Kyle Reese was born in 2002. With 27 years old (2029), he went back to the past (1984), impregnated Sarah and died. When John Connor is 17 years old, his father Kyle will be born... and he must ensure, without fail, to return him to the past, selling an image of Sarah that will make him fall in love with her, to ensure his conception.
A sad fact, is when Kyle said Sarah, that he always wondered what was she thinking at that moment in the picture. And she was thinking in Kyle during that tape record.
Ash does look better, but the Terminator was a low budget movie. The animatronic head and poor blue screen work where they shut the door on the terminator in the factory are products of the low budget.
@@mrglasses8953 Wait. What? The Ash head looks NOTHING like the actor, Ian Holm. He looks like Laurel in Laurel and Hardy. How the f*** does that animatronic head in Alien look better than Arnold's head in The Terminator??
To me, The Terminator is the greatest low-budget sci-fi monster movie or in other words B-movie ever made, which makes you wonder... how can it be a B-movie??
One fun film-watching challenge is that 3 actors in "The Terminator" 1984 appear in "Aliens" 1986, both directed by James Cameron. Two are fairly easy to spot but the third is very difficult because it is a cameo!!
1. Linda Hamilton ROCKED. She's really built in T2. "Terminator 2 Judgment Day" is the action movie GOAT.🤩 2. Lance Henriksen/Vukovich, Michael Biehn/Reese and Bill Paxton/punk also played in "Aliens" as Bishop, Hicks and Hudson respectively. 3.We have limited AI now. So does China.😱😱 4. Movie magic, Reese gets into a department store at night.🙄 5. More movie magic, If this wasn't a movie the ammunition would not have been available on the gun shop counter. 6. Ginger's boyfriend Matt must be a lousy lay if she needs rock and roll to "rock and roll". 7. Watching people react to the eye operation is worth watching this all by itself. 8. THAT'S a bitch slap.😏
In 2029, we should either gather to celebrate the fact we have not been wiped out by Skynet ... or use the methods taught to us by John Conner to finally defeat the cyborgs.
At the beginning, with the guys around at the viewpoint, the blue haired is Bill Paxton, a very well known actor who appeared in Titanic, Aliens or Twister, among others.
Man, the ending to this is so much creepier than T2. Don’t get me wrong, T2 is an amazing movie and pretty much the perfect sequel. But in this one, seeing the actual machine relentlessly chasing Sarah is so well done. Catches on fire, but his steel frame and CPU chip are fine and he keeps coming. Then gets blown in half but his CPU is still not destroyed so he keeps coming. It’s just so well done.
@@TnDMultiverse yes! It’s so much more realistic. The machine gets blown in half and still keeps coming. When Reese says that it will never sleep or stop until she’s dead, we really get to see that instead of him just telling us.
The dude who did the music for this also did the music for the original 1985 Fright Night, about a year later! I recommend Fright Night to everyone, it is a lot of fun to watch. It can be scary, but is also very funny at times... it's just incredibly entertaining. It would make a great reaction video!!!!
My favorite bit is when he's in the apartment as the landlord asks about the odor coming from the room. The Terminator cycles through possible responses and comes up with "Fuck you, asshole", which is a nod to the scene where the T-800 (the exact model of The Terminator, also referred to in the movie by Reese as Cyberdyne Systems model 101) first arrived and encountered/slaughtered that gang of thugs led by Bill Paxton.
What?? You thought the incredible Hulk was gonna beat The Terminator in your poll! Are you kidding me?? You realize the incredible Hulk is a CGI character right? Terminator has an actual human actor playing the Terminator who happens to be one of the best actors in the world! There is no comparison! 🙂
I thought Hulk was going to win but not because of the movie being better 😉 People have been asking me to watch the MCU for a long time and I have been willing to watch it. But for months and months I only got to see Iron Man and that’s about it, people don’t vote for Hulk, which is the second movie on release date. So I am stuck and I can’t watch any more MCU. That’s why I thought this time it could win but again, it didn’t 😂 But I am so glad we got to watch this masterpiece 😍
Yeah, cars were a lot softer back then. You could start them by splicing a couple wites and unlock them with a wire clothes hanger. I became an expert as my mom had a bad habit of locking her keys in the car. The effects may have been "the 80's" but still pretty good considering there was nothing approaching the CGI of even the mid-90's available then.
Original Cameron's movies are T1 and T2. Story was finished. All next movies are moneymaking pieces of sh.. build on success of first two. And each next part was worse and worse. Only T4: Salvation brings new setting to franchise. It was all about future war, almost without original copypaste.
I still think it was finished after the first. Especially if you listen carefully to what Kyle tells the Police. Too many unexplained things/mistakes in the second that relegates it to second best, a far cry off this masterpiece.
Agree with you about Salvation. The future war setting was the best place to go with any other movies. The TV series "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" is the only worthy sequel that continues the story beyond the events of T2.
The one continuity error I can never unsee when watching this.... In the phone book the 3 street addresses are 1823, 2816 and 309...the house address of the first Sarah Connor is 14239

@@TnDMultiverse Just to clarify a little bit, because it's easily overlooked: The opening states that by 2029 the war between humans and machines had been going on for decades. Keep in mind that Terminator was made in 1984 when the Cold War was still ongoing and threat of nuclear war was high up in people's minds. I agree entirely about the music. I'll just put on my music major hat on for a tick. The real genius about this soundtrack is about time. Understand that most Western music divides time into beats per measure, typically 2, 3, or 4 beats, which is most consonant with human psychology. Threee beats to a measure defines a waltz, for example. There is also a neurological theory these days that the human brain finds time division of a non-trivial prime number per measure inherently disturbing. So if you carefully count the beats in the "chase" music here you will find that the metrical division used here is thirteen fast beats per measure.
