Forgot to mention it in this guide, but there is a calculator that can be used to determine what resource type is most profitable from this activity at the current date and time. I've left a link to this calculator in the description of this video.
these other guides spend like 5 minutes talking about how to get there and how to unlock fairy rings, and never even mention how to use the interactive map. This is the best guide, thank you
No problem! Lucky thing about being an iron is that you only need to worry about what resources you NEED compared to what makes the most profit. Best of luck on your iron, though!
If you stop playing for an extended amount of time, your subjects will still collect resources for you, provided you have the coins necessary deposited into your coffer. Although, your rating with your kingdom will lower by 1% daily along with 10% of the coins in your coffer (to a maximum of 75k) and the amount of resources collected will be affected by this as well. Interestingly enough, even if you don't have an active membership, your kingdom will still operate as normal until you run out of coins or your rating is lowered to an amount that would provide no resources. From the explanation given in your comment, it sounds like you potentially didn't have a high enough approval rating or enough coins in your coffer before taking your break, but I couldn't be 100% sure without knowing the exact details. Hope this helped and good luck!
It's really just based on how many coins you want to dump into it. Only thing limiting the amount of time you'll get resources is strictly the coins. That being said, you'll still need to check on and increase your approval rating for maximum output. :)
With the farming options, you can choose between flax or herbs. With either option, you can occasionally also obtain various herb seeds alongside the herbs or flax. Hope this helps!
@@moreno522 Ahhh, that's completely my fault. I misunderstood what you were asking. The farming option will only yield seeds as the output. It provides a variety of seeds including, herb seeds, tree seeds, hop seeds, etc. That being said, it's a slight gamble as to what type of seeds you'll get. I'd suggest this option if you're playing as an ironman and don't have an easier way of obtaining seeds, as you can occasionally receive useful seeds like Ranarr seeds (2 per day on average with maximum resources/favor/output, according to the osrs wiki).
@@BarrysBasics ah alright i see, thank you. Yeah I'm playing ironman so I was wondering if that was a legitimate way to get seeds because it's kind of a struggle tbh
@@moreno522 It's definitely a struggle, especially early on. If you're struggling with herb seeds, I'd highly suggest just roughing it out and leveling up Thieving for Master Farmers and also leveling Farming for increased chances of getting high tier seeds from them.
@anyone; looking at calculators it says mahogany logs is the most profit followed by herbs. Should I dump every point into mahogany logs and the left over points into herbs for the most profit? Does it work that way?
My apologies for the late response. I haven't played OSRS in ages, but to answer your question: basically, yes. If you are using this portion of the game for profit compared to resource gain (for ironman mode etc.), you would prioritize whatever gives maximum profit based on the current projected item prices and then use the remainder on the second highest.
I don’t get it though like how is this profitable if your putting in 750k in? It’s going to take forever to make a profit and doesn’t the money on the coffin decreases as well? How much is this worth doing really?
Hopefully this helps, but it only passively takes coins from the coffer in increments of 10% of the amount of coins in the coffer to a limit of 75k/day. In return, you get a portion of resources increasing in amount based on how many coins you have in the coffer. So, depending on the economy, it's effectively a passive way of making money. That being said, it's most commonly a tool used by ironmen/women to gain resources that are typically more difficult to obtain.

What happens when you stop playing rs for long periods? I came back to my approval rating to 0. Nothing was collected and my coffers were empty

So what exactly do u gain if u let them farm for u? Do u gain farming products or will u obtain seeds for farming?

@@BarrysBasics isn't that the herbs option? The option bottom right on the minimap thing is a separate option that u can send workers to, no?
