300. I personally think it sucks you have to buy 3 filters, but I like that I can vacuum the carbon filter.. supposedly we can wash it but on the wrap it came in says “do not get water on it” so which is it?? I will be going out to buy a heat option Dyson just to compare..

  • @Oblivionsurveyor

The classic 50260-s is a superior design imo, better filters when compared to modern filters. I noticed these other filters achieve more cfm by having filters with less air resistance, what does less air resistance mean? LESS filtration of course.
Glad i am not one of those people that see it moving mega amounts of air and not a single thought into thinking its because the filter is not filtering well lol.

Please add comparison charts to your reviews that highlight and give evidence to your statements. Strong statements such as “we don’t recommend Honeywell” would be solidified if you provided actual side by side numbers of other products in relation to these units. Otherwise, your review comes off as superficial and recommendations are empty.
I’m looking for numbers such as wattage per price ratio, filtration efficiency per watt of power used, cost per filter per unit over time, cfm at price point chart, cfm per watt, etc…
People who are watching this video for the first time may not watch any of your other videos so it’s better to be as informative on the first pass as possible.
Still, I appreciate your video and thanks for your opinion.

What about Honeywell 710we premium air purifier?

    • @consumer-analysis
      @consumer-analysis  4 роки тому +1

Unfortunately, the 710WE is not readily available in the United States for me to test it. Looking at its specifications, it has a clean air delivery rate of 187 m3/hour which translates to only 110 CFM - less than half that of the top rated models I recommend.

I learned something from you on what to look for in a purifier and thankful, but your continuous criticism with honeywell has made me research on this brand with curiousity. I’ve seen reviews ftom actual users who have serious respiratory issues and gave good reviews on honeywell. I think I would rather consider the Honeywell brand since you sound so bias on it. Seems like it is the top competitor of your favorite brand.

I thought his review was pretty good. Mostly he focused on energy efficiency cfm/watt consumed. Although I think this may have more to do with the quality of the motor used in the Honeywell and its MTBF when compared to other junk motors that will see them squealing and eventually leading to outright failure (all while being energy efficient).
