I agree, I was at a local Marshall's, I smelled a Jasmine Petals & Cedarwood eau de parfum, and was just blown away. The Cedarwood gave the Jasmine a chocolatey texture to it, and still kept the freshness of the Jasmine. So it is so wearable even in the summer heat of Texas. And I can totally picture wearing this in the colder days.
I am generally not into florals on myself, even Rose, but now I can say I love Jasmine. So as you all said, if you're comfortable with a fragrance, wear it confidently and you'll be fine.

This was a really refreshing discussion to hear! Just picked up a sample of the Dior Homme Intense, and really loving the notes of it. I'm not very knowledgeable about perfumes, and I doubted if I could wear this as a female. So I definitely appreciate the simple statement of 'if you like the smell, wear it'. And that iris is relatively unisex!

Real men (and women) wear Dior Homme. It’s one of my all-time favorites-the closest I have to a signature scent. It’s a masterpiece of contrasts-simultaneously masculine/feminine, fresh/woody, savory/sweet, light/dark.

I just got Givenchy Gentlemen EDP not too long ago, and now comparing it to Dior Homme, wow.. both amazing fragrances. If you love Iris, get both and cycle between the two. As Ashley even stated, the Iris is surrounded by different notes to make it different enough to warrant purchasing and wearing both.

I'm a lady and I recently smelled Dior Homme and I absolutely loved it. I know I will buy it and even though I know this was targeted for men, I'd feel comfortable wearing this.
Been watching reviews on Dior Homme, heard recently on your channel that they are planning on discontinuing the whole line and reformulating them. I hope they don't do that, but just in case went out and bought the original Dior Homme and DHI. Already have Dior Homme Eau Homme so I'm already comfortable with the iris scent. Thanks for the content, have learned a great deal from your channel.
For me, Dior intense is just right. Haven't smelled Dior parfym though so I can't say if I'd like it better..

Great video with a very knowledgeable young lady. I have colgne and eau which i like very much and have tested sport and quite enjoyed it as well. Not crazy about the original but think i may enjoy parfum if its as deep and rich as ive heard. Take care.
You should definitely make a video with Ashley about vintage scents like Kouros, Antaeus or Egoiste. That would be really interesting! Especially if you have older formulas of those

The DH Line is my favorite line of mens fragrances, but I admit that I didn't like all of them at the first sniff, it took me some time to appreciate the iris note.
What a fantastic line.. incredible. They are like the greatest trilogy of perfumes ever.. the godfather of trilogies for fragrances. I’m DHI lover, but all are fantastic.
I am intrigued to hear Ashley's personal top twenty fragrances.
Great video! Not a fan of the lipsticky vibe of the Dior Homme line but I have smelt other unisex or even masculine scents that are more feminine. Totally fine for a guy to wear them.

DHI is one of my favorites. ,,a lot of fragrances are marketed for women's but i love to wear it , like black orchid , elixir des merveilles , ysl opio black and lady's love it how to smell on me ,
Great video! I love comparison videos! I'm a huge fan of the Dior homme line. I don't believe they would discontinue DHP I'm sure it will pop up again but then again how many back up bottles of DHP is too many lol?
I prefer the Iris note in Prada L'Homme which tends to be more soapy than Dior which tends more lipsticky. Out of the Dior line, I wear Dior Homme with the toned down lipsticky vibe. Prada for daytime, Dior for nighttime
Hey Sebastian, first off been a fan for awhile! Great job by you and Ashley, you two really compliment one another and her insight is excellent. I understand people can wear whatever they want, but I do think certain fragrances and notes lean either masculine or feminine and that’s fine. Iris is indeed a polarizing note to me. DHI was the first fragrance I smelled from the DH line and my first impression was that it was a feminine fragrance. I like the way it smells but is not something I would want to smell like. I do own DH, DHS, and DHC and think they’re all solid fragrances but definitely unisex.
I think as fragrances continue to be more unisex there’s a reason things like Aventus, Terre D’Hermes, and ADG Profumo get a lot of hype in the community because they lean distinctly masculine to my nose. I do agree that most people’s reference of what is masculine or feminine smelling in our western culture can be a bit limited so when someone calls the DH or DHI as being for women it’s not surprising; the main note it dries down to is a powdery iris after all, not something we in the west think of as masculine. Peace!
I think a lot of the people who don't see that come from the woke people who say gender doesn't exist crowd lol. It's definitely feminine to some degree. Maybe not as much in the right situations, like camping
I came in later to this video, but I have to say that my wife and I both wear Prada L'Homme and we are going to buy Dior homme intense or Dior homme parfum, which we are going to share. I think that most modern parfums can be worn by both man and woman. You made a great point. 😁
DH is my reference scent against which every other fragrance I experience is ultimately judged. As such, iris/oris has become my one of my all time favorite notes in perfumery. I must confess that lately I’m falling in love with Chanel La Pausa EDP. Love the rubbery earthiness of it, so damn good!
I’m watching this and wearing Valentino Uomo and can’t believe how good it smells. I don’t know if it smells “masculine” but I don’t even care lol. I just got Uomo Intense and absolutely love it. I’m obsessed with Iris in the spring

👋🏼 Hi Ashley! Hi Sebastian! Great video! I think if you like a fragrance, wear it. I’m a woman who enjoys wearing fragrances marketed to men for example Bentley for Men Intense. I feel all fragrances are unisex. That’s heartbreaking to hear about Dior Homme Parfum. It seems to be everywhere on social media these days. Fortunately, I was able to find it at Selfridges.

