I kinda agree - I LOVE his rock voice, but the country is absolutely incredible!
this is on the radio all the time, mind you I'm Canadian, and he is a Canadian musician, and the american stations probably don't play a lot of Canadian stuff
I think he honestly sounds better in country music than rock!

I'm glad he found a home in music somewhere after Default went on a hiatus, I love them back in the early 2000's. His voice fits in well in country.

Unfortunately, I agree. This man's voice is amazing, but it is much more distinguished and unique in the Default songs. Live a Lie, Deny, Way We Were, Taking My Life Away, and a load of other songs - his voice is incredible. It's almost difficult to tell this is him singing, not just another country guy.

he lives about half an hour down the road from me , if you would like to hear him and alot of other great Canadian singers you can find a radio station called JRfm from Vancouver bc on the inter web.

Great rock song. I hate to say that because this is really good but it is one thing to have country/rock and it is entirely different to take these songs that have absolutely no country sound at all and call them country. That is the very reason I stopped listening to country radio here in the states. If I want to hear rock I will go to rock stations to hear it but when I am on country radio I expect to hear music that at least can be categorized fairly as country music. It's teenagers faults.

@AkiraOtori I still like them both, but I think this is better in some ways than Default. I like the more relaxing music sometimes. I'm a southerner......I'm expected to lean on different types of music to fit my mood. lol

Curious...What genre is this then, in your opinion? It is played on all the country stations out here, and his twang definately gives ME the feeling of country but I am always interested on how people hear and interpret music differently... And whatever the genre, this song is great. :)

@crimsontears91302 That "twanging noise" is the defining sound of country. I don't think you should let it distract you from the superb lyrical content and vocal quality of this song. I honestly haven't heard much of Default's stuff, and what I have heard, I'm not too fond of. Country is the only music for me. It's honest, it's literal, and it can rock as hard as any other genre. Less ego attached too.
Please don't leave Default.
