I like to drive the speed limit sometimes and just cruise around. I happened to be recording when this happened.
The game is programmed to have the police chase you if you're going 65 mph or over and that it doesn't matter what the posted speed limit is, you can do 64 mph or less anywhere and be fine. For example, you can do 64 in a 35 and not get chased. So even though the speed limit is posted at 65 mph on the road that I'm on, the police will chase me for doing 65 mph. It's not a glitch, it's just how the game engine works.
In real life speed limits are based on when the road is in the best condition. (Daytime, no glare and no bad weather.) This is night time so it isn't the best conditions and the officer thought I was going too fast. But arresting me for doing 65 mph in a 65 mph speed limit zone even if it is night? Come on!
Of course in the game you do have one police chase that you must evade before the game releases you to free roam. So I guess I do have a warrant out for my arrest. However, in real life you wouldn't be pulled over for doing the posted speed limit unless the road conditions are terrible.

Maybe its too fast. In NFS MW is the speed Limit on Highways 60. And with heat 0 the game don't know you are wanted

Here's how the pursuit law of physics works so basically there's a certain speed limit where the cop will trigger the pursuit if you reach over to at least a maximum limit of 65 mph then the pursuit will immediately start if you go any lower then the cop will not see you whatsoever usually sometimes also depending on your area because there are some triggers where you may have to go to a much lower speed but usually on the highway it's up to 65 anything lower could be something else if you are also hitting objects that will trigger it to so please make sure to not get in the pursuit over 65 miles an hour that's just how the game was made

Remember that chase you had to do in the beggining of carbon. Most likely you have a warrent on you're head from that chase.

This game is so unrealistic, the most you'd get for speeding if you pulled over would be a ticket and a point on your licence, they wouldn't just drag you out of the car, smash your face on the hood then arrest you, they're not allowed to unless they have a warrant.
Even a warrant doesn't make it so they should smash your face on the hood. But hey, it's Need for Speed. You can smash through all the police roadblocks and get absolutely no damage affecting your car. Basically, the game assumes that you were running from them and causing a lot of damage to the city and police cars. In addition, the game intro forces you to escape a pursuit, so they might have a warrant out for your arrest.

Actually they don't have a warrant, they did in Rockport but not in Palmont. At the beginning it's cross chasing you but he isn't a cop anymore, he's a bounty hunter.
brainjuice654 This is true, they may not have a warrant out in Palmont, but they actually might. You do get up to the Federal level of police in Most Wanted. FBI Most Wanted anyone? The warrant I was referring to though, was that they could've placed an APB out on your starter car for that pursuit at the beginning of the game. (Even though at low Heat levels they don't recognize your car at all.)

It's at heat 1. The police don't automatically chase you when they see you until heat 3 or 4. I want to say it's 4, but I can't remember exactly.

Speed limit here is 65. Also check the description. There is a 70 or a 75 zone later and you will get pulled over anywhere for doing 65+. 64 or below is okay. Even in a 35.

Why don't the player just get Ticketed?
Just the way the game is made. See the description for more info. Some older NFS games actually will give you a warning or ticket if you pull over right away. NFS Hot Pursuit 2 is funny in that you only get arrested the 3rd time the police stop you, no matter how much you have been running from them.
It's just a game.

I found out that you can in Driver for PS1 and The Getaway for PS2. (I've never played either though and I think The Getaway's blinkers only act as direction-indicators for where you're supposed to go next. However, I have heard that you can manually use them.) Also, some people make mods for PC games so that you can.

I have, and they don't. If you're speeding they chase you and if you pull over immediately they give you a warning for the first time.

Right, I wasn't asking if someone finds a Need for Speed game in which one could use blinkers to let me know, I was asking if someone finds a free roam driving game where you can use blinkers to let me know. So far I've only found Driver for PS1 and The Getaway for PS2. (However, that was automatic signals that guided you on your route.) Driver sounds good for someone wanting blinkers, however I was hoping for a game that's more recent.

Yeah, I know. Well actually if the road conditions are terrible then you could get pulled over. The posted speed limit is only when the road conditions are good. Sometimes you have to slow down. You're right, it would never be like in this video in real life.

Nope, the speedometer never says 66 at any point. The game is just programmed to chase at 65 or higher. You can do 64 in a 35 and get away with it. Later down the highway I was on, the speed limit becomes 75, but if you're doing 65 or higher they'll still chase.
While the real reason I was pulled over was due to how the game has a universal speed limit of 64 mph, (as I mentioned in the post you replied to) it is an illegal traffic stop if I am not doing anything illegal, unless they have reasonable suspicion that I am. In this case, the player might have a warrant out for their arrest and the Palmont Police could have a description of the vehicle because of the chase that you must escape from the police at the beginning of the game. However, with the game mechanics the police don't chase on sight of recognition of your car until (I think) Heat Level 4.
Yeah... that comment only applies to videos with poor quality, such as a video filmed with a crappy cell phone camera. This was filmed with a capture card.

I guess. I've always preferred the term "turn signals". However, "blinker" is just one of the slang words that people have come up with over the years.

Unfortunately, you can't use blinkers in this game. I wish you could. Or most racing games like this. If you find one that you can use blinkers in, please let me know. I've seen games in which the AI can use blinkers, but I have yet to find a game where you can use blinkers.
that sounds better than blinkers. Blinkers should only be used for flashing lights for looks in my opinion.

False. If you are arrested for speeding it is at 25 mph or 30 mph or higher over the speed depending on the state. This is labeled as criminal speeding. However, even if you speed by that much or more you still may not be arrested. I wasn't even speeding in this though.
@CobobS1 Actually the programming says that the speed limit is 64 mph. I've drove by a cop at 64 mph and not been chased but the second you hit 65 mph the lights come on. Either way, if you read the description I did put a note about that.

Two reasons: 1. I wasn't doing anything wrong. 2. If I ran, we wouldn't have this funny video.
The game doesn't take it into account, but the BMW GTR is not a street legal car. The cops also chase if you are at Heat 4 or 5 on sight simply because they recognize you as wanted.
Yeah, the police radio will describe almost every car you can drive in the game with color and make of the car. Sometimes model also. That is only decoded by what car you are driving and has nothing to do with your Heat Level though. As far as being chased again on sight, the cops only do that when you have a 4+ Heat Level. If you are 3 or lower they won't chase on sight, even if you they were just chasing you a moment ago but you just finished cooldown. (In cooldown though they will chase again on sight, as you haven't "escaped" yet.)
