What a Rock n Roll legend RIP Gene Vincent & the Blue Cap's I am a Teddy Boy 🎼 & always get up & Bop when God Gene Vincent is on brilliant music 🎼📻🎼🎶 gone never forgotten the music still played today . Sad day today we lost Eddie Cochran 17 th April 1960 . 62 years ago today Gene was never the same when he lost his friend Eddie today . After that Gene always dressed in Black RIP Eddie Cochran 📻🎼🎶🎙️🎵 Rock n Roll forever 🎼📻🎶🎙️🎵📻🎙️🎵
I met Gene backstage at the Oasis Club Lloyd Street Manchester. He autographed my plaster cast then rolled up his leather jeans to show me his damaged leg and supporting leg stirrups.
20th Century Box Thanks for the information. Very interesting. As per my information Cliff Gallup first left the group in 1956 (Sept?) - just before the cameo appearance in 'The Girl Can't Help It' film, then Gallup returned to Nashville to play the sessions on a second album (Oct 15-18) and then he disappeared from the scene. In Nov 56, for a Canadian tour fullowed by a residency at the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas (where they played a 20 minute set every hour from midnight to six!) local DJ Teddy Crutchfield played lead guitar. Any comment?
Cliff's playing a Gretsch Duo-Jet that he used on his recordings with the Blue Caps. Early on Gene was partial to Gretsch guitars as well; he owned a few including an acoustic Rancher with a hole in the front of it from a cherry bomb. He also gave a Gretsch 6120 to Johnny Meeks before the Blue Caps all got white Fenders.
Ronnie Self standing in a box is because he could not stand still during the recording session. He was like Elvis, he even moved during recordings and it aint good.

Nice one!
Inovadores, desbravadores, sensacionais! Antes deles não havia praticamente nada.
Enjoyed this clip. Just lost Dickie Harrell this week. So you're saying the Buddy shot was in the same place as the Blue Caps one ?
You might consider prolonging the time duration of the text that you have provided. It is hard to keep up with the speedy shift of "slides".
Fantasticsong great
Ronnie self in a cardboard box to stop him moving around?
That is the only thing I can think of! Lol.
Yes!
Oh yessssssssssssss,love, love, love it
I’m a fast reader but could not read everything. I will try again without music!
But it’s a bad synchronisation anyway…
The screaming kid, the real king of rockabilly
I've never heard of these groups before they're amazing I guess I live under a rock. Thanks!
You don't live under a rock. It's just nobody told you about 1950s Rock and Roll.
❤❤
Great pictures! What is the guitar that Cliff Gallup is playing, and why is Ronnie Self standing in a cardboard box?

Has nobody seen Eddie Cochran in the photo?
