THANK YOU Philippa for such a lovely and honest review. I have to pinch myself sometimes as I can’t believe I’ve written three books! Looking forward to seeing what you try first. ❤
Thanks for three amazing books! I think the snow leopard 🐆, the markings are just amazing, so many expert techniques in your books, thank you for sharing xx
I have both her other books my favourite by is the fox. Her special coating formula is an absolute. Thank you for the review I'll be adding this one to my collection
I now have all three books. Cindy Lou Thompson is an amazing needle felter and her books are so detailed. I love them. I've made the hare and fox from her second book and started on the badger. I also bought and made her White Tiger she designed in kit form which I bought from World of Wool. I haven't had a lot of time to read through this last book yet, but looking through the photos I love the snow leopard and painted dog. My to do list gets increasingly longer!
I enjoyed your review very much, thank you. I'm still in the "do I like felting enough to work at getting better at it?" phase, having just completed my first simple sheep. I was so pleased when it held together, didn't fall apart, and my husband identified it immediately! (I had some doubts midway through. lol) Your scuptures and those in the author's books are still dream material for me, but that's where it all starts. :)
I have all three. This new book is very much sculpting. Love the use of pan pastels and fiber pends. I have small hair straighteners to help with ears. We already have experience in needle felting and techniques. Its amazing. Thank you for reviewing it.
Looks really good. I have the other two books they’re great so many tips and tricks. Will have this one on my Christmas list. Thank you for the review very interesting 😊
Great review Pippa, such gorgeous sculptures. This is on my Christmas list as I’d particularly like to have the tips on the horses hooves. I’m going through my horse stage at the moment although my wife is badgering me to do a highland cow 🤪🥰
Personally, my medium and large needles are all star now. It's really just preference. For courses I bring 36+38 triangulars. (and the 42 Spiral for the finishing touches, that I also use in private all the time.) I think those are universal and great for everyone. I really should get at least one of the books... but - please don't hate me - none of them has projects I am really interested in making. To be honest, I should just get past that. Because Cindy Lou-Thompson is a master of felting and I am sure there is so much to learn even if I never use what I learn to make one of those specific projects in the books. (I just checked, both previous books have been in my "Felting" list on amazon since February of 2022) I'm just not the person for hyper realistic felts. Or maybe that's just because I'm scared I won't be able to do them justice... Who knows. I just like to cute-ify everything and give it more of a personal touch. Anyway, thank you for the honest review. Hope your end of year sales are going great!
Hi Phillipa, lovely honest review thank you. I have her other two books and have learned so much from them. Don't know what it is though but I'm just no good at doing dogs. I seem to over think, over faff and mess them up, it's weird
Thanks for this video, I had forgotten that this was coming out after you mentioned it in a previous video. I do love these books, one day I will try and make something. Is this the same person that makes the WoW kits? ❤