I really like the Dior Homme Cologne version as I find the combination, or contrast, between the citrus and white musk very sexy when applied on skin, Even though the fragrance has a significant fruity note on paper.

This talk about the non gender of fragrances and a list by JoyAmin that included Versace Versens has intrigued me into buying some fragrances I've never considered. Like one at Sephora called Lipstick On says it's for women I just kept thinking I love LOVE Iris and don't care! Thanks to Sebastian, the fragcom, and of course the awesomeness of Dior Homme line!

Dior Homme Intense is the best unisex-fragnance in the fragnance history...It matches everyone....I find it very attractive on almost every person. I wish it would be just for me (I am a woman) 😊
Really good video. It was not a surprise for me that someone stated that the Dior Homme line is for women, it is not necessary to be under the influence of substances to say that. I do love and wear two of the line, and I think they are the best of the best.
But I do understand that some men and women find the line-up feminine; as George said, it is a new concept of men's fragrances.
I have an silver-stemmed bottle of DH, and DHI, as well as DHP, and can't see my life without them!

As a newbie to the world of fragrances, it's good to hear that Dior homme has a powdery element. As a child, being hugged and kissed by women wearing powdery perfums turned me off on that characteristic for life. Powdery to me is a blocker to the complexity of the scents. Bought some Creed Aventus, Bentley Intense and a sample of Lalique Encre Noir online today. Hope they're not powdery. Could you do a video on scents that have clarity with no powdery element to them? You're my Guru, Sebastian. Lesley's perfect in every way. Thanks.
I wear Dior Homme Intense but I think it smells great on men as intended.
Prada lhomme intense is a better office scent compared to Valentino Uomo and Dior Homme Intense. It's much more inoffensive.
I have a full 75ml of the DHP and a back up bottle. the DHI is not for me i prefer the DHP for winter/fall and dior homme is preferred for spring etc along with professional settings. DHP i have to admit.... though is by far... the most just.... breathtaking fragrance ever especially during winter.. it just warms my soul up honestly.... and i always get compliments after a hug or whatever "Omg you smell amazing whats that" and when im like "Dior" they're like "really?"
Women of all ages love the Homme line on me. I’ve received a ton of great feed back over the past 5 years wearing all of the main ones, DH, DHI, DHS, DHP. I do have to say that the silver straw Homme was a tad fem but could be pulled off by the right man WHICH IMO was the intention all along from Dior. Their frags and Clothing are not for the masses and meant for the niche crowd that is fashion/fragrance aware.
Ashley was right about skin chemistry, because on me DHP settled nicely.
Dior Homme does have feminine qualities with the floral powdery pear note, i find its almost an extension of J'Adore but it doesn't make one less of a man to wear it. Im not sure if Ashley said or not but id love to get her thoughts on Valentino Uomo Intense

Ashley you may have already touched on the subject but what do you wear and why? Purchased many men's fragrances over the years but the original Givenchy Gentleman is one of three scents which have always garnered me positive unsolicited comments. Would like to give Dior Homme or Sport a try - but will have to get my nose on them first. Enjoy your presentations, keep up the fine work!

I'm not a huge fan of the iris accord in general, but when I say something is too feminine for me it means exactly that "for me"
It's all about scent memory and personal taste.
I have several fragrances in my collection that I love that many might consider too feminine for them... It's all relative.
If one feels comfortable wearing a scent then the gender it's marketed too is absolutely irrelevant.

I have never understood those who categorize fragrance as being masculine or feminine. There are many cultures in which men and women appreciate smelling floral. Likewise, as a woman I own many fragrances that are marketed towards men. I love tobacco fragrances, and woodsy scents. Why can I not smell like vetiver or a pine tree? I think that perhaps the American market might simply be too narrow minded. Scent is scent. Each day I choose to wear scents that define my mood and my dress. Sorry that you were upset by what must have been a comment by a narrow minded person. Love your comments and videos...
DHP is still redily available in Arabian gulf countries if u have some one there maybe then u can get it (sephora, faces,paris gallery and Dior boutiques)
First of all, Ashley has great insights and excellent taste. Bought DHI blind, based on emphatic recommendations from reviewers. It’s definitely not a traditional “manly” scent. Does smell like a makeup bag at the open, doesn’t project as much as I’d expected, but gets good reactions for women. Simple question: Do you wear scents for your own pleasure, or for the pleasure of your partner(s)? The answer likely varies by occasion. Personally, I was disappointed. Might have to give it some time. Finally, we’re not unisex - we have gender-based hormones. They are the fundamental drivers of scent-driven attraction. Let’s not pretend that doesn’t exist. Interesting commentary as usual.
