Cheow Lan Lake (เชี่ยวหลาน) - Located within Khao Sok National Park, Cheow Lan Lake (เชี่ยวหลาน) is a lesser visited gem of beauty in Southern Thailand. While there are a number of floating hotels within the lake, we just took a boat ride day trip, had lunch, a quick swim, and headed back to shore. #AmazingThailand #SuratThani
You can arrange a full package tour of Cheow Lan Lake (เชี่ยวหลาน) from any of the surrounding hotels or lodges - and to be honest I think it might be worth it with less hassle. But alternatively, you can just show up at the pier like I did. To take a boat you’ll need to get to Ratchaprapha Marina (ท่าเรือเทศบาล เขื่อนเชี่ยวหลาน). For our private boat it cost 2,500 THB ($80) and additionally there’s a Thai national park entrance fee of 320 THB ($10.24).
Cheow Lan Lake (เชี่ยวหลาน) is incredibly beautiful, stunning water and mountain formations. I would highly recommend visiting when you are at Khao Sok National Park in Surat Thani, Thailand.
NOTE: You take the boat from Ratchaprapha Marina (ท่าเรือเทศบาล เขื่อนเชี่ยวหลาน goo.gl/maps/mccMRUEyAEU122D76) which is about an hour drive from Khao Sok National Park (even though it’s part of Khao Sok National Park).

FYI - If you guys want to come to any of those floating hotel really DO book it with the hotel. The price might seem expensive but please remember that your meals, Boat ferry, and transportation (shuttle van) from the nearest airport is included! Also there are no access to Internet or even phone signal in there so let people know and bring a book!

Khao Sok National Park is a wonderful place. When I visited two years ago it was very crowded, but still a great experience. The lunch spot had many dozens of boats coming and going during my visit. Mark & family are fortunate to visit Khao Sok during the International tourist closure period. To anyone in Thailand, please visit these unique places both for your own enjoyment but also to support the people who depend on tourists who are no longer able to come to this beautiful country.

Absolutely breathtaking
A great excursion for a day trip very scenic place to visit. Boat ride was fun. Your swim looked great even with your life jacket on. I guess as there are no life guards on watch it was safety first. The food was limited understandable considering isolation but all good your meal was delicious & nutritious fresh & tasty. Such a beautiful place to go stay a night or two 👍

It is a stunning place to visit, lying in an ancient rainforest, and is the location of some of the most unique accommodations in Khao Sok including floating hotels. Beautiful indeed.

My wife and I were here in 2004. Our first trip to Thailand. Our first trip anywhere outside the US. We took the boat to the far North shore and from here, took a limestone cave tour. 15 minutes in, we Ran smack into a king cobra in calve-deep water that rose 5 feet straight up with a hood like a salad plate. Our guide was even more terrified than we were and we were scared shitless. Thailand!!

I am surprised at the water color for a man made reservoir, usually brown from all the soil and organics. The limestone must be transforming the whole water chemistry. Really beautiful.

I live not so far from this lake, actually close to Plai Ton beach in Sichon, (which you visited a few years ago) We like to visit this beautiful lake often. We used to pay 1200 baht for a boat, last 2 years we paid 1500 baht, talk with the local boat owners waiting for tourists on the pier, they are much cheaper than booking in the main building! But your video was amazing (as always)
Were villages and forests flooded to create this lake/dam, there were many dead tree skeletons showing above the water there?
