This song comes on my playlist often times when I am doing something seemingly simple. I might be in my garage working on a lawn mower with my young kids riding bikes near me in my driveway. I might be driving my family home from a day trip or vacation. I look at my beautiful family and it fills my heart that they are mine. I asked my 6 y/o son if he likes this song when we were working on RC cars together in our garage and he said "Yes." I asked him why he liked it, thinking that he would remark about the singers voice, the guitar or something obvious in the song. He said, "It reminds me of you". I almost balled up and was so proud of him for his ability to emotionally connect and communicate that to me. I'm blessed to be their father and enjoy every minute knowing it will all fade away.

I think what he is conveying or describing is Mother Earth. Because we (humans) are connected to nature, and Earth, thats why he says "You and I are one together". The night before my fiance passed away from an overdose from supposedly legal pain medicine we listened to this song 20 times in a row. It brings tears to my eyes 6 years later and is so powerful. It is amazing how intense a song can be with a situation like that even after all these years.

I just saw them in Missoula Montana this summer (2016) and I agree with you. I have seen a lot of concerts and these guys brought the A game. I will gladly go see them again. Incredible show. I don't think I can pick on of their songs as a favorite. Heart Like a Lion is tough to beat for me.
