    As requested, I paused to respond:
    Audio quality is excellent, so far; crisp & clear with no background noise or other distortions. So, I appreciate your extra effort. Pausing to like, then back to the video.
    PS
    Your ideas of mix and match pieces for the capsule wardrobe look like wonderful choices. I'm interested to see what you pick next ( I think, tho, I am commenting a long time after you posted this. Infact, it looks like a year.)
    And, since you requested feedback, I think the vest looks really cute! I bet the armhole adjustment will make it a bit more comfy.

    Thank you sooo much for this tutorial! I am in the middle of sewing a lined vest Butterick Pattern number 6843 and sadly, it seems there is a huge gap missing in the directions on how to sew the front to the back at the side seams. Love this! So cute!
    About the drag, verify that your back neckline isn't too small, because that will push out at the front as it tries to make up the space (I hope that makes sense?); I have had that issue before and it may also help with the extra shoulder width. It helped for me: I widened the back neckline, matched the original front neckline and trued the shoulders.

    • @rd6203
      @rd6203 3 роки тому +1

      I wasn't going to say anything because you didn't ask, but I decided that you could choose to ignore me if you want to 😁

    • @gwenheng
      @gwenheng  3 роки тому +4

      Hehe thank you for the suggestion! I have looked into it and I think it could be my sloping shoulders! I pinned the ends of the shoulders (the end next to the armholes) and there was no dragline. That said, I really oughta make a new sloper. This sloper I have is almost a year old. I'll check my back neckline when I do that too!!

      Hi Ola! Thank you for watching!
      I haven't made a men's vest before but for a free option, I suggest searching for one online. I found this one but it's only one size: www.ralphpink.com/tommy-waistcoat-sewing-pattern/
      For paid option, I found this Simplicity pattern: simplicity.com/simplicity/s1506
      Etsy has tons of PDF sewing patterns too!
      Like I said, I haven't used any of these patterns so I can't vouch for their fit etc. But I hope this is helpful in getting you started. Good luck with your search and keep us updated!! xx G

    The slop of your shoulder seam is off, resulting in the bunching at the shoulder. Raising the shoulder at the neckline, then redrawing the shoulder seam to the existing point where it meets the armscye ought to do the trick.

    I'm knitting some boy's British style vests and sewing a woman's 1980s vest pattern. I am looking at the different fabrics people are using to get ideas. I started out just wanting something for warmth around the house but now am looking at some design ideas. Thanks for your videos.
    I might go more a hippy look than business like. Why look business like when I have no business skills or talents? And no stewardess look of wanting to make the customer happy. Not my style. Military as in a Scots marching band - hmm, maybe. Give me the drums, please. I do have a family tartan, actually.
